Re: The State of the UK's Physical Games Market Might Explain PS5 Pro's Lack of Disc Drive

rusty82

For big AAA releases I'm almost always going to get it physically unless it's digital only as AW2 was in 2023.

Smaller games and decent sales offers I'll get digital version but again in physical is cheeper or same price I'll likely get it on disk.

A recent exception was Astro Bot, I bought it digitally at launch as along with playroom it will always be on my PS5 and don't have to look for the disk when my kid are wife or myself just want a quick blast on it.

I'm concerned the future is looking like it could be a niche thing buying a physical game.

We all lose if that's the case

Re: Do You Put Your PS5 in Rest Mode or Shut It Down?

I put my console in rest mode for 2 reasons. 1) in middle of a gaming session and have to stop and don't want to lose progress so enter rest mode so can resume and find save point when I have time.

2) and it's most common reason is to download games etc ready for next time I get to go on PS5

Started Silent Hill 2 last night. Looking forward to getting fully stuck into that. Looks amazing. Playing it in quality mode which is very rare for me but heard frame rates erratic in performance mode. Would rather have locked 30fps than frame rate up and down.

Finished the underrated Lego Horizon Adventures, I really enjoyed it.

Hope everyone is having a good Christmas. As usual I was spoiled for Christmas receiving PSN vouchers and Lego Horizon, silent hill 2 and the quiet place game. And my son got sonic x shadow so got a big selection of games for next few months

Started on Lego Horizon. I'm really liking it.

Silent hill 2 is the main course to play when kid's are in bed and back in school etc.

Lego Horizon is perfect for the mo as it's not going to upset kids seeing a weird nurse monster getting clubbed to death 🤣

Can't argue with Astro as number one as it was my number 1.

It was pure fun, no filler, loads of bits going above and beyond in my opinion. They could have made the console repair scenes as non interactive cut scenes but instead made them brilliant mini games.

My whole family love it and my wife is even trying to make it her first platinum (she mainly plays on switch)

It's probably the most polished game I've ever played as well

@dardel stellar blade is my surprise of 2024. It was not on my radar at all but tried the demo and it instantly became my birthday present game off my wife.

If Astro Bot had not come out it would have been my GOTY. Loved the combat, atmosphere and soundtrack.

I heard bad things about the English voice over dub but I didn't find it bad at all.

It felt like a PS3 throwback(but a gorgeous one) and to me that's no bad thing

I wasn't expecting this but started Coffee Talk and got pulled in. Enjoying the story and characters.

May try Phogs later too and if can get time with my wife to game may try Biped too.

May be in the minority here but been a good month on playstation plus for me. Like trying shorter indie games I may have missed or dismissed
