Re: Poll: Are You Playing Ghost of Yotei?

BlackGecko14

I wish it came out a different time like November! Im in a spooky mood and have plenty to play now. But, i like the studio and Tsushima and am very excited, so I'll probably be playing if the delivery ever arrives today!

Re: Sony Hasn't Given Up on Adding More PS3 Games to PS Plus Yet

BlackGecko14

Yeah i dont really like that answer for rotating games out to help discovery. I figured they'd prioritize first party IP, not be removing that. And optimistic take could be they removed Resistance to bring it back on in a different form, like a standalone purchase and not streaming. Or a remaster.

I really wish they'd do native Ratchet and Clank games, but even the PS2 ones are streaming from the PS3 remastered.

Re: Hot Shots Golf Fans Fume at Use of Generative AI in PS5 Revival

BlackGecko14

Good bringing it to attention! Luckily, its not taking creativity away like character or map design. That is an odd thing, but maybe they used images generated themselves. Like they made 5 or 6 leaf textures and then used that to populate the many trees to save time. Not stealing from others, which is the most egregious use of AI. I hate AI used in art, but I'll give this a benefit of the doubt and hope that, since we dont know how they went about it and didn't take anything creative away.

Re: Final Fantasy 16 May Have Underperformed on PS5, But It's Doing Terribly on Xbox

BlackGecko14

I remember years ago, it was said they just don't typically sell on Xbox. Then XIII went multi platform and did whatever. They've done it a few times and it doesnt seem to really be some big extra boom. Playstation has that built in audience, where im sure some would like to give it a go on Xbox, you typically go with an ecosystem with the type of games you like. Plus, GamePass training to get all your games on a service isn't great.

Re: Mortal Kombat 1 Dev Finished with PS5 Fighter, Moving to Next Project

BlackGecko14

I really loved Injustice and have great memories with it, but i went really nuts with Injustice 2! All of the dlc announcement hype, its one of my most played hours ever, and my now-wife loved watching me play it actually. I think MK1 was cool and it was their concept to reboot. But hopefully they got the odd ideas out and can make Injustice 3 everything we can hope!

Re: Poll: Do You Care About the Death of PlayStation Stars?

BlackGecko14

I really like the collectibles that arent random or generic. I think the coins price should be less on the app. The campaigns encourage checking out, or at least engaging in a new game or to give a spotlight on an indie. I think a lot of good can be done with it. And to embrace their legacy and IPs. And on top of all of that, the gift cards back for being a loyal customer just makes sense. I really hope something else comes out of it. It seemed like Stars had a lot of potential and they abandoned it.

Re: New PS4 Games Release Dates in 2025

BlackGecko14

Really, REALLY excited for Midnight Walk!! But, its one of the few games my wife got excited for, so I'm getting it for her. I'd prefer physical release, but smaller release and team, so I'll support it at launch!!

Re: LittleBigPlanet Erasure Continues as Sackboy Removed from PlayStation Productions Logo

BlackGecko14

There's a lot they could do with it. Especially with a mascot platforms taking of my like it did with Astrobot. I liked Sackboy Big Adventure and played it with my wife. If they game it the care they could have, they can make something special. They released awesome dlc costumes for SBA too. If they add some of that into a story, they could bring the nostalgia with an actual older character.

Re: Not Everyone Loved Oblivion Remastered's Shadow Drop

BlackGecko14

Oblivion is cool, and I'm glad for fans, but it was never really for me. Way too big and expensive. But I've had Clair Obscur pre-ordered and have been loving it. I always didn't like the idea of shadow drops from consumer standpoints because, if it was something I really wanted, I typically don't have the money to just drop on it suddenly. I'm an adult and prefer to plan it out in advance for a new release. The indie developer issue is a good point too. I'm glad they have a good spirit about it, but that does suck.

Re: PS3's Resistance Games Not Playable on PS5, PS4 at All After Just 6 Months

BlackGecko14

@twitchtvpat Fall of Man and 2 were just added in November. I remember them being in PS Now and I remembered it was odd so many games didn't just transfer over to Plus. I played a bit of each of them a couple months ago and it could really use a bit of cleanup, but after a moment, the controls weren't too bad. I remember the controls feeling so different on PS3 when I played a demo for 3 years ago. But I'm glad I got a good feel of it now and want a remaster of it now.

Re: Free PS Plus Compensation Confirmation Emails Being Sent Out Now

BlackGecko14

Really frustrating I was checking every day by going to my library on the app and seeing if a recent Plus game was locked, to see if I'd gotten my 5 days. I'd seen reports and people say they got theirs and then, after a couple weeks, probably one of the only days I didn't check, I got it. I found out the next day, missing a day, and then had plans those couple nights so I got like 1 day to use it. I appreciate that they did that, but that really sucked how I waited and then had it suddenly happen without me knowing and wasting part of it.

Re: Sony Confirms PS Portal's Status as 'DadStation' in Accurate Ad

BlackGecko14

The Portal got announced like right after the Playstation edition of the Android Backbone went up to order. I was bummed it overshadowed it, but glad it's done well. I love the Backbone though and, as a dad of a young one, it's been very handy the last couple years! Getting to play during quiet time or when the TV is taken all day.

Re: Lost Records: Bloom & Rage - Tape 1 (PS5) - Slow Burn Opener Means Part 2 Must Deliver

BlackGecko14

I played some of the original Life Is Strange and was enjoying it despite the issues with the notorious dialog. But I felt like I wasn't in the mindset for watching stuff play out to people and it get so depressing. I haven't gone back to any of them, but was glad when people enjoyed them.

This game has seemed interesting and I'm glad it's getting praise. I'll probably wait for both parts to be out and maybe try it. I do always wonder if my wife would think it's ever weird of me if it gets too into a teenage girl experience for a grown man in his thirties to be playing. But I might give it a go.

Re: Poll: What Were Your Favourite PS5 Games from State of Play?

BlackGecko14

I only got to vote once. Maybe I pressed submit and could have selected more.
Well, my top is
1. The Midnight Walk
2. MGS: Delta
3. Sonic Racing: Crossworlds

I think Split Fiction will be a lot of fun for my wife and me, but it's not grabbing me as much as I wish it was. Hell is Us also is looking interesting.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play for February 2025?

BlackGecko14

Housemarq was a nice surprise, but I was hoping for a couple of PS Studios announcements. I'm glad for more of and dates for Midnight Walk and Borderlands 4. Borderlands I need to see some story for, because a little UI tweak aside, it mostly seems the same. A couple other things alright and the MGS Delta trailer showing a few days ago was still cool.
