Re: Three Sony Games Nominated for Ultimate Game of the Year Award at the Golden Joysticks

BRT15

@dark_knightmare2 wow mate, looking at your comments I'm not even gonna engage in a discussion with you. If you loved the game, good for you.

I loved the first game and after putting more than 50 hours into the game, I was thoroughly disappointed. As I said I thought they added so much bloat to the game in the name of more is better that it became a Ubisoft game and I stand by that.

Re: Sony Gates Customer Service Priority Behind New PS Stars Program

BRT15

This is the exact reason why I felt pushed to get an Xbox (for the first time in my life) this year. I hope these kind of decisions push more people away from the platform. Add to that the Horrorshow I had in terms of customer service with my PS5 this year, fully justifies my decision.

Such disgraceful practices.

Re: PlayStation Boss Jim Ryan Demanded Firm Reinvigorate Interest in Indies

BRT15

@Shepherd_Tallon by that logic, seems like the reports we read about Putin is a narrative drawn up by the West and which has decided that Putin is bad. Come on bud...

Not trying to be political here but it was just an example that if bad decisions are made, it's just a fact that bad decisions has been made. And Jim Ryan has made a lot of poor decisions that negatively impact us, the end user. From price hikes, foray into live service games (still on the fence as to how this goes) and not forgetting the amount of times he has had diarrhea of the mouth when communicating to the fan-/customerbase

Can say with certainty that I will personally not look back fondly at his leadership of the brand

Re: The Last of Us PS5's Pricey Firefly Edition Shipping in Shocking Condition

BRT15

@get2sammyb it's not the distributors responsibility this but Sony that writes the requirements for packaging. So the blame solely lays at Sony's feet.

Some sites like VGC are saying that customers and not getting full refunds but rather 20% vouchers for their next purchase.

So not only are they shafting loyal and paying customers on the price of the game itself but also delivering the product poorly and post sales support is as usual also poor.

Sony of this generation summed up.

Re: Naughty Dog Reflects on How The Last of Us: Part I Honors the Original

BRT15

@naruball you're right for the games that have been released up till now but one thing I think Microsoft does better than Sony is offering good quality games of differing genres. As an example, for all its multiplayer flaws Halo Infinite was an 8/10 for its single player.

Also looking forward, I'm more excited about what is coming out on Xbox than on PlayStation past December 22. Then again that's just me.

Re: Why the PS5's Price Hasn't Changed in USA

BRT15

@UltimateOtaku91 sorry mate are you implying that those of us who are unhappy with this decision is being illogical? In fact it is completely illogical as a consumer to support/be fine with this in any shape or form, because the only reason they have increased the price is to maintain their profit margins and shove whatever increase in manufacturing costs down to the consumer.

Re: Immediate Backlash as Sony Asks Players About Purchasing NFTs

BRT15

@get2sammyb why would you be surprised if they went back on it? They've done several U-turns, good and bad, this gen. It wouldn't surprise me if PlayStation (under the leadership of Lord Jimbo) tried pushing for NFTs to further beef up their bottom line.

Also gauging the interest in NFTs from the gaming community does not require a survey at this stage. Just see the plummeting NFT interest and the several thousand backlashes over the past year. Duhhhh

Re: Sony to Abandon One-to-One PlayStation Support on Twitter

BRT15

PlayStation support is absolute trash. Sent in my PS5 for repairs here in Germany about 10 weeks ago and they've not sent it back. They don't want to replace the lost console and keep drawing the situation out but saying that the only thing they can do is pass it on to the responsible department. Horror situation and absolutely disgraceful from Sony. One of the worst customer service situations I've experienced in my life.

Re: Poll: Is The Last of Us: Part 1 Really a 'Cash Grab'?

BRT15

There's no two ways about it. The only reason they're remaking the game is cause they want it to coincide with the TV show, so in my opinion it's already unnecessary as a release.

But to then charge 79.99€ for it instead of 29.99€ or 39.99€, to keep it short, is totally a cash grab

Re: Video: In Defence of The Last of Us' PS5 Remake

BRT15

Just gonna point out that Resident Evil 2 remake and Mafia: Definitive Edition was priced at €39.99 on release.

This is just Sony being Sony and trying to milk their customer base as much as possible with the TV Show also coming out. I have no idea why a logical person would defend the price point.

Re: Reaction: Why You Shouldn't Worry About Sony's New Strategy

BRT15

Have to disagree with the article. If you're a fan of the Single Player Experience that PlayStation has done so well in the past, you should be worried with this new direction.

Firstly though, I don't mind them porting more games to PC and heck even if they release exclusives day 1 on PC, I think it's a perfectly sound strategy to increase profits.

