I remember Shuhei Yoshida was asked about what happened to PSVR2 and he was pretty coy about it.
It's just pure guesswork but I got the impression that Sony were planning more 1st party support but that all got cancelled early on because live service took greater priority.

@MrPeanutbutterz How would you know it's "tedious" if you're not giving it a chance in the first place.

I hope it does well but if it badly flops then I hope it leads to Sony completely restructuring Bungie so that become a great studio again because the talent is there.

Wouldn't be surprised if most of that revenue came from Helldivers and Destiny 2.

Sony have been pretty good these last few years at when they say a game is coming in a certain year then they stick to it. So the fact that Intergalactic hasn't had a 2026 attached to it was telling.

As for next year I still have severe doubts about GTA launching next year.

Would this be the first year since CoD 4: Modern Warfare turned the franchise into a juggernaut that it isn't the best selling game of the year? Apart from when Rockstar launched GTA 4 and Red Dead 2 of course.

@j2c Was going to say the categories are better then TGA. Best remaster, expansion, supporting performance, early access game. If it had them it broaden out the awards as well as preventing them for backing themselves into a corner by having games in categories they shouldn't be in.

@AndyKazama I think Sony will wait till the PS6 launch at the earliest.

@RoomWithaMoose I think many still struggle with playing as characters who aren't completely likable since we've been conditioned to play the hero since the arcade days. Now a lot more games have more nuanced stories.

I still reckon one of the reasons why Horizon gets this weird hate is from people's thinly veiled sexism. Horizon is the only really successful AAA IP to come out over the last ten years that's female led. And more importantly Aloy is a character who isn't sexualised for either cheap marketing or to "appeal to the boys" and that rankles with some.

So since The Game Awards started. PlayStation Studios have had a GOTY contender in all but one year.

@Leinad7 That many users, so why hasn't Steam Deck become a Nintendo Switch like mainstream product?
Steam Machine will find it's audience but I can't see any scenario where it's a legitimate competitor to PlayStation.

Good on those guys trying to revive Concord, Sony never gave it a chance. Not even turning into F2P.

I think this is laying the groundwork to get more Japanese gamers to buy PS5s so that when the PS6 handheld is released they will more willing to buy it, since they would have a library already.

It's a niche product, even if it launches with Half Life 3. Those that want to game on PC will just get a PC.
The steam deck at least had the portability factor and even then it's sold less than 5 million units.

@T-Bone09 I don't know how that would work, to have a game that looks like Horizon but online with other players would be really challenging.

What makes me laugh is that for two years I've had to read comments on here about how "no one wants live service games" then as soon as one isn't announced for PS5, now it's a problem.

Hopefully this is Rockstar staggering this stuff out, first RDR1 then 2 then GTA4.

Here's me still waiting on GTA 4.

We've had Sackboy, Fat Princess, Knack. Uncharted. PS Allstars, Wipeout and Wild Arms all get mobile games without a console port so this is nothing new. It's all about reaching new audiences and regions, especially Asia. Also Guerilla are making their own Horizon online game, it would make no sense for them to compete with each other.

Was hoping for Soul Caliber 3, I guess it'll be for December now. I wish we got more classic games a month.

@Dalamar I mean we had a R&C game 4 years ago. They won't be making Marvel games forever.

I always find it odd when you get these old games coming back and they don't prioritise the platform it came from.

I still maintain that the Bungie acquisition can come good eventually. They had been badly mismanaged for a long time but with Sony taking more complete control of studio then things can change for the better.

Yeah it's rumoured that they have multiple projects going on.
The big online only game for multiplayer.
Then remake the first trilogy for those that want campaigns. Which is rather an indictment on their own campaigns really.

@DennisReynolds Yeah I was slightly disappointed that the regions were rather fragmented but still the all maps were still big with lots to do.

Yotei is better in terms of exploration and side quests. The weapon system is better than Tsushima's stances. The story for both are about the same for me. Atsu's revenge story is more personal and better villains but Jin's feels like it has more at stake.
Overall Yotei edges it for me for just the refinements they made.

Does anyone know if you can use this emulator on a modded Vita?

Cool I guess but I think most Switch players would rather that Nintendo's online infrastructure would act more like one in 2025 then 2005.

I've had a fair few of these "discounted for you" prices but was never all that enticed. I'm sure it won't be blown out of proportion.

The Carnage story might be saved for the Venom game.
The girl teased at the end becomes Silk in the comics.
Where I think the story is going is that Peter takes a break, maybe marries MJ. Miles looks after things, maybe taking down some b tier villains. But when Doc Ok and Goblin come into the picture, that's when Peter has to come back.

I found when I played Train Sim World 2 is that I was content with the base game plus on piece of DLC cos it had my local station. So I think with games like these there gaming pic n mix.

Makes sense, if the Insomniac leak on their long term roadmap is to believed then we're getting a Venom game, Spider-Man 3 and X-Men as the sequel to Wolverine.

PlayStation's best commicials never showed games. The brand is the draw for these rather then individual games.
