This GTA-Inspired Anime Open World Deserves a Place on Your PS5, Not Your Pre-Order 1

We put about ten hours into NTE’s recent PS5 beta test, and the outrageous production values had our jaws on the floor.

Even if you’re not a fan of these anime gacha games, you can surely appreciate the appeal of a GTA-inspired open world, filled with vibrant artwork and a never-ending list of urban activities to engage with.

The game will release for free on 29th April, and dev Hotta Studio is running a pre-registration campaign like most live service games.

It’s currently reached the 30 million milestone, which means all players will unlock Haniel for free, as well as a variety of rewards, like Fabricated Dice (used for pulls) and in-game currency.

Pre-orders are also now open on the PS Store, but as always with free-to-play games like this, we wouldn’t recommend it.

For $9.99/£7.99, you’ll get the following rewards, as well as the ability to pre-load:

  • Fabricated Dice x5
  • De-noise Solution x10
  • Elite Hunter Guide x10
  • Chaotic Dye x10
  • Manhole Boss x10
  • Beetle Coin x100k

You’ll be able to use the above items to pull in the standard banner and level up your characters, but we’re not convinced there’s much value here really. It’s rarely worth pre-ordering these games, especially as the launch day incentives will be plentiful.

Still, the new trailer is good. It introduces the character Jiuyuan, and here’s what the press release has to say about her:

“Jiuyuan is the Top Courier of Sperry Express. While on the surface, she appears to be a calm and diligent shopkeeper, Jiuyuan is a master informant with razor-sharp intuition, moving between the city's various factions with ease.”

We’ll have a lot, lot more on NTE in the lead up to launch, but do let us know if you’ll be giving this one a try in the comments section below.
