I have bought I: SS from PS store and platinumed it but nevertheless, it's a great game for anyone who hasn't played it.

Child of Light sounds good too. I have played it for half an hour or so when it came out but I never owned it. Solid choices.

I'd certainly download ss as sold my copy after getting the platinum just after launch. I'd like to see the pro enhancements, but may need another year or 2 break as don't often go back. But loved the game never the less

I could see this being true though. They are currently running a fancy new PS+ add over on twitch & YouTube.

Always people complaining that they already have one of the free games. Well as they're old games some people will have already bought them.

@lacerz Not really. The license is part of the price, in fact it's probably most of the price at this point.

Wouldnt be surprised if this was true, and infamous first light has already been given away so will complete the experience for people.

I would be disappointed if it was correct though. Currently playing second son (love it) and finished child of light a while ago on vita.

Still you cant win every month Both are great games and if people havent played them they are in for a treat. It would be a great month from an igc position.

As CoL wasnt cross-buy from memory, hopefully that means something different (and good) on vita this month!

InFamous: Second Son is one of my favs it's a great game and every PS owner should give it a go plus I always wanted to get Child of Light. Hope the rumors are true.

@Sinton well to be fair none of these things are not even Games with Gold that MS do because you still need to pay for Gold to get them

although at least on that you get to keep the 360 games if your Gold runs out (you don't keep the XB1 games though)

@FullbringIchigo I'm not blaming the system. I'm just pointing out that these games are in no way, shape or form "free". There's a reason Sony never calls them free games.

Good news for those who haven't played SS. It came out pretty early in the console cycle so I'm sure there are a LOT of people who didn't play it.
Child of light I don't really care about, but is apparently good? Don't see any reason to bother what with Destiny 2 and my continuing Souls addiction.

I had child of light for Vita, but I don't own Vita anymore. Had kinda forgot about it but pretty fun, I guess it wasn't a crossbuy.

Loved second son. Don't even mind that I've platted it. May go back for another run - may trade in my physical copy if so.

I was always interested in child of light, so I would be down for that.

Really hope this rumour is true. I don't have either and would play both, especially Child of Light.

@Sinton oh true none of them are "free", i would say they are more like "access pass" £40-£50 a year and you have unlimited access to select games

@Mega-Gazz yeah it's Ubisoft but the people complaining don't do any research. They judge a game purely by how it looks.

I'd be dead happy with Second Son. Not played it, and I like the idea of single-player games (like Just Cause 3, too) coming to the fore so I always have something to turn to if I'm indecisive .

I would love if child of light is for the vita 😀 i love playing games on the go i prefer the vita over the ps4 ( i have both) but ps4 is the one getting all the AAA games so...😢 well i do import tons of japan subtitled games for the vita, but have yet to bought child of light

Not interested in Child of Light, and already have Second Son... which despite being the prettiest of the series is also (in my personal opinion) the weakest.

I'm not one to complain about what they offer each month with Plus, but now that you need it for online play, and with the impending price increase, I feel they really need to change up the format to provide options for people who already have or don't want the games. The value of a subscription varies wildly from person to person. They could at least give the option of a couple of movie rentals each month... and I mean any movie on the store, not a pre-selected few.

Truth be told, you don't own any of the software. You get a perpetual license that is revocable.

Child of Light is amazing, I have for both Vita and PS4...

Well I own both of those. I have platinumed Infamous Second Son (easily done and well worth picking up if it turns out to be true) but I do think Delsin is nowhere near as interesting as Cole and the game looks great but also feels very short too. I think I platinumed it in a few days or so.
I really didn't like Child of Light. The art style is ok and the 'dialogue' isn't to bad - at least at first but I did get bored of that very quickly. The game is a pretty average 2D Platformer with turn based combat. It does have some minor RPG elements and meet some characters on the way to join you in your quest - well combat anyway as they only appear when you bump into an enemy. Its typically pretentious but there are definitely worse games.
If this does turn out to be the this months offerings, even though I see no point myself in downloading, it a 'good' month and it gives me optimism for the IGC standards in the future. I may download Infamous though as I think I deleted it from my HD and I haven't had the inclination to re-install to check out the HDR and/or high frame rate options on the Pro.
For newbies to the generation or anyone that missed out on Infamous, especially the PS3 era, I:2ndSon is still recommended. Visually its impressive and its quite good fun whilst it lasts. It did feel quite short compared to the PS3 games and not quite so 'dark' either and, if you have a Pro, one of the 'enhanced' exclusives too.
As I said, I own both, CoL on XB1 when it was given away as a GwG, and whilst it would be mildly disappointing because I own both, its great to see that Sony are offering 'bigger' games at last and giving me more optimism and anticipation for October. its not like I won't have games to play in the next few months...

It's probably true unfortunately for me, I have platinum for Second Son and I've spent some time in Child of Light (stopped playing when something else came up)

I played SS first and I disliked First Light. Delsin has more powers, the city feels more alive and you have more sidequests and trophies. Turf is bigger too.

Own both and absolutely loved them.

Hope that's not the case because I've received games that I've bought one too many times recently. Not Sony's fault, of course. It just kind o of sucks for me.

My only obligatory selfish complaint is that Child of Light actually has cross-buy... between PS3 and PS4 but not Vita. And frankly, if Tearaway Unfolded giveaway made me somewhat hesitant about a repurchase due to the PS4 port's reported extra content, I don't see any info suggesting notable version differences here. So this one may serve as a mere full-sized demo before I get the game on Vita (or it's ported to Switch, whichever happens first). But speaking of demos, I've already tried the Vita one and the game has been on my wishlist since. A rare PS Store item I was tempted to buy physically, but my wallet missed out on the one special edition package I've ever seen in Minsk. All the aforesaid fanbrained whining aside, it's a delicious offering in itself.

And InFamous 2 as well, huh? Another game I find it hard to binge myself up to since the prequel is stuck on PS3, but I dared to wish for more open world games last week and voila! It would be extra ungrateful to look the gift horse in the mouth. And as with Just Cause 3 (which has yet to stutter on me, by the way - guess the rumoured woes have been long patched away) and Freedom Cry this month, you bet I will at least try it and fool around therein a bit. XD

Now to wait and see what more games I will be able to play on Vita next month as well (and what more games I won't be able to play on PS3 unless they're cross-buy as well XD).

By some odd coincidence, Second Son was the first game I played on my original PS4, and the first game I played on my Pro. Definitely looks great on both!

@ohhaime To be fair i bought Knack and i found it less fun then a lot of free Indies then i got. It really shows that it is a launch game and i dont think its a good advert for Knack 2.

Infamous SS was a pretty lousy game.Hopefully Child of Light will be ok.

@dazzlerJJD More like: Nearly every PS4 owner that cares about inFamous, already owns Second Son. Its not some old hidden gem. This makes it nearly worthless as a free title. You might catch a few people that were thinking about playing it but got busy elsewhere, but its pretty much a staple of the PS4. Giving us titles that the majority of those interested, likely already own, is not actually giving us anything.

The indie title is better because its one that most people will likely not have bought (its digital only, and an indie to boot).

@lacerz If the licenses were free, I wouldn't maintain a Plus subscription. I don't play games that require Plus for online, so if the Plus games are bad or really old like in this case, that's just a wasted subscription fee for that month. You hear that? Wasted money. It's not free!

Man this year has been poop for me on PS+ as I sold my PS3 and Vita so get less value than I used to but also I've literally owned most PS4 games already. Will be the same with Infamous and CoL if true too
