I'd certainly like my wallet to "inflate" to meet these rising costs but that's an entirely separate issue that we've just come to accept as a society as "the way things are."

Funny how they'd criticize a game's micro transactions as predatory and yet forked over cash when Sony and the rest of the industry began charging more for games and subscriptions.

The people you are asking not to buy this don't visit Push Square. They don't go to any gaming websites or check out reviews or anything. They see a new CoD in stores and mindlessly buy it. That's the kind of audience that CoD thrives on. The ultra casual, buy and play only 1 or 2 games every year crowd.

I don't know how people play action games on a phone without physical buttons...

I say this as a PlayStation fan but if Valve nail the price then I'll likely switch to steam for most of my gaming, especially since Sony seems keen on porting their first party games to PC anyways. The fact that you can also install whatever apps you want only sweetens the deal.

The thing is, the original saints row actually wasn't super great. It was basically just a copy of GTA at the time. It was only when they embraced the craziness that the series really came into its own.

Yep, the disrespect for TABS is frankly unwarranted. Not every game has to be a deep emotional story to be worth your time.

TABS is goofy fun. Don't knock it just because the name is dumb.

Like I said, I've seen both sides. Cherry picking just one example from each is not the full picture. I've seen the two extremes and they are both disgusting.

At first I could kind of sympathize with the group but then I realized how equally insane they are. The other ridiculous extreme.

The Ninja Gaiden games are known for their notoriously difficult trophy lists so this doesn't surprise me at all.

I'm both happy and sad about this news. Happy because it'll likely make Activision try again and sad because EA is going to milk their new cash cow until the udder is dry.

Hopefully this allows them to breathe fresh life into not just ass creed but far cry as well.

People didn't even read the article. It's not talking about a new patch with more content, it's talking about a whole new "Roblox-esque" mode. I've seen minigames where you're serving food, tower defense... basically it's a "game creator" like dreams (likely much more limited) but honestly? I'd like to see what creators can come up with.

But I thought Call of Duty was "too big to fail?" I love seeing publishers panic.

I feel like I haven't bought a new game since Monster Hunter Wilds. I just don't really feel like I NEED any games. I still have a bunch of "forever" games like Minecraft, Civilization and Cities Skylines that I can repeatedly go back to, on top of my PlayStation plus subscription that I just don't need anything else. I don't experience FOMO and I don't feel like buying games at the new normal, in their incomplete and unfinished state.

I didn't let the game industry down, they let me down.

In the same way Microsoft has blown millions since purchasing Activision. Maybe instead of buying up studios, they should simply fund them so they continue to produce great games. Corporate Greed knows no limits.

I'm fairly certain Xbox as a brand will die soon. We'll be left with the Microsoft pass, which will be available on future PlayStation hardware are Xbox focuses on going third party like Sega.

It does not bode well for only Nintendo and Sony to be on top though.

I'd like to hope that this gives Pokemon some competition but I doubt people who have access to Pokemon will choose this over that, even though I've personally always preferred the Digimon games.

Xbox acquiring Activision was the biggest mistake that was allowed to pass (scratch that, we need to wait and see what Saudi Arabia does with EA).

I said over and over that everyone cheering the acquisition as a win for gamers was going to be in for a rude awakening once the dust settled and here we are now. Not celebrating anymore, are we?

Oh I don't think any less of people that buy sports games every year. I just feel pity because they're paying a premium for a roster update and maybe one little patch or two (while oftentimes losing other things in turn). This, Call of Duty...any yearly release that people buy over and over. They deserve better than what they're getting.

This year in particular EA could have possibly lost their contract with the NFL, allowing other developers to try their hand at making an American football game, allowing competition and thus better quality games for the consumer. Though with sales topping the charts like they do every year it won't surprise me if the contract is renewed and we continue to get slop.

Sometimes I wish gaming never left its niche hobby status.

I originally bought my series S to...run certain things on it. Then I fell in love with game pass for a while....but now it seems like I'll switch back to running certain things on it.

As expected the Gamepass model just wasn't sustainable unless they jacked up the price considerably. This is after they already jacked up the price. Absolute garbage and I hate how they deceptively tried to frame it as getting more value. This is a greedy price hike through and through, nobody should be defending this.

I always like the idea of Dynasty Warriors games but actually playing them quickly turns into a repetitive slog for me.

When the games industry continues to deliver garbage wrapped up in a mega monetization package, it's nice to be able to go back and play things from a simpler time. I don't really care if they're copying someone's homework, especially when said person they are copying "graduated" into making nearly nothing but action rpgs.

The industry is in the pocket of a couple oil barons. Color me surprised.

Chinese developers continue to prove that they're incredibly talented. Even if you can accuse them of "stealing ideas" it takes actual talent to stitch everything together in a cohesive and entertaining way.

I'd give it an ok to good. I do acknowledge that I just don't typically play the big mainstream games anymore, so these presentations usually have limited appeal for me.

But yeah, it would have been stupid to lock entire gameplay features behind characters you then need to pull for, so I'm glad there is no Gacha and everything is on cosmetics which I can easily ignore.

Didn't really think much of it at first but it seems to be taking mechanics from other games and recreating them very competently. I still don't fully understand what this game IS though. Is it really a Gacha? Will each character have, like, a different profession and thus a different storyline? If this is the case I really hope they make each character free and monetize with the cosmetics because I don't want to miss out on any gameplay just become I don't want to pull for a character.

Wow, there's someone who actually thinks PC and Console are on a level playing field. You say I have poor skill but if you're not wiping out the console players then you might be the one with the skill issue...

Play with the PC crowd who seem incapable of not installing cheats and aimbots? No thanks.

Not every online game has to receive content updates until we die. Fall guys just seems to have run its course, no shame in that.

Ugh RPG elements like the new games? Hard pass. I guess the original will remain the definitive version.

I'm fine with physical going the way of the dodo. It's time. People keep saying that if you own the game you can keep it forever but then we have companies like Ubisoft that can shut a game off entirely if they want, so ultimately it doesn't really matter if you have the disc or not. It's a losing battle and not one I particularly want to fight. What I DO want to fight is companies like Ubisoft that are able to kill games like that in the first place.

As much gameplay as the original? But the original was already hours of content!

I thought F.I.S.T was pretty good, if a bit janky. Same with The Plucky Squire. I think I'll try Road 96 next and probably finish up with Night in the woods if I still have time. Abiotic Factor took so much of my time recently but I don't regret a second of playing that game.

Will be fun to play through when It eventually releases on premium.

I hate when big names are the only thing that sell movies and TV shows. Give new people a chance to shine, they need an opportunity.

It looks like a skillful blend of Hitman (with some improvements!) and Uncharted. I just hope that the entire game is crafted like that and not just what they've shown us. These developers have given me no reason to doubt them yet.

People are complaining why this was done and I'm just wondering why it wasn't like that in the first place? Different character anatomies seems like a fundamental thing to focus on during development.

I own Stardew on like 3 other devices so the interest isn't there for me. Viewfinder looks like it'll be a short experience (not always a bad thing) and Psychonauts 2? Sure I'll get to that eventually. The first one was pretty good, though I played that one years ago and don't know how well the sequel compares. Overall a pretty bland selection to me. This is offset by the recent extra offerings which had a lot I'm interested in playing.
