If I had space I'd have a series x or s so could use it as a gamepass machine but I don't and got so many games on PS4 and 5 that it was best fit for me.
It's a shame Xbox as a brand is becoming a 3rd party publisher rather than a rival console trading blows with PS5. It's not good for the industry or consumers in long term
@Max_the_German code Veronica was meant to be 3 but a Sony deal meant the numbered entries had to be on playstation so nemesis was turned from a spin off into resi 3
If one positive comes out of this, it will hopefully be that EA, Ubisoft, WB etc may take heed with their recent live service failures too and all start shifting away from this horrible trend
If it wasn't for the misguided push for live service I imagine both these studios could have released AAA single player games in 2025 if not earlier in Bends case. Absolute shambles by Sony
@Oram77 I had high hopes for welcome to raccoon city but it was good awful in the end. Trying to meld RE 1 and 2 into one short film was a bad idea and no-one was cast or written well especially Leon S Kennedy.
It was still better than Paul WS Anderson ones though
For big AAA releases I'm almost always going to get it physically unless it's digital only as AW2 was in 2023.
Smaller games and decent sales offers I'll get digital version but again in physical is cheeper or same price I'll likely get it on disk.
A recent exception was Astro Bot, I bought it digitally at launch as along with playroom it will always be on my PS5 and don't have to look for the disk when my kid are wife or myself just want a quick blast on it.
I'm concerned the future is looking like it could be a niche thing buying a physical game.
I put my console in rest mode for 2 reasons. 1) in middle of a gaming session and have to stop and don't want to lose progress so enter rest mode so can resume and find save point when I have time.
2) and it's most common reason is to download games etc ready for next time I get to go on PS5
Started Silent Hill 2 last night. Looking forward to getting fully stuck into that. Looks amazing. Playing it in quality mode which is very rare for me but heard frame rates erratic in performance mode. Would rather have locked 30fps than frame rate up and down.
Finished the underrated Lego Horizon Adventures, I really enjoyed it.
Hope everyone is having a good Christmas. As usual I was spoiled for Christmas receiving PSN vouchers and Lego Horizon, silent hill 2 and the quiet place game. And my son got sonic x shadow so got a big selection of games for next few months
Started on Lego Horizon. I'm really liking it.
Silent hill 2 is the main course to play when kid's are in bed and back in school etc.
Lego Horizon is perfect for the mo as it's not going to upset kids seeing a weird nurse monster getting clubbed to death 🤣
Can't argue with Astro as number one as it was my number 1.
It was pure fun, no filler, loads of bits going above and beyond in my opinion. They could have made the console repair scenes as non interactive cut scenes but instead made them brilliant mini games.
My whole family love it and my wife is even trying to make it her first platinum (she mainly plays on switch)
It's probably the most polished game I've ever played as well
@trymer89 I really enjoyed the remaster/remake. I couldn't get on with the original. Awful controls and camera, too dark and the underpowered Wii really let down the art style.
@dardel stellar blade is my surprise of 2024. It was not on my radar at all but tried the demo and it instantly became my birthday present game off my wife.
If Astro Bot had not come out it would have been my GOTY. Loved the combat, atmosphere and soundtrack.
I heard bad things about the English voice over dub but I didn't find it bad at all.
It felt like a PS3 throwback(but a gorgeous one) and to me that's no bad thing

Re: Xbox Rips Off the Band Aid, 'Expect Our Games to Show Up in More and More Places'
Indian Jones is coming. Looking forward to that.
I want Hellblade 2, ori 1 & 2, Halo infinite and a Forza horizon game or 2

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 565
Started A quiet place the road ahead and it's surprisingly good.
Played a bit of Atlas Fallen, gameplay is decent but plot is dull and not grabbing voice acting is very wooden too.
Mat try Like a dragon man who erased his name as looks a good game to give the series a try again
Re: PS Plus Subscriptions on Sale, Up to 35% Off
I'm not getting any offer
Re: Unknown 9 Labelled a 'Failure' as Dev Cancels Project, Moves to 'Existing Bandai Namco IP'
It looks intriguing but heard it's very flawed.
AA games are doomed unfortunately. They rarely sell and many review average or badly.
We're destined for AAA and indies only.
As a large proportion of gamers only buy FIFA* or COD each year some AAA games suffer too it's not good for the industry
*Or whatever it's called now
Re: January 2025 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Available to Download Now
Had 45 mins or so on Atlas Fallen. Played it a bit in 2023 but going to stick with it this time
Re: Resident Evil 6 Appears Set for a PS5 Port
@Bez87 I didn't see this. You put it in more detail than I did 🤣
Re: Resident Evil 6 Appears Set for a PS5 Port

