Re: 'I Much Prefer PS Plus' Lifecycle Management Strategy': Devs Weigh in on Crippling Xbox Game Pass Impact

rusty82

@TruestoryYep they are porting 1 live service game to Xbox by choice and the baseball game is on Xbox due to the MLB contract.

The games coming to PC are either multiplayer focused if it's simultaneous or wait at least a year when sales are slowing or almost stopped.

Microsoft are going forward seemingly porting most games to playstation and many planned games will launch on same day on Xbox as playstation.

Unless something massively changes you won't see single player AAA Sony IP on Xbox

Re: Best inFAMOUS Games

I loved the inFamous series.

Hope we get a new one at some point or a remastered collection if a new one won't happen.

I personally like Second son the most with 2 being close 2nd then 1 in 3rd first light 4th and festival of blood 5th

Re: Sony Still Does Physical Gaming Properly, Death Stranding 2 Fully Playable from Disc

rusty82

@Oram77 I know that, I was merely observing when a big game comes out and is playable fully from the disk it doesn't make a difference cause those who buy it digitally still will do that.

Where as with many recent big games people have bought physically thinking they can always have copy of the game even if the consoles aren't online and then find the disk is a glorified key

Re: 'Aw, Nah! This Ain't Happenin'!': SEGA on Potential PS5 Sonic Adventure Remasters

rusty82

I remember getting sonic adventure day 1 when I got my Dreamcast. It was the first console I bought with my own money at launch.

It looked amazing on 1999 and I loved it, played it loads.

It's not aged well at all though.

I agree a remaster would not be a good idea, it would need to be a full scale remake. If they were too do that I'd hope they do it in same engine as the shadow campaign on sonic generations x shadow

Re: These 11+ New PS5, PS4, PS Plus Games Are Coming Out This Week (30th-6th July)

I finished the superb Doom TDA on Thursday. Highly recommend. My 2 favourite PS5 games of 2025 so far are published by Microsoft owned studios.

Got Ruffy and the riverside, played about an hour of it. It's not as good as I was hoping so far but does seem fun, I'll crack on with that and maybe try a few other smaller scale games after 2 epic First person games with Indy and doom back to back

Re: God of War's Rumoured Metroidvania Now Due in 2026 on PS5

rusty82

@Americansamurai1 they were easier to make back in the day apparently. Less resources needed, less Devs, less money (significantly less money)

AAA games take around 5 years to make now, often more. Even indie games have longer dev cycles than the average big games of the 90s.

Times have changed.

Love it or loathe it but Devs can now patch games to fix game breaking bugs. If they occurred before (around) 2005 in console games then the game remained with them bugs

Re: God of War's Rumoured Metroidvania Now Due in 2026 on PS5

rusty82

@Americansamurai1 you're missing the point.

Delays may suck but they are sometimes needed.

Would you rather get a flawed game now or a good game later?

who would rather have a compromised poorer game just to get it sooner than waiting for one that's had the time it needs to be as good as it can?

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Can't Stop Selling, Now Tops 10 Million Units

rusty82

@Rich33 I played it on PS3 and loved it enough that got it on PS4 too.

Life's too short to deny yourself stuff you like or to try and like what you don't enjoy.

If people didn't jump on bandwagons some games would sell better and others would lose sales as it can benefit some average games if the hype gets behind

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 585

@IntrepidWombat my thoughts are with you, I can't imagine a loss like that.

I'm in the same mindset with games, I'm 43 and not likely to suddenly change, don't want to grind and train to make slow progress in a game. I want to enjoy a game and then move on to the next when I'm done with it
