Capcom is keeping its lips sealed as Resident Evil fans finish Requiem and start to wonder: who is Leon married to?

In the final cutscene and a piece of unlockable concept art, Leon is wearing a wedding ring on his ring finger, suggesting he's tied the knot with someone. The concept art in question can be viewed below, with the ring viewable in the bottom-right corner:

The hardcore Resident Evil community now wants answers, as Leon's spouse is never mentioned or hinted at during the events of the game.

Eurogamer has stepped in to try and get an answer out of the company, with director Koshi Nakanishi responding: "The answer will become clear some day, but not just yet. What we wanted to convey in the final scene is simple: Leon now has a 'place to go home to', and we hope you can imagine the peaceful moments he spends there."

Nakanishi then gets quite cryptic, pointing out that Leon is a man "who says very little about the things that truly matter, but he would sacrifice himself without a second thought to save a life right in front of him. So what does his ring signify? Resolve? Or a vow?"

It's then implied Leon himself might never outright say who he is married to, but as Nakanishi's opening statement said, we'll have an answer "some day". Here's how he put it to the outlet: "He may never voice the answer himself, but for now, after finishing a long battle, he has a 'place to go home to'. Isn't that enough?"

There is a possibility we could learn who Leon's partner is in the recently announced Resident Evil Requiem story DLC, which is set to "delve deeper" into the game's world. If not, we'll likely have to wait until Resident Evil 10. Fans can also look forward to a Photo Mode and a bonus mode in the coming months.