My gripe is with the live service. People seem to think that more revenue generated from these games are gonna be pumped into the single player experiences and the output of single player Games is going to be the same as ever. Money is not the finite resource of concern here, it's manpower. If PlayStation plans to put out 12 live service games in the next 4 years, that's 3 games per year which means to me, their finite number of studios are gonna be working on these games and the content for these games. Remember content for live service games need to be added not only for 6 months into the games launch but, if you look at the industry, it's gonna be years.

Under Big Jimbo's leadership, the focus seems to be increasing further the profit margins no matter the cost.

Whilst the internet is often dramatic, I think there is a cause for concern regarding the future of PlayStation under the current direction and leadership. In particular the effect it's going to have on the quality and output of the one thing that makes this platform so great, it's single player experiences

Re: 19.3 Million PS5 Consoles Have Been Shipped So Far

BRT15

@jmac1686 yeah of course mate. Didn't mean that it's a general issue. Still sucks for me nonetheless. My 60s rant for the day.

But objectively speaking the PS5 hasn't been a significant generational leap. To be blamed is the lengthened cross gen releases

Re: 19.3 Million PS5 Consoles Have Been Shipped So Far

BRT15

@sanderson72 you're not missing out on much. I've had my PS5 for a year now and on the games front it's really thin and also I've run into a hardware issue recently where the console would constantly lose its sound. Troubleshooted a little with my series X and different HDMI cables and same issue. Now it's gone for repairs and Sony says it will take 3 weeks. Really miffed.

Miss my PS4 slim. Was such a well built console.

Re: Feature: What's Next for PS5, PS4?

BRT15

Im personally not feeling great about this gen from Sony. From some of the little annoying anti consumer moves they've made to the announcement and focus on live service games.

Also trying to think of first party single player Games that have been announced thus far and we have two sequels (GoW and Spiderman 2) and another marvel game (Wolverine).

One of the reasons why I also picked up a Series X recently.

Re: PS5 VRR Support Finally Coming This Week, Boosting Performance in Some Games

BRT15

Well that's a surprise in terms of the release date. Expected it to come some time in the summer. Curious to see how it works though.

Just a bit of a PSA here, using VRR or even ALLM will automatically block some of your TV picture settings (like Black frame insertion etc.). So I suggest only using it for games that would benefit due to the poor/unstable frame rates, like Elden Ring or even RE:Village.

Re: March 2022 NPD: PS5 Stock Problems Put Sony in Last Place

BRT15

That's very interesting considering some of the messaging from last year that it's going to be better in 2022.

If people do end up purchasing the Series X over the PS5, cause of what's available, I do think they'll be quite happy with the purchase. I just picked up a Series X with Game Pass last week (my first Xbox ever) and I've been pleasantly surprised. It has some pretty cool features in particular the support for BC and the FPS Boost to go with it. Game Pass has also been really good with their offerings. I've been playing some of the older games like Dead Space 1 and 2. Very satisfied.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Dev Reassures Fans That Expansions Are in the Works

BRT15

I literally finished the game last night and here are my thoughts:

Personally like the open world RPG aspect of the game. The world is well done, side characters and some of their missions are pretty interesting and the combat is decent.

Thought the main story was not great. It started pretty interesting but it just tailed off after a couple of hours. That was pretty disappointing. Also while the game seems more polished now, I still had like 5 hard crashes in the 50+ hours that I've played it. Some small bugs like characters t-posing and random cars crashing in the background too.

Overall I would give it a 7.5/10

Re: PS5, PS4 Exclusives May Get Worse if Free with PS Plus Day One

BRT15

Take Big Jimbo's comment with several teaspoons of salt (I'll save the tablespoon and ladle for more outlandish stuff). This is just corporate fear of how it might affect their bottom line.

Haven't seen any public financials of Game Pass to make a calculated evaluation of this but what I will say is, if it works for cinema and TV, why wouldn't work for games? Shouldn't it be profitable as well since the production costs are also in the millions?

Re: PS Plus, PS Now Merged Service Revealed, Goes Live in June

BRT15

Would like to know if there is an upgrade path for current or running subscriptions.

Also, for the extra and premium tiers, are games available for both platforms (i.e. PS4 or PS5 versions of the games)?

If it's gonna be like PS Now where only PS4 version of the games available then I'm not gonna bother.

Re: This Week Could Be Big for PlayStation, Say Swirling Rumours

BRT15

Personally not excited at all for these announcements. PlayStation has scored quite a few own goals this generation with anti-consumer moves that it's felt to me like death by a thousand cuts. Nail in the coffin for me was GT7 (one of my most beloved gaming franchises).
