Re: Square Enix Showcases PS5's Possibilities with Tech Demo

sabaki08

The star of this tech demo is the real-time mirror reflection going on.

Graphically I'm not impressed. At first I told myself, this looks on par with the Quantic Dreams and other very very linear horror games, but then I realized those look as good only because they are in genres that save them a lot of processing power.

The thought everyone should have in their mind is that we may get this level of animation, mesh deformation and topology fidelity in real time in other genres, too. Imagine a sandbox with NPCs looking like this.

Re: Yakuza 7 Titled Yakuza: Like a Dragon, Swaps Brawling for Turn-Based Combat

sabaki08

I'm terribly disappointed. I'm a very fresh fan of the series, just beat 0 and was so eager to get through the series to get to 6, which has all that responsive combat.

Now I find that they plan to do away with it. Nothing I can't get behind, I'm sure it will be fun, at least to a certain extent, but still.

At least the writing will be good. I have no doubts on that front. Regardless, there are still 6 games standing between me and 7, so I better start playing...

Re: PSN Name Change Functionality Finally Launches Today and Tomorrow

sabaki08

@tomassi System could be abused, but I hear ya. They could've made it in such way to only be able to change your username once every 6 months.

It's tricky allowing people to keep changing their names. I'm sure it ties into preventing scams and/or other technical problems in certain games. As you can see this procedure isn't butter smooth.

Paying money for that is an incentive to only change your username if you really really want it badly.

Re: Borderlands: The Handsome Collection Ultra HD Texture Pack Is a Whopping 16GB on PS4

sabaki08

OH! This is acutally exciting. I got the collection a few days ago, because I never played any B game, I'm hyped about the announcement of B3 and also because of these 4K textures.

But up until now I thought these were already there. So you telling me the game will look even better? I could not tell the game was in 1080p. Or was the geometry all fine, except for the textures?

Anyway, I'll jump on the PS4 to get the download running.

Re: Guide: Jump Force - All Confirmed Characters

sabaki08

I have missed the BETA completely. How was this game like compared to Naruto Storm? What are the general impressions on it? I'd really like to get it, but I wouldn't want to be disappointed. For reference, I played all Storm games as they appeared. I even have them on Switch and I constantly play them. Really love the gameplay in there.

Re: Poll: Do Developers Betray Fans When Player Choice Suddenly Doesn't Matter in an RPG?

sabaki08

Yes, if player choice is a central part of the game...

BUT in AC Odyssey the choice system was broken. At least in what regards the character. It never had any impact on the character itself, but upon the world. Hence the reason I'm saying that people complaining about the protagonist getting a kid is stupid. Not one choice you take in the game settles a definitive aspect in regards to your character. ALL CHOICES YOU MAKE ONLY IMPACT OTHER CHARACTERS AND THE WORLD!

Supposedly you turned down any sex opportunity in the game, the protagonist always tended to get into flirty conversations with all characters regardless of the gender, which, obviously, defines the character as bisexual. The protagonist DOES NOT have a fixed sexual preference. MOST IMPORTANTLY, people in that era could not care less about that. They only wanted to enjoy themselves.

The protagonist having a kid plays into the canon of the series. Starting with AC Origins they are now adding canon story material in the DLC (which personally, I don't feel too good about that). The protagonist has to have a kid, because it's relevant to the other games, end of the story.

Re: Ubisoft Faces Fan Backlash as Assassin's Creed Odyssey DLC Totally Ignores Player Choice

sabaki08

My general complaint with the game was that I tried as hard as I could to make Kassandra have moral values and I always chose to do whatever was right to do at any given moment, but as soon as the game regained control over the cutscenes Kassandra was always obsessed with money, because, you know, she's a f*cking misthios, a wealth obsessed goddamned mercenary.

But I could get past, that and I can get past this, too. So yeah, I kinda don't care. It doesn't worsen my opinion on the game, but if things were done differently and you could see they worked really really hard to take into account every possible outcome it'd have only improved my view on this game.

RDR2 does that in such a great fashion. Most realistic world I've ever played a game in. Every single action counts, be it in Story Missions or Side Missions. Every single moment is perfectly hand crafted. I've almost beaten AC Odyssey and I can safely say that while there were some nice additions to it, there's simply way too much copy paste. Also, why do they insist in every single game to have such deplorable voice actors for their NPCs? They are not even trying. They have to do the worst possible accents.

Looking over the game design choices in this game, I reckon the end of the series is quite near. I can see how in few years they'll murder the franchise by releasing an AC that's actually an online game as a service, with a huge open world and tons of grinding. Odyssey could have just been that for all I care.

Re: Assassin's Creed Odyssey: Legacy of the First Blade Episode 2 Launches Next Week

sabaki08

@jdv95 SAME! It took me by surprise. I didn't pick the quest from the menu, it just activated and I was like "Sure, let's go there." Then all of a sudden the old man ambushes me and I go "Oh! That's the dude from the trailer! So I'm doing the DLC now."

Really smooth introduction of this content. Usually you have to seek it out yourself.

Regardless, great thing I don't have to wait a lot longer for the 2nd episode.

This story feels very canon and I bet it is. It's really weird you have to get the SP to experience it. Same with AC Origins. The first piece of DLC contained so much canon material, if you're a fan of the series and not get the SP you completely miss it. Wonder if you get the Hidden Blade at the end or something.

Re: These PSone Sneakers Are the Third Best Thing You'll See This Thanksgiving

Found the PG2 PlayStation branded ones selling for 1300GBP, but the regular version of that is close to 100GBP. Regardless of how far life will take me financial wise, I would never spend a thousand pounds on a pair of shoes. You have to be a moron.

Here's something that's way cooler than that and will probably cost less than that:

Re: Just Cause 4 Gets the Grand Theft Auto Trailer Treatment

sabaki08

@roe This ^^^

There's nothing wrong with having fun games where you can shut your brain off to and just have fun, but I still want developers out there to constantly push the industry in never before seen ways.

Really excited for JC4, but I have to start and get through Spider-Man first.

Re: Sony Rolling Out New Gold Wireless Headset This Month

sabaki08

@get2sammyb I went with the Platinum ones. Couldn't be more happy. The only stupid thing with them in my opinion and it could be the case with the new Gold ones as well - you can only charge them via USB as long as the cable is connected to one of the PS4's ports. There's some trick to fool the headset to charge to the USB ports of a PC - you have to go to Device Manager and simply delete the headset's entry, but I couldn't find it.

Re: PS4's Need for Speed Reboot Will Be Online Only

sabaki08

Look at it this way, they are releasing only the multiplayer counterpart of the game. This entry lack any form of single player mode. They only release the online section. It's mean to work only with an internet connection.

People are getting frustrated over resons like "My internet connection may fall at times." That's on you lads. Whenever any of the online games I play are unavailable due to a connection issue, with no problem at all, I return to it at a later time. Is this really the only game you have? Who doesn't in this day and age have a stable internet connection? How can you carry on with your activity on console/PC without the proper updates that are mandatory? Enlighten me, people. This is a mindless complaint, at least to me.

I'm not trying to bash on anyone. I just need to converse with people, hear different opinions and understand why is this such a major issue. Are there people still using their consoles on offline? I red through tons of comments and some lads suggested the reason why always online could be so troublesome is that some people run cfw on PS3 and/or PS4 (I don't know if they made any progress with that on PS4, though) and that's why they are unlikely to go online, because they don't want to get banned. I'm sure most of the rage of this individuals come from users of platforms that allow pirated games. This is so deplorable. If you afford a console, if you afford buying this game, trust me, you afford an internet connection, and a bloody decent one at the very least.
