I have the Switch version and have enjoyed what I've played so far. Might check it out on PS5. Guess I just have a soft spot for games that get bashed by reviewers!

The studio posted an explanation about this on Twitter. Apparently, they used AI placeholder text/assets during development with the intention of replacing them for the final product and this instance was an oversight. Seems incredibly minor to me.

@Jrs1 Me! 201 according to Deku Deals. I cut my wishlist on console back to the old maximum because the "?" tiles bug me, and I'm also convinced going above the old limit made the store unstable.

I feel like this happens almost every year, but nothing ever comes of it.

I gave Forspoken a shot despite critical venom and adored it. Taught me to never trust reviewers or other people's opinions when it comes to gaming. I'll definitely try out Mind's Eye.

Glad to see the original is getting remastered, hopefully bringing the Series X optimizations over our way. 60fps for the second one is also nice. I don't hate walking simulators and really enjoy this series' world.

@ED_209 Me not having to re-buy 500+ games on another system is definitely strong motivation to stay with PlayStation.

@UltimateOtaku91 Once people figure out that you have to crank settings down across the board and have the device plugged into a charger to eek out acceptable performance in the newest games (many of which don't even function in handheld), that'll be a shock.

Runs the risk of being too PC for the console crowd and too console for the PC crowd.

For me personally, I'm not impressed with Xbox and strongly dislike PC so it's a double no.

All the negative press just wants me want it more

The day gaming is 100% streaming is the day I stop. Imagine everyone who plays video games all drawing from the exact same resources at the same time. All the lag and downscaling...

Stadia tried and it failed miserably.

I still think PC and console are very different markets with very different customers, so a careful strategy is critical. I don't buy all the apocalyptic talk of all digital, all streaming, all open platforms, especially considering who's actively championing all of those!

At the very least, I can't see Sony saying, "You don't need to buy our games OR our consoles!" like Xbox.

All this pearl-clutching yet Nintendo was first with $80 games and Xbox just hiked all game and hardware prices 😆

@Korgon Same! Things like Duke Nukem Forever, Forspoken, and The Chant were all reviled by critics and turned out to be lots of fun for me. That's why I don't listen to critics or reviewers anymore. I have a similar feeling about Mind's Eye.

I'm not too worried about the specifics. If I can get something that lets me play the game, looks nice on my shelf, and can be sold or traded, that's a good deal.

Not saying that this is some diamond in the rough, but it will be a nice bargain bin purchase like when I got Forspoken brand new for $13. That's another game where I'm glad I ignored the online hate-jerk!

I think something like 7 out of my 115 Xbox games are Play Anywhere, so this handheld makes zero sense for me. And I'd hate to see how low someone would have to crank settings down to get stable performance from current PS5 ports...

Not worried about reviews, I just want to experience the jank firsthand!

It's largely sold out in all the stores around me. People were camping out at my local GameStop days in advance!

EDIT: Apparently that was Moo Deng and this is completely different.

The Xillia games would be interesting because both are double-buffered (30fps overworld, 60fps combat) and have a darkening filter on the graphics. PS4/5 has kind of a spotty history with old double-buffered games. If they keep all that the same, not much reason to upgrade IMO.

Best case scenario would be a Destiny/Destiny 2 (Tales of Eternia for our friends overseas) double pack. Would save people $300-400!
