@Spedfrom That's what annoyed me as well. It's what happened with Cyberpunk, they waited till the last minute to show console footage. And we ended up knowing why.
@Deadlyblack In Marvel Rivals her mech has a black version called VE//OM.
@Americansamurai1 I'd only heard of The Champion recently from YouTubers who were theorizing who was going to be in the roster. And he seems a perfect fit to be a boss character because he searches for the toughest fighters.
@SoulsBourne128 It does seem to be a bit of a odd team, the PS Blog said we'll find out how they came together in the story mode.
@get2sammyb It's looking great and with the fan feedback changes as well, it can only get better. Just to go off topic, will you be reviewing Thomas & Friends: Wonders of Sodor? I'm curious to know what you think since you played the Train Sim games.
@Americansamurai1 I'm hoping that Ghost Rider is leading a Midnight Suns team.
Peni wasn't a surprise cos as Sammy said with the anime theme.
What does fascinate me is the giant woman at the beginning of the trailer, she's called the Promotor and she's part of a group called the elders of the universe.
She's a huge deep cut from ArcSys because as far as I can find, she's was only in 4 issues of one comic series called Thor vs Hulk: Champions of the universe.
Her whole plan was to look for worthy fighters for her fellow elder The Champion, so is he the boss character?
That's great news, it starts slow but once you get a few abilities it's actually pretty fun. Sadly there was a lot of criticism for it's art style which I think is down to Sony conditioning people to expect high quality visuals from their games. But for those that have advocated for smaller games, I hope it encourages Sony.
@Frmknst I did and have zero regrets. I believe in putting money where my mouth is and I've long wanted Sony to do both big budget and lower budget games.
On top of that, this game was telling a story I wanted to see.
It's been amusing to see people freaking out over it. Maximilian Dood was having his second crash out of the week after DLSS. I like how Alex plays and is presented in game is awesome, story mode isn't really a factor for me in whether I like a character or not.
Fighting games does character expression arguably better then any genre in gaming, you know everything a character is about through how they move and fight. And that is more effective then arcade endings.
@LowDefAl The thing is the DF guys should be seeing what everyone else is seeing in that nearly every example shown just completely destroys the atmosphere that the games intended while giving every character the Instagram filter.
Yeah I wasn't impressed and Digital Foundry hasn't covered themselves in glory with their article. John Linneman even mentioned on BlueSky that he wasn't even told about it.
@PuppetMaster I forgot about Alundra sadly. I think the first Arc the lad is on there and I wasn't aware that Wild Arms had that many entries. I would love The Getaway to come back but I remember that game had real world shops and brands so it's probably a licensing nightmare.
I was kinda shocked that Sony didn't make it a standalone release. Though I suppose if they did that it would set the expectation that they planned to support it for a long while.
I think Sony does care about retro releases, they went to the trouble of building a new PS2 emulator because the previous one wasn't good enough. And that wouldn't have been cheap. But if publishers and rights holders aren't interested then there isn't much they can do. As for their own games, there isn't really that many left that they can realistically add (if we leave out PS3.) Wipeout and Gran Turismo is off the table because of licenses, so the only ones I can think off is God of War, Ratchet & Clank and Ico.
Sorry folks for my comment that was having a dig at game pass. I was in a bit of mood so I threw out a comment that wasn't really adding anything to the conversation other then negativity, so I've deleted it.
It has its place but I think it's still computational expensive when it comes to performance. I think AI upscaling tech like PSSR and DLSS are more potential game changers.
I mean you could only review what was available. I remember Cyberpunk got a 3/10 on here I think and while the game is truly great, it was a correct score for the state it was released in.
@Rich33 I don't know how often the term is used in France, I remember looking it up because I wanted to know what it meant It does remind me of the time when King (the company behind Candy Crush Saga) sued an indie studio because their game called The Banner saga had the word saga in it.
The directions that the major companies are going in is interesting.
Valve - Traditional PC gaming but also offering console like hardware in small quantities.
Xbox - Blurring the line between consoles and PC.
Nintendo - Continuing on with the hybrid handheld/console approach.
PlayStation - Traditional console experience but with much rumoured Steam Deck like handheld.
Kind of respect LRG what they try to do (bringing back old games or physical releases) but if you can't do it to consistent quality standard then what's the point.
Clair Obscur is a French word to describe an art technique. So its bloody cheeky of them to think they own that term. These kind of lawsuits are usually enacted to scare people off, especially if they know the opposition can't afford the legal fees.
I just don't see a situation where anyone can release next gen hardware at a competitive price for at least two years. I still think Sony should focus on their handheld first then release PS6 around late 2028 at the earliest.
@PuppetMaster Absolutely right. I remember been disappointed that Marvel Tokon will only have 4 characters in it's first season but the cadence lines up with most other fighting games now.
I found out recently that it takes Capcom around three months to make a new character and then another two months to make costumes. Also I think they lost some external developers too which slowed things down. That's why it'll be 5 months between C-Viper and Alex releasing.
@PuppetMaster Yeah that's pretty cool. I just unlocked Elena in World Tour mode tonight. I suspect they might be saving an Ingrid teaser for Capcom Cup.
It's sadly not doing much for me. I think I find there's just so many hack and slash games in that kind of setting now that I need it to stand out more. But I hope for those that I have wanted Onimusha to return will enjoy it.
@LogicStrikesAgain I hope you're right mate. It's just after the Bluepoint closure (despite understanding Sony's reasons) was a shock especially for me who's a big fan of the idea of Sony having a large family of studios that make a variety of games.
@LogicStrikesAgain Oh I agree 100% and I love that Sony are allowing a game like this to happen. I just worry that the general audience will not be interested. Returnal only sold about a million copies and not many more after that. Maybe I'm just being negative.

@TasteMaker It's more of a joke because I don't think he's used it for any other game.

My nephew got a Series S just for Starfield. I hope he kept the receipt.

@HRdepartment Oh wow I didn't know that.
I suspect that this will be more like their movie soundtracks rather individual NiN songs.

@Enuo Yeah I think it's their first gaming soundtrack.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy With Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for March 2026?

That's good for Saros because I think it's going to be a tough sell as it is without other AAAs coming out at the same time.
