@Oram77 I know that, I was merely observing when a big game comes out and is playable fully from the disk it doesn't make a difference cause those who buy it digitally still will do that.
Where as with many recent big games people have bought physically thinking they can always have copy of the game even if the consoles aren't online and then find the disk is a glorified key
Nanny state here on push square. I had put a comment (only comment initially) and it was removed as said deck building games are getting as over saturated as souls likes.
I remember getting sonic adventure day 1 when I got my Dreamcast. It was the first console I bought with my own money at launch.
It looked amazing on 1999 and I loved it, played it loads.
It's not aged well at all though.
I agree a remaster would not be a good idea, it would need to be a full scale remake. If they were too do that I'd hope they do it in same engine as the shadow campaign on sonic generations x shadow
I finished the superb Doom TDA on Thursday. Highly recommend. My 2 favourite PS5 games of 2025 so far are published by Microsoft owned studios.
Got Ruffy and the riverside, played about an hour of it. It's not as good as I was hoping so far but does seem fun, I'll crack on with that and maybe try a few other smaller scale games after 2 epic First person games with Indy and doom back to back
@Americansamurai1 they were easier to make back in the day apparently. Less resources needed, less Devs, less money (significantly less money)
AAA games take around 5 years to make now, often more. Even indie games have longer dev cycles than the average big games of the 90s.
Times have changed.
Love it or loathe it but Devs can now patch games to fix game breaking bugs. If they occurred before (around) 2005 in console games then the game remained with them bugs
@Jrs1 you would hope but the originals were sub 30fps and Devs often say that trying to get a game designed for 30fps to 60fps can often break the game.
@Rich33 I played it on PS3 and loved it enough that got it on PS4 too.
Life's too short to deny yourself stuff you like or to try and like what you don't enjoy.
If people didn't jump on bandwagons some games would sell better and others would lose sales as it can benefit some average games if the hype gets behind
@IntrepidWombat my thoughts are with you, I can't imagine a loss like that.
I'm in the same mindset with games, I'm 43 and not likely to suddenly change, don't want to grind and train to make slow progress in a game. I want to enjoy a game and then move on to the next when I'm done with it
@Nye1779 can't go wrong with any of them gems. Silent hill 2 blew me away. Wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. Dead space remake was brilliant 2 but silent hill 2 was a cut above

Re: DOOM: The Dark Ages' Berserker Trophy Finally Fixed, Platinum Now Obtainable
@Jrs1 it's superb. Loved it from start to finish. Best FPS I've played in years
Re: 10 New PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Announced for July 2025
Best month in ages and my subscription ends at the end of July 😂🙈
Re: The Last of Us Part 2 'Chronological' Update Out Today on PS5, PC, Lets You Play Through the Story in Linear Order
@TheFakulty I think it's an awesome game personally so id say you are on for a treat.
I prefer part 1 overall but from a pure gameplay perspective part 2 is the better game
Re: The Last of Us Part 2 'Chronological' Update Out Today on PS5, PC, Lets You Play Through the Story in Linear Order
@TheFakulty I personally think you should play it how it was intended first.
I didn't find it hard to follow.
Only criticism is that it's maybe a tad too long but it's going to be same length regardless.
I would definitely say play it the original way first
Re: The Last of Us Part 2 'Chronological' Update Out Today on PS5, PC, Lets You Play Through the Story in Linear Order
Colour me intrigued.
I was considering another play through of part2 if I have a lull in games to play so now I'll be trying this mode.
This will make it feel very different experience, could even feel like a very different game on regards to story and flow
Re: 'I Much Prefer PS Plus' Lifecycle Management Strategy': Devs Weigh in on Crippling Xbox Game Pass Impact
Gamepass is great for consumers in the short term. If I had an Xbox I'd always have a subscription.
In the long term it's destroying Xbox and could be causing a ripple effect
Re: 'I Much Prefer PS Plus' Lifecycle Management Strategy': Devs Weigh in on Crippling Xbox Game Pass Impact
@TruestoryYep they are porting 1 live service game to Xbox by choice and the baseball game is on Xbox due to the MLB contract.
The games coming to PC are either multiplayer focused if it's simultaneous or wait at least a year when sales are slowing or almost stopped.
Microsoft are going forward seemingly porting most games to playstation and many planned games will launch on same day on Xbox as playstation.
Unless something massively changes you won't see single player AAA Sony IP on Xbox
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 588
@Dman10 it's not bad. I got it at launch and it had some bad tech issues at that time.
Its just no where near as good as it's contemporaries though
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 588
@Kiefer-Sutherland I'm intrigued by this.
A review I just watched implied it's combat is frustrating and looks like it's the lions share of gameplay.
How are you finding the combat and is it 60fps do you know?
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 588
I bought Daymare 1998 last week and started it the other day and enjoying that so far.
I'll be on that I think if I get a chance to play on anything
Edit. It's Daymare 1994 I got. The prequel
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Death Stranding 2?
@Frmknst did they delete you're comment as they didn't like your opinion? Push square are becoming a nanny state.
Agree with push square or you will be silenced 🤣
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Death Stranding 2?
I couldn't get into the first one.
What's the gameplay loop of the 2nd? Is it more akin to a standard open world action adventure than the 1st?
I'm just wondering if there's any hope I'd ever get into it or not
Re: Best inFAMOUS Games
@Dan12836666 that would make more sense if Spiderman was made by suker punch and not insomniac
Re: Best inFAMOUS Games
I loved the inFamous series.
Hope we get a new one at some point or a remastered collection if a new one won't happen.
I personally like Second son the most with 2 being close 2nd then 1 in 3rd first light 4th and festival of blood 5th
Re: PlayStation Is Bringing Helldivers 2 to Xbox, Out on 26th August
It makes sense to get live service games into the hands of as many as possible. Wouldn't put it past a switch 2 port being in development.
Can't see this happening with single player games though
Re: Mass Xbox Layoffs Begin, Everwild and Perfect Dark Both Reportedly Cancelled
Really feel for all those losing their jobs through no fault of their own
It seems Microsofts tactics of trying to build a monopoly to beat Sony was a gamble that these poor people are paying the price for

