Re: Persona 5 Games Won't Stop Selling, Series Tops 13 Million Sales

koffing

I’ve bought 3 copies of P5R so yeah.. not surprised.

I am open to more P5 but Strikers was a little hollow and I got a lot more from Metaphor.

I want another Persona game that tells a different story. That could be P5 cast in college struggling with being adults. But likely it’s a new coming-of-age story as Persona is about new beginnings.

Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for September 2025?

All excellent choices but a lot of Playstation players are big on brooding souls-like titles or moody action rpgs where you revenge your brother’s killer.

This is a month with a comic-y platformer, THE cozy farming game (which if you like these kinds of games you probably already own), and a puzzle game. So yeah, perfect for me. I got enough drama, I need lolz.

Re: Do You Put Your PS5 in Rest Mode or Shut It Down?

koffing

If I understand https://www.playstation.com/en-se/legal/ecodesign/ rest mode costs Ps5 users in the US around $4/year. That’s not nothing when we think of all the Ps5s but it’s a fraction of a 60w-equivalent LED lightbulb. I wish the article did something to inform people vice just polling for engagement.

MATH

  • 1.2W in Rest mode
  • 10.5 kWh per year (1.2/hour x 24 hours/day x 365 days/year)
  • $4 ($0.4/kWH in Hawaii our most expensive state for electricity x 10.5kWh).

Re: Stardew Valley Sales Appear to Be Increasing Exponentially

koffing

A lot of games don’t feel fun to play.

Cozy games especially have this problem. They look nice maybe they have a good story and some attention grabbing gimmicks that get press coverage but they’re just not enjoyable to play. They get rushed to market before they are ready. The traversal and menus suck. The game can be a slog. They can be shallow or can trick customers into thinking they’re more game than walking simulator (not knocking that genre! I love a good visual novel but if you don’t like it, it can feel like a mean trick.) They just lack attention to player experience.

Stardew is not that. Stardew’s graphics are honest. Stardew has depth. This is an indie game, just polished and iterated and revised over and over again for the past decade. And it’s that labor of love that makes it unique. Oh and it regularly drops to $8-10 for 50-100 hours of playtime easy which makes it an easy recommend. If you like farming games, you’ll probably like Stardew.

Re: All Eyes on Aloy (Again), as Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered Comparison Does the Rounds

koffing

There are some things I like about OG Aloy.

Old Aloy looks like she had a hard life which vibes with the story and setting.

New Aloy, which —sure— is way better from a technical perspective, looks like they are prepping for movie and tv deals. She looks like she’s got a hair and makeup support team. I find that weird and mildly off-putting but I guess you gotta look your best when fighting hordes of dino robots!

Re: How Much Would You Pay for Your PS5 Games? Dev Says Industry Is Waiting for GTA 6 to Hike Prices

koffing

If games just tracked with inflation we would be paying $100+ a game but we avoided that because the gaming audience grew a ton over the past few decades.

👉🏾 That market expansion is over.

And now publishers are put in a position where games cost more but they can’t charge more.

This is a big issue and there is no obvious solution.

It’s both wonderful and terrible as I get low prices 😊 and watch in horror as amazing talent get shuttered and treated like garbage 😥.

Re: Lust Over 16 Minutes of Unedited Metaphor: ReFantazio Gameplay

koffing

Atlas is trying to make a third series to go with SMT and Persona so it’s not shocking to me that they’re trying to earn trust with whoever is on the fence ahead of launch of a new product — especially since publishers are obsessed with preorder numbers. This was also obviously an expensive game so probably also their biggest gamble yet.

Ultimately if PushSquare wants they could just not make an article for each new piece of media that goes live but my guess is they’re getting a good click through rate and engagement numbers.

Re: Best Trails Games Ranked: Which Trails Games to Play and Where to Start

koffing

Having played almost all of them now… I think starting with Sky 1, Cold Steel 1, or Zero are all good options. No need to overcomplicate it.

Starting earlier in the timeline, yes, means you get more of the references and lore and the gameplay systems are simpler, but I don’t think it matters. If you love Trails you’ll probably find yourself playing them again just like rereading a favorite book.

Btw so far Sky 1 was my favorite for story/characters.
