Re: Latest PS5 State of Play Already Most Watched Ever, On Track to Overtake PS Showcases

Overall I thought it was a really good show. Wolverine and GoW looked great.
Until Dawn and Stuntman were a surprise, I'm hyped for Tokon and Dune.
And I'm very interested in Nakamura's new game.
It was surprising that there was no Kena and Intergalactic missing makes sense cos a Naughty Dog game is either going to be first or last on these things, so when you have Wolverine and God of War already, it's understandable why it wasn't there.
Maybe Sony over hyped it a bit too much but I think the two week lead in was more to do for the cinema bookings.

Re: PS5 First-Party Sales Have Fallen Sharply, But It Doesn't Tell the Full Story

@ShadowRJ Oh no doubt it would have made a profit, I just wish it did a bit better. Seem with games like The Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2 and Concrete Genie.

@Jaz007 100% agree on Playstation Experience, I'd have it in the summer instead of a State of Play. Though I don't know if press conferences had that much of an impact compared to now where at the end of the day we're just watching trailers.

The move to releasing their games on PC I don't think helped either because it meant some took a wait and see approach but eventually decided not to buy them on either platform.
Plus I don't think the core PlayStation audience turn up for Sony's games as much as many claim, unless it's the big tentpole franchises. I think games like Astro Bot should have done way better then it actually did. It wasn't full price, it had huge critical acclaim and was an absolute love letter to PlayStation's legacy and yet the most we've heard sales wise is around 3.5m. So either the core PlayStation audience just aren't as interested in anything that's not cinematic 3rd person shooter or that audience is far smaller then we realised.

I remember a fair few years ago that a guy released a "game" where you literally watch paint dry on Steam. If I recall it was done as an example of how easy such low effort products can get on the store. I wonder what the process is to get into PlayStation these days. It's likely a lot easier now that Sony don't have different regions departments to get through QA. I remember Valve's CS Go never made it onto PS3 in Europe because it failed QA there and Valve never bothered resubmitting despite releasing in the U.S.

Re: This 007 Game You Didn't Play Was Basically PS2's Uncharted

Everything or Nothing is still the gold standard for me. I tried Goldeneye back in about 2001 and I didn't like it. Largely because I got used to FPS games with twin sticks and I couldn't go back after that.
This is a great article, I wasn't aware that there was a much different PS2 version.
