Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds really is going a little wild with its crossovers, as a new trailer has just confirmed DLC featuring characters, karts, and courses from Nickelodeon franchises.
First and foremost is SpongeBob SquarePants; the titular invertebrate and his best friend Patrick Star will be playable racers, along with the Patty Wagon vehicle and a Bikini Bottom track to race around.
The trailer also confirms similar collaborations with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and Avatar Legends, though these aren't shown in action.
All three of these DLC packs will be included in CrossWorlds' Season Pass, but will presumably be available for individual purchase as well.
A trailer at Summer Game Fest announced the first premium DLC pack was Minecraft, while SEGA-associated characters will be coming to the game for free; these include Ichiban from Like a Dragon and Joker from Persona 5.
There are two more premium DLCs still to be revealed, as well as another 10 free, post-launch, SEGA-adjacent racers.

I'll be honest none of these do it for me. But the game still looks cool and I'm looking forward to it
I dunno about anyone else, but this actually makes me less interested in the game. Since when did Nickelodeon share a universe with Sonic? I mean, I get the other Sega characters, but the Nick characters feel weird to me.
Yeah I don't care about SpongeBob and stuff. I love the extended universe SEGA characters in this, but these guests don't do it for me.

Just means I won't be buying the dlc, im excited for the main game but I'd much rather they just focused on Sonic and their own IP than characters instead of the likes of Spongebob who themselves are well passed their prime
Honestly I just like that Ichiban is in the game. Makes sense too since they had kart racing as a mini game in 7 and Pirate Yakuza.

This would be more interesting if there wasn't 3 entire Nickelodeon Kart racing games already. I can already race as SpongeBob, Aang, and Leonardo.
Yeah this killed the hype for me completely, now it just looks like Nickelodeon Kart Racers. They make the game look cheap, could have just made it with characters from all of Sega's franchises 😒
I am so not feeling this one. These forced guest appearances are only making it worse.
I like Nickelodeon, but that's kinda nonsense. Its racing game characters. They have plenty other Sega characters that would be more fitting and wanted. There's surely more to come, but this just gives the game a weird tone.

Doesn't bother me. The 10 SEGA racers will be added for free so no one has to buy the dlc characters which presumably have a licence fee attached. Game looks excellent

I'm so tired if this trend of guest characters bombarding every game that exists especially when they just don't fit. I blame Fortnite popularising just shoving any ip that exists together into any random game. The Nick characters are probably some deal with Paramount since they do the Sonic movies
I don't have much interest in the Nick characters (or Minecraft). If anything, I'm more interested in other Sega characters. If they were to add Kiryu Kazuma and Yu Narukami, I'd buy it.
I love Zuko from Avatar. If they put him in, it might be the only reaosn I buy this game.
