I'm fine with physical going the way of the dodo. It's time. People keep saying that if you own the game you can keep it forever but then we have companies like Ubisoft that can shut a game off entirely if they want, so ultimately it doesn't really matter if you have the disc or not. It's a losing battle and not one I particularly want to fight. What I DO want to fight is companies like Ubisoft that are able to kill games like that in the first place.
I thought F.I.S.T was pretty good, if a bit janky. Same with The Plucky Squire. I think I'll try Road 96 next and probably finish up with Night in the woods if I still have time. Abiotic Factor took so much of my time recently but I don't regret a second of playing that game.
It looks like a skillful blend of Hitman (with some improvements!) and Uncharted. I just hope that the entire game is crafted like that and not just what they've shown us. These developers have given me no reason to doubt them yet.
People are complaining why this was done and I'm just wondering why it wasn't like that in the first place? Different character anatomies seems like a fundamental thing to focus on during development.
I own Stardew on like 3 other devices so the interest isn't there for me. Viewfinder looks like it'll be a short experience (not always a bad thing) and Psychonauts 2? Sure I'll get to that eventually. The first one was pretty good, though I played that one years ago and don't know how well the sequel compares. Overall a pretty bland selection to me. This is offset by the recent extra offerings which had a lot I'm interested in playing.
With the way the Gacha system is implemented in this particular game it just makes me even more skeptical. No 50/50? I just can't fathom how they expect to make money? Selling skins or cosmetics?
Or maybe they don't NEED to make a billion dollars like every other Gacha? A novel concept!
With bigger salaries should come bigger risks. Hermen has, in my eyes, screwed up the last 2 or 3 years at PlayStation...and yet he suffers no consequences or penalties?
At this point I feel like CEO is basically "scapegoat who has to apologize for us so none of us who are actually in charge have to deal with it." What a joke.
@Frmknst What exactly makes it like CoD? Please don't say TTK because there are clips out there of BF4 having the same kill times with the same weapons as BF6. People just need to relearn not to run out like headless chickens trying to be Rambo like CoD rewards.
I believe I have over 300 games that have been given to me for "free" by PlayStation. If I decided to quit buying games and only paid for essential every year I'd have an enormous backlog to get through, even if I only play around 40% of them.
This is what all you prudes begged for. Take away the porn! Let them all touch grass!
Except what you don't realize is that it won't stop there. There's already a few games that handle mature and dark themes that are being forcefully delisted and removed from places like Itch. So yeah, once they take away your delicious murder gore games too will you still be cheering? It will be too late by then. You shot yourselves in the foot with this one.
The community is incredibly toxic. Even though they can't say what they would in an old Call of Duty lobby, they're still incredibly rude and take the game WAY too seriously.
I'm currently playing through the game and I don't see what the hype is all about. I have friends that keep going back to do more playthroughs but as I'm playing I'm feeling the experience kinda...meh. Like, I love the aesthetic but then you see like the same 6 NPCs with their weird ass walk cycles and then even the immersion breaks. I don't really enjoy the combat, I don't enjoy the stealth, I don't enjoy the driving and while I do think the characters are at least passable, this game really doesn't do anything special in any regard. I really wanted to like this game but I'm kinda happy that I held out until it was released on Extra.
When lives are destroyed and companies shuttered, never forget that nothing bad ever happens to CEOs. If they do have to leave, they get a nice massive bonus that could have fed multiple employees that were let go. What a garbage system.
@Anthony_Daniels I dunno man, if you check out interviews with him it seems like that's exactly the way he wanted it to go. If anything, he probably had a bit TOO much input on the show.
Maybe if Microsoft hadn't wasted all that cash on buying up studios and instead had invested in their already owned properties things might have been different.
Seregios was pretty easy even tempered but man Lagi took around 20 minutes to hunt. These new monsters have all been very fun to hunt. Who would have known having patience would pay off?
If you only want to play the newest first party games you probably hate PlayStation subscription. If you are fine with a mix of indie and older AA/AAA games you probably really enjoy the value you get from the service.
I honestly do not care about AI. It has become too ingrained in our lives that if you try to fight it, you're putting up a futile battle. It's here, it's staying, you gotta accept it.
Let's say you really enjoyed the Alters. Perhaps it's one of your favorite games this year. Would finding out that it had some AI work in it retroactively take away your enjoyment of the game?
Remember to crack open those PS5 's from time to time! Sony has made it easier than ever to get to the parts that might get dirty so you don't have to worry about damaging your PS5 to get the fans clean.
Not a fan of futbol besides having it on at the background during get togethers. That being said, if it serves as competition for EA, I'm all for it doing well.
I will now try your Gacha. With smart saving you can get any character you want. Imo it should never be difficult to pull for a character, they can just make their money off cosmetics. Cosmetics that you can't get if you don't have the character. So it's in their best interest to make sure that at least the character is easy to acquire.
Civ 7 was a big disappointment, Oblivion was a fun nostalgia trip but so far for me The Alters is what's really sticking with me.
Edit: I totally forgot Wilds came out this year too. While I eventually got bored of it, playing with friends and just grinding for armor was one of the highlights of this year. I think I'll still give it to the Alters though.

Play with the PC crowd who seem incapable of not installing cheats and aimbots? No thanks.
Re: Fans Worry About the Future of Former PS5, PS4 Hit Fall Guys
Not every online game has to receive content updates until we die. Fall guys just seems to have run its course, no shame in that.

Ugh RPG elements like the new games? Hard pass. I guess the original will remain the definitive version.