Re: Sony Still Does Physical Gaming Properly, Death Stranding 2 Fully Playable from Disc
And yet most bought it digitally lol

I really stirred the pot there didn't I 🙈😂
Re: What the Hell Has Happened to Call of Duty?
Im not into multiplayer and think COD campaigns all play the same so not played one since early days of PS4.
Do they still keep respawning enemies until you press forward?

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Death Stranding 2?
I couldn't get into the 1st one. Can't imagine the 2nd will change things enough for me to play it
Re: Xbox Looker Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 Runs at a Slick 60fps on PS5
I'll play the enhanced version of the 1st game and wait for 2 to go under £25 as I've hear it's very short so £50 seems way too dear for me
Re: Mini Review: Ruffy and the Riverside (PS5) - A Cute Platformer with Missed Potential
I like the look of this and seen much more positive reviews.
Anyone know the price?
Seems to be £15 on switch so imagine same on ps5. If so I'll be getting it day 1
Re: Talking Point: Do Early Access Editions Go Too Far for Story Games Like Death Stranding 2?
It's a scummy anti consumer trend.
I don't think it's right for online multiplayer games but it makes more sense than it does for single player games.
I'm sorry but if you pay for early access you have more money than sense and are making sure it's a trend that will continue
Re: Even Death Stranding 2's Luca Marinelli Was Fooled by His Solid Snake Appearance
@Propaperpusher I tried twice with no joy.
Just don't get it
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 586
@LikelySatan yeah I'm not rushing it either.
Love exploring looking for secrets.
The game rewards you constantly and you keep getting new weapon's and runes etc at a good pace.
I wasn't a big fan of eternal but this has been superb
Re: These 17+ New PS5, PS4, PS Plus Games Are Coming Out Next Week (23rd-29th June)
Ruffy and the riverside has the potential to be amazing
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 586
Doom TAD for me.
Loving it. Just pure fun
Re: These 20+ New PS5, PS4, PS Plus Games Are Coming Out This Week (16th-22nd June)
@Jrs1 from a video I've just seen of the series X version the 3d games are 30fps locked
Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About The Last of Us Part 2, 5 Years Later?
It's an absolute gem. I loved it in 2020 and again in 2024 on PS5.
I prefer the story In part 1 but think 2 improves the moment to moment gameplay but has less impact overall than the original

Re: God of War's Rumoured Metroidvania Now Due in 2026 on PS5
@Americansamurai1 you're missing the point.
Delays may suck but they are sometimes needed.
Would you rather get a flawed game now or a good game later?
who would rather have a compromised poorer game just to get it sooner than waiting for one that's had the time it needs to be as good as it can?
Re: God of War's Rumoured Metroidvania Now Due in 2026 on PS5
@Americansamurai1 that's because they are simply bad games.
A good game can be saved with more development time hence why do many games get delayed.
A bad game will be bad no matter how long it takes but a delay can make a big difference for a game with potential.
Re: God of War's Rumoured Metroidvania Now Due in 2026 on PS5
@Americansamurai1 id rather games get delayed and release in good shape than get rushed out as messes.
Sounds like mindseye was rushed and look how that's turned out
Re: Talking Point: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2025 So Far?
I've played 3 awesome games this year. 2 are up there with best games I've played years.
3) Atom fall
2) doom TDA
1) Indy
1 and 2 could swap places by time I finish Doom
Re: Bungie Delays Marathon Indefinitely, No New PS5, PC Release Date Given
I wonder if it missed ird flight via concord?
Hopefully Sony may start taking the hint

Re: These 20+ New PS5, PS4, PS Plus Games Are Coming Out This Week (16th-22nd June)
@Jrs1 Cheers for the heads up.
I'll hold on until then
I'm trying to find out if the games run in 30fps or 60fps but can't seem to find that info out so far

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Can't Stop Selling, Now Tops 10 Million Units
@Rich33 I liked DMC too but I think that's considered a controversial opinion. I don't care. I like what I like even if it's not universally loved
Re: These 20+ New PS5, PS4 Games Are Coming Out This Week (16th-22nd June)
@AhmadSumadi there's a demo you can try on PSN

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for June 2025?
Pretty poor again. I think when it runs out I'll just re-sub a month a time if they offer a good day one launch from now on
Re: These 20+ New PS5, PS4 Games Are Coming Out This Week (16th-22nd June)
@Jrs1 yeah both voice actors for 2 and 3 in the UK versions would be preferable to the US dub
Re: These 20+ New PS5, PS4 Games Are Coming Out This Week (16th-22nd June)
Depending on the price may get gex trilogy.
Tempted by Lost in random too
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 585
@Nye1779 it's a good length too. Took me approx 20hrs but didn't drag and I didn't want it to end either.

Doom the dark ages for me.
It's superb.
I wasn't a fan of eternal so was sceptical about this but f**k me it's so good