Re: Resident Evil 6 Appears Set for a PS5 Port
@Oram77 3 is harsh for sure. It's the worst mainline Resi game for sure though.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for January 2025?
I tried Atlas Fallen in 2023 but never gave it a proper shot as voice acting was awful.
Heard that the update improves this and other aspects so I'm looking forward to giving that a go as did like the look of it.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 564
Finished the super Silent Hill 2 mid week and just finished Thank Goodness you're here! (Absolutely mental game).
Just bought Crypt Custodian to start today

@Deljo id like to know too. I'm playing it too and I think it's an absolute masterpiece and can't put it down
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 563
@Balaam_ I didn't think she was bad in it to be fair
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 563
@playstation1995 BioShock infinite is superb. The story is the perfect way to tie the series together.
Edited it as not 100% sure if you are replaying it or playing for the first time and don't wanna risk a spoiler lol
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 563
Silent Hill 2. All I can say is wow. It's a masterpiece.
Re: Rumour: Gears of War, Hellblade 2 Both Set for PS5 This Year
Never got into gears personally but can't wait for Hellblade 2
Re: Rumour: Halo: The Master Chief Collection Coming to PS5 This Year
Hope it's true. I'd be buying it. Want Hellblade 2, halo infinite, any Forza horizon games and the ori games too
Re: Freedom Wars Remastered (PS5) - PS Vita Classic Offers a Compelling Alternative to Monster Hunter
@MarkCernysLoveEgg Sony aren't doing freedom wars

@Whately86 nice to see the first comment being so relevant 🤣

@N0CYmr0k id argue if that's a genuine concern for them causing them then they possibly have a very cosy life with no real problems 🤣🙈🤣
Re: Horizon Hatred Simmers Once More As Sony Announces Movie Adaptation
I don't get the hate for it.
If you like the series buy the games, play the games consume another related media as you see fit
If you don't just don't buy/play it and keep your mouth shut.
Seems those with negative views on an IP etc shout loudest and most often

Re: PS5's Astro Bot Now the Most Decorated Platformer Ever with Over 100 GOTY Awards
@UltimateOtaku91 id second you on that.
Re: Almost 3,000 Massive PS5, PS4 Deals Added to PS Store
@Balaam_ I absolutely loved Stellar Blade. Superb game. It wasn't on my own radar until the demo and then I fell in love with it.
It would have been my game of the year if not for Astro Bot
Re: Almost 3,000 Massive PS5, PS4 Deals Added to PS Store
@J_e_f_f__D great game too
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for January 2025?
I'll give suicide squad a go just to do the story mode

Re: Game of the Year: Push Square Readers' Top 10 PS5 Games of 2024
@Toadie hate the term real gamer or casual gamer.
If you play games you are a gamer simple as that.
I personally think you can't beat a platform game. Especially a 3d platformer
Re: Game of the Year: Push Square Readers' Top 10 PS5 Games of 2024
@Toadie @Toadie what a tool he is lol
Re: Game of the Year: #1 - Astro Bot
It's my game of the generation so far. I friggin love it.
Gorgeous looking, runs smooth as butter and plays like a dream.
Re: Happy New Year from the Push Square Team
Happy new year one and all

Merry Christmas everyone. Have a good one
Re: Game of the Year: Best PS5 Indie Game of 2024
Not played any of the top 4.
May try Crypt Custodian and thank goodness you're here
Want to try Selfloss first though

@matekomlosi I'll hold off on that till it's under £20 I think
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 560
@Bentleyma I tried vertigo and gave up as found it very cringey
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 560
@Perturbator love infinite. The ending was brilliant.
DLC was really good too.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 560
@trymer89 I really enjoyed the remaster/remake. I couldn't get on with the original. Awful controls and camera, too dark and the underpowered Wii really let down the art style.
Rebrushed was a great effort

@Neverwild my GOTY 2023. Loved it from start to finish
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 560
I wasn't expecting this but started Coffee Talk and got pulled in. Enjoying the story and characters.
May try Phogs later too and if can get time with my wife to game may try Biped too.
May be in the minority here but been a good month on playstation plus for me. Like trying shorter indie games I may have missed or dismissed
Re: Poll: What Are Your Gaming Plans for the Holidays?
I'm getting a few games but one I'll likely be on most over Christmas is Lego Horizon as it's family friendly
Re: More Than 6,000 PS5, PS4 Games Discounted in Monstrous PS Store Sale
For anyone who hasn't played it yet I highly recommend Alan Wake 2 at that price.
I'll be getting Selfloss at some point I think and maybe cocoon
Re: A Portent of the End Times, Skibidi Toilet Has Come to Fortnite PS5, PS4
My kids used to talk about this crap. I blame YouTube for all this barrel scrapping
