Didn't Xbox already stop manufacturing their own discs? I doubt they'd want to put capital into restarting that along with making disc drives. They're hemorrhaging money and trying to make Helix as affordable as possible (including possibly taking their games off Steam to get a bigger cut).

Proof that people don't read the actual articles: trying to drum-up furor about games that aren't even being delisted or fully disabled.

Adding "can't kill random women" to the list of complaints along with "Cortana isn't sexy enough." Isn't Halo about fighting aliens? Why would we need to kill random NPCs?

Everyone complaining about no multiplayer must’ve forgotten the original version didn’t have online multiplayer either. Just local split-screen.

@SBBuds Sure we can! Moneybags Phil bought up a bunch of studios and told them to do whatever they wanted because GamePass would pay for everything multiple times over. Matt Booty then did less than nothing as studios manager. No structure, no guidance, no management, and no budget because, to quote Phil directly, "Xbox has never closed a studio due to profit/loss."

Phil's GamePass strategy doesn't pan out, and it's the now the small studios' fault? Let's see if people on PureXbox have already labeled the 23 people fired as dead weight...

@ShadowRJ It’s been a trend with PS Studios games going back to GOW Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West, IIRC. Ghost of Yotei got it (and still succeeded massively), people here celebrated Saros’ supposed flopping after less than 2 months, and now GOW Lauffey is being called a franchise and/or studio killer. Even Astro Boy was labeled a flop by commentators despite its success. 😅

Maybe they just can’t handle not getting exactly what they want and hope the games fail to punish Sony/the individual studios.

Are we still hyped about this, or has it advanced to the stage were we hate it and hope it flops before complaining about lack of first-party single player games?

As much as I don’t care about PS5 physicals, I want this, Starfield, and Gears of War Reloaded for my shelf

@CRASH64 Lots of internet commenters perceive every company decision as a personal attack. None of the smaller, creative games Sony made in the PS4 era achieved great sales or critical acclaim, so naturally they would shift to what does.

People love demanding games and then refusing to buy them. Buying clearance bin discs so that the devs get as little as possible before complaining about devs going out of business.

Makes sense. Consoles live and die by hardware sales, especially with how cutthroat and sink-or-swim the industry has become.

At least the Japan Studio stuff is all still playable.

Watched the trailer and this seems way too similar to Hotline Miami. What makes it stand out?

I was told that digital games never go on sale, but I have notifications from Deku Deals that 73 games on my PS5 wishlist are now on sale. Is this another glitch?!

@gordonps We’re seeing the opposite of that; supply is far outweighing demand and that’s why we’re getting all these sales on discs

@ThroughTheIris56 This is exactly why I never enjoyed collecting PS4/5 and won’t miss those physicals. I’ve downsized my collection of those to just delisted or PS Studios titles, freeing up space for games that are actually fun to collect.

@ShadowRJ Don’t forget people not wanting to buy games, either via GamePass or waiting until physical copies hit bargain bin prices so devs get as little back as possible

But seriously, I enjoyed MindsEye for what it was and had a great time. Don’t think it was the right vehicle for this creation platform stuff, but I’m down for a deepened single player experience!

@RawnDawn From what I’ve read, it’s been significantly improved since launch. The PS5 version was part of a larger update, as well.

@Papa_Godzilla Absolutely! I never liked collecting PS4 & 5 because of the lack of manuals and flimsy box. I ended up with a ton of them thanks to GameStop “4 for $40” sales and other places’ sales. Now I have more room on my shelf for games I actually enjoy collecting like PS1, 2, and 3.

@Papa_Godzilla I agree! The big, bad announcement helped break me out of my collector/hoarder/impulse buyer mindset.

@Max_the_German The PC handheld install-base is around 1/25th the size of PS5’s and they also cost four figures.

Weapons-grade naivety to expect a platform holder to care about personal feelings. I’m not in a relationship with Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, or whoever… I just play games.

I remember when this first came out on PS3 and people were joking that the deluxe edition comes with popcorn and candy 🤣

That being typed, I am very much looking forward to playing and watching.
