It's unfortunate that the retro games market is going through a similar thing, with prices inflating higher and higher. At this point I don't even fault those that turn to emulation to play a game from 30 years ago that should be at most $5.

I actually went ahead and bought another year of plus before that inevitably goes up in my country too. Normally I'd wait for a discount but that word doesn't exist in 2025.

I am no longer buying any first party games.

I just think we're playing different games at this point. Not all of us want or expect monster hunter to be souls like difficulty. This is a good challenge without being "one mistake and you're dead" which is never really what Monhunt was about.

The people saying it's too easy once again are not playing with randoms. Currently I'm at a 50% success rate in actually finishing the quest because people keep dying. We really don't need anything harder right now.

Nintendo fans always coming out of the woodwork ready to defend whenever their holy company is slandered, no matter what the site. They might have a sixth sense for this sort of thing.

What's so bad about wanting a fair price? Why do you NEVER stand up for yourselves as consumers? Sony and Microsoft have been known to yield if public outcry is too loud but Nintendo knows they can get away with ANYTHING because you'll all roll over on command! Heck many of you will even defend it! I just don't get it. When did consumers lose all respect for themselves?

Caligula effect was already their school JRPG. Very interesting premise and the story wasn't bad but the combat and overall presentation didn't really hold up. I wonder how they'll go with this one.

They usually add 3 characters for these sorts of things so expect 2 that you have to play the Gacha for and one given for free, which is usually not useful.

Definitely an in between game to fund their next big project.

I spent my saved up points to get free gamepass, so I'm basically playing this game for free. REALLY wish Sony had a similar rewards program! Stars is a joke.

I kinda did everything in 2 hours. It's fun to hang out in the new hub at least.

Gonna play this on Gamepass when I get home. Looks great but there might be a bit of jank to it. Well, either way I'm excited to dive back into oblivion after so many years.

Funny how Pascal posted a picture after the episode with Abby's actress to show they're actually friends. I guess show or game, people are gonna have that violent reaction to their favorite characters exiting stage right.

You'd think Nintendo fans would be used to it by now. I guess they're trying to justify the premium price point in their minds.

I don't understand the hate for the arena mode and it's rewards. The armors are all attainable just from participation and the cosmetics for this Doshaguma challenge are literally just that, cosmetic and barely visible on a hunter's weapon. I can't get an A rank but I actually find it pretty fun to challenge myself with new weapons and load outs that I might otherwise not have given a shot. It beats fighting monsters over and over with my strongest equipment and killing them almost effortlessly. Even Zoh Shia is hardly a problem for me now, so arena at least gives me something to do.

Ishowspeed is like Johnny Somali but somehow actually popular.

I suppose it was a good idea not to hit you with that scene in the very first episode. Won't be as jarring as it was for players who experienced it the first time with the game. That already is a change for the better.

I'm surprised the comment section stayed open for this one considering how politically charged this one might become.

I do need someone to explain tariffs to me again because people kept assuring me that the US citizens would be the ones paying more...but it seems like all the companies are opting to charge the rest of the world more instead.

I just don't see the appeal with the "extraction shooter" genre. What do good extraction shooters do well that makes them so fun?

"extraction shooter" is the fastest way to lose me. Only thing worse would be to call it a "souls-like"

I'd managed to get every 5 star (without W-engines) up until Anby screwed it all up. I'm trying to get Trigger now and hopefully I get her soon so I can start saving towards Vivian.

Yes! I double checked the list 3 days ago and saw that one up there too. I immediately started a playthrough as it's one of the games I really wanted to play. Hopefully I can finish it in time.

These devs are quickly becoming one of my favorites. They have the management stuff down by now, it looks like they're really trying to expand. It'll probably still be a more niche experience but I'm going to be signing up for this one.

I say we forgive them. They owned the chuds. So what if they're making the games Industry worse one rotten business practice at a time?

I'm honestly amazed with the sheer amount of Gachas you play. I just play ZZZ and that already feels like too much.

Incoming messages where people call those that play these types of games every negative name they can think of.

And no I don't play WuWa... mostly because I just didn't enjoy the combat much.

I can't possibly be in the top 10k anyway. The only A rank I can get is with Chata...

Another important thing to note is that the steam deck came out in 2022 and it's cheapest model is actually cheaper than the Switch 2 is...

So they're a gen behind hardware-wise, which is par for the course with Nintendo.

I've found that it's an equal amount of people screaming they don't like something vs people screaming in favor of the thing to try and drown out those who are screaming.

I really hate how the combat has become very very damage spongy and the enemies hardly flinch anymore.

Then when I try to look up advice online, everyone is just horny posting. I sometimes wonder if I'm the only one actually trying to clear all this content.

Success Nintendo is a scary entity. The switch was such a good deal because they were coming off the failure of the WiiU...and the WiiU was such a failure because they were in success mode due to Wii.

People keep saying that we need to adjust for inflation but I'm still waiting for my pay to be adjusted for inflation.

I've really been wanting to play the game again, so hopefully he's right for once.

People who have the time to go on gaming enthusiast websites will often be of two extremes. They either love it and want to post about it or they hate it and want to post about it. The average person will watch the thing, either like it or not like it and just go about their day. Maybe they'll bring it up to friends or coworkers but that's the extent of their interaction with a show. So when you go online to see what people are saying, remember you're seeing the most passionate people in the fanbase, which can feel like they're reacting in the extreme.

So it seems like critics don't very much care for the story, compared to the first season.

It resonates with a big concensus of people who thought the second game's story also took a nosedive in quality.

Continuing to dig into the Monhunt update. I really want to A tank the Rathian fight but I'm struggling with SnS/Hammer.

Mizu and Zho Shia at least offer new play styles with their armors and weapons. They might not be the meta most efficient builds but messing with bubble blight is pretty fun for me at least.

We need one more poll option "I don't even play video games." 😂

I just beat both Mizu and Zho Shia solo but I'm not satisfied with the Zho fight...took me a bit too long and I carted twice so I look forward to mastering it. I expect a lot of failed missions with randos attempting this hunt and I'm there for it.

The arena quests are a real challenge too. Forced to use their load outs means you can't just take your Arkveld gear and tank every hit. One swipe from Rathian nearly killed me. I don't think I'll chase the leaderboard but it's also a fun way to experiment with new weapons and interesting load outs. Overall I think this update was excellent and I look forward to what the future holds for this game.

Nothing wrong with the hero shooter genre, Marvel Rivals is doing spectacularly. At the end of the day a hero shooter is only as good as its heroes.

They really are just pushing out content huh? Makes one wonder what the holdup was with Blizzard.

My plus is expiring this month so I guess it'll be cool to have a few more days before it's gone.

You know which audience Nintendo actually cares about now.

I'm starting to feel like a lot of people that frequent this site are actually just Nintendo fanboys which... would honestly explain a lot.

This is really good for keeping track of DLC on the games you own, so you can pick them up when they go on sale. At least, that's what I use it for.
