@The_Pixel_King yeah I think Sony is really overestimating the average persons WiFi access and capabilities with this thing. At least here in the states where I'd bet most of our infrastructure strives for "just enough."
Hopefully they don't try to cram production and shooting into a smaller window than planned just to make their original release. That's my only concern with the strike... Earn deserved gains and protections from the studios just for everyone to overwork themselves trying to meet somewhat arbitrary targets. Until then though... huelga!
Still, I fell off mid way through 1st season so not too concerned over this one. Looking forward to more games!
@NEStalgia idk, gamepass + acquisitions (of the most popular gaming IPs independently floating about) seems like a strategy of trying to spend Sony out of the market. You can't take whole franchises off another platform and say it has nothing to do with trying to harm that platform. Just because it's falling doesn't mean it isn't part of that plan. Do they wanna expand their mobile and PC? Sure. But to say beating Sony, the competitor trouncing them in the console space, isn't a focus... that's just not in line with the actions they've thus far taken to undermine the options available to PlayStation players.
And I don't see any of this as evil, mind you. MS isn't the bad guy. But that doesn't change that it seems obvious they are trying to leverage their power and size here.
@NEStalgia their buying up of other companies doesn't seem like a slow march toward the goal of market domination? true there's been some meandering and seemingly aimless decisions elsewhere but this hasn't really detracted from a clear overall focus on acquisitions.
@Tharsman I think it does have a basketball on the bottom but yeah other than that, all of the crowns would be lost on those unfamiliar with King James.
I mean, you can demo Ragnarok despite basically knowing what to expect if you've played the first game. So not sure why the idea of a demo is so crazy. Honestly it'd be nice to know what's changed.
I can only imagine where I might be in life if I liked myself as much as Kojima likes himself. Not even sure I'm knocking him here. I'm quite jealous of an existence clearly and completely devoid of any self doubt.
Would have much preferred Injustice 3 and if there's no Cassie Cage (and I doubt there will be) I'm gonna be pretty disappointed but overall I'm excited to see how the game looks.
@thefourfoldroot1 yeah it's pretty bad. Wife and I are fairly seasoned Beat Saberers but we were barely getting through songs with all the missed cuts. It's like the angle of the sabers is off in relation to the hilts. Hotfix is on its way next week though, I believe, so hopefully that fixes things.
This is definitely a contender for pre-order but man I really need to see something besides a cinematic trailer first. NRS has a good record don't get me wrong but we know so little right now I'm surprised by the response.
@WallyWest they seem like cult favorites honestly. Nothing against that either, just not sure these are tentpole titles. Like there's Predator and Terminator type guest characters, then there's Omni-man. One of these is not like the other. Homelander definitely fits MK, however, even if The Boys isn't really my thing.
@WallyWest The Boys, Invincible, and Peacemaker are popular, sure but they are still kinda niche. Just Amazon Prime in general is kinda small potatoes next to some of its peers in the streaming service market and that's where two of these shows are from.
And the Suicide Squad is already side characters, so any spin-off of a side character from a movie about side characters is only going to have so much reach, even if the great James Gunn is involved.
@Heavy_Artilery I don't much care which is better, but I'm not sure any pc around $400-500 is gonna give you much of an experience, VR wise.
I couldn't run Minecraft dungeons from my PC and it was 600+. Which is fine, I didn't buy it for games but this is what people are going to run into when they go the PC gaming route.
Anecdotally, I'm far more picky about buying games at release which hasn't always been the case for me. Horizon is the last ($70) game I bought day one and it's looking like that might be the only one for the year.
Not saying $70 titles is the end of the world but I've definitely started waiting for sales more than I used to.
@Grumblevolcano I can kinda understand when people make this argument regarding other games releasing in a similar window, though honestly fans of Zelda should be reminded not everyone cares about Zelda, but in any case I'm not sure a $60 Nintendo game is anyone's main obstacle to buying a $500+ accessory for a $500 PlayStation.
@EvenStephen7 yeah honestly his answer makes me fairly nervous. Lol, too early to tell sounds like corporate speak for we're losing money but hope it turns around without us investing even more. like, I'm thinking, should I sell mine now and get out from under this time bomb. Because if game development starts to trail off considering how little is already offered, I'm not sure it's worth it.
@JohntheRaptor as someone who is not at all an expert I'm pretty sure that was Shang Tsung as the big bad. With Lui Kang having rebuilt the world peacefully and Shang coming in to defy that peace. Don't even know if Raiden was in trailer but again, I'm no expert.
@Th3solution well she did admit she wasn't a gamer so her calling it a PS3 lines up. My wife called my PS4 a PS3 for years and things got even worse when I got a Pro. Just absolutely no clue.
@ztpayne7 @Cikajovazmaj I bought Soundfall some months back on sale and within half an hour was begging customer service for a refund so, imo, you really aren't missing out on much.
@GADG3Tx87 This really is the bottom line imo. Pretty much every Nintendo I ever owned was for like 1-2 Mario games (per device). That's it. I then bought other games to essentially justify having the console.
@Tharsman @LiamCroft idk, I bought an xbox when I couldn't get hold of a ps5 but eventually sold it because there's very little on offer outside of game pass. Was I going to abandon PlayStation entirely? Absolutely not but could it replace the Switch as my secondary or maybe just become my third console? The potential was there.
@Agramonte it's up to the consumer sure but it's still a non-stop upgrade path where previously, with consoles, that was not the nature of the business. There was no path for upgrades until the next cycle.
What you describe with PCs is yes a non-stop upgrade path whether every consumer buys the new part or not.
@Intr1n5ic I mean we're two years in and it already can't do 4k 60 for what amount to ps4 games. Like, do we need a more powerful console or just time to optimize games for the console that exists is kinda all I'm wondering. Yes, obviously down the road the specs will be grossly insufficient but should they already be? And if so, were consumers not somewhat mislead? So if anyone were asking my opinion, which they aren't, I'd say maybe let's not throw a 5 Pro into an already muddled generation.
But Sony will do what they do. Given the lack of enthusiasm for the PS4 pro, though, I'd be surprised if a PS5 Pro were in the cards. I've been wrong before.
@Intr1n5ic yes games will continue to get better whilst leaving the base PS5 behind. Just seems like a bizarre strategy. And absolutely anyone can buy whatever they want day 1 or day 2000... I guess what leaves me a little bewildered is selling a revamp 4 years into a console cycle that was hobbled for 2 years.
And idk, kinda feel like you're saying some consumers expected 4k/60fps on everything when they shouldn't have but also the console achieves what it claims it can do which is 4k/60fps. You don't see any room for misrepresentation there, depending on the consumer's knowledge?
@Intr1n5ic I'm thinking some of the distaste comes from having bought a system that was never fully utilized before a new system was available. That's, yeah, a bit of a blow. You waited out stock issues and scalpers and finally got your hands on the current gen and a year to year and a half later your console isn't really next gen at all. Meanwhile you got what, Demon Souls and Gotham Knights to show for it? If you don't see how that's kind of a kick in the teeth, idk man. Hell, I can easily afford a new console but geez I barely just got this one.
Also, Sony is banking on people's ignorance with their claims in regards to what the console can and can't do. I'm not sure I'd be too proud of taking their side on that strategy. Kind of with @NEStalgia on this one.
@Art_Vandelay yeah to be honest one of the reasons I haven't been too interested in the SW Jedi games is partly because I find the main character kind of bland. I guess that makes me a hypocrite but, idk, it doesn't have really much to do with his gender but maybe I'm just splitting hairs.
Deacon on the other hand seemed fine I just couldn't get into the game which seemed more a result of two fatigues coming together at once - zombies and open worlds.
This looks pretty bad honestly. Fairly cut and paste "scrawny underdog trains hard and overcomes" story. Looks like it exists for marketing purposes alone. Anyway I didn't have high hopes so no disappointment here.
Really not sure why you'd put a spoiler in the article though.

Re: PlayStation Portal Is Sony's PS5 Remote Play Handheld, Priced at $200 / £200
@LazyLombax yes.... with a phone capable enough to handle that. this cuts out a device entirely no?
Edit: seems like comparing the price of the console dependent psvr2 to a standalone Oculus.
Re: PlayStation Portal Is Sony's PS5 Remote Play Handheld, Priced at $200 / £200
@awp69 the difference is you don't need a phone. for better or worse.
Re: PlayStation Portal Is Sony's PS5 Remote Play Handheld, Priced at $200 / £200
@Jettstyles not same WiFi, just WiFi at the very least.
Re: PlayStation Portal Is Sony's PS5 Remote Play Handheld, Priced at $200 / £200
@LazyLombax but it's not really half the price, it's kinda just a different product at a different price.
Re: Amazing Marvel's Spider-Man 2 PS5 Bundle Announced
Not super excited for Spider-Man but this is exactly the kind of thing I've been waiting on Sony to produce. More of these please!

Yay, more tasteless Bryant branding. They just gonna do this every couple years now?

Re: Kit Your PS5 Out in LeBron James Designed Decals from 27th July
@RobN that's what I figure. cross-promotion and make them limited to sell to spec buyers. otherwise almost no one wants this.
Re: Kit Your PS5 Out in LeBron James Designed Decals from 27th July
Take advantage of massively popular gaming IPs?
Nah, let's do Lebron.
Re: Get These Excellent New PSN Avatars for Free
I'll redeem them, because why not I guess, but these really aren't great.

Kinda waiting on this game to hit Extra honestly. Then I'd buy dlc if it were any good.

@Uncharted2007 or a figurine or something. you can't go wrong with those. digital only items + steel book feels a bit lazy.
