Re: PS Plus PS5, PS4 Games for May 2022 Announced

godofwarj5

I like fifa, there, I said it. I also like madden, nba 2k, nhl 2k, and golf games. That being said, that’s a lot of sports games and I save a lot by not staying current often 3+ years behind. I’m just peachy getting any sports games on 2k because they are probably newer than my versions.

Re: Returnal Team Hopeful PS Plus Extra Members Will 'Dare to Try It'

godofwarj5

Yay! As a ps plus and ps now subscriber, I’m getting a taste of premium until my subs laps. I’m excited to play death stranding as it’s on my bucket list…. I’ll try returnal just because but I don’t like hard games and I shooter games are meh, if the story is good I’ll power through a shooter game….. sooo probably not gonna like it.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Review Bombed After Challenging Week

godofwarj5

I’m a gran turismo fan boy who was massively dissatisfied wit gt6 and shrewdly held myself back from getting gt7…. I’m still whole heartedly disgusted with what they’ve done to the core of the game.
What makes gran turismo great is the single player offline campaign where you feel yourself get gud and are rewarded with incremental improvements to your rides and upgrades. This online only, online multiplayer focus, micro transaction trash is NOT gran turismo.
I’m not sure I’ll ever get gt7

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 418

godofwarj5

Short answer: hfw
Long answer: HZD didn’t click with me in first 10 hours of play and I shelved it. W/ hfw coming out I decided to give it another go. Well, I got the plat last week on hzd and jumped straight to HFW. On the go I’m feeling some katamari on the switch.
Happy gaming to all!

Re: Elden Ring Easy Mode Isn't Happening on PS5, PS4

godofwarj5

@thefourfoldroot I’m with you. Elden ring is the shiny new thing so I’m intrigued… but gameplay based on trial and error is historically annoying for me. I’m not getting Elden ring because I know though it’s shiny and new, it’s the same family as souls. I’m a casual and that’s ok, lol

Re: Elden Ring Easy Mode Isn't Happening on PS5, PS4

godofwarj5

He literally said the point of the game is to feel the joy of overcoming hardship. In that case, NO there should not be an easier mode. Elden ring is not for me. I don’t want hardship in my gaming experience. I’ve experienced what I thought crazy hard bosses and felt that euphoric joy of beating them after numerous attempts…. But I like to keep that a rare experience for me. I don’t want to seek it out specifically by playing souls games. I’ve tried and just can’t get into them.
That said, not every game is meant for everyone, if you don’t like difficult, don’t play Elden ring

Re: PS5, PS4's Revamped PS Plus Sub Allegedly Outlined in Report

godofwarj5

@PS5in2020 streaming and PlayStation typically refers to ps3 games b/c the ps3 is soooo difficult for Sony to figure out how to play natively on Sony’s own hardware…. In 2022, they still are struggling with it.
But to be fair, Nintendo is still struggling with how to play n64 games on newer consoles.

Re: PS5, PS4's Revamped PS Plus Sub Allegedly Outlined in Report

godofwarj5

@TheCollector316 I have both now and plus and honestly, I like now better if it weren’t for the psPlus library on the ps5. Still bundling the two and carrying the most up to date versions of games would be a huge win just as long as I don’t have to pay more than the two existing services cost currently

Re: Poll: Did You Buy Horizon Forbidden West?

godofwarj5

Nope, not yet…. But probably some day. I got it when I got my ps5 (didn’t own a ps4) and I expected one of the best games ever made as it is billed. I got a little ways into it and was underwhelmed. I stopped and went on to other games.
Fast forward to now and the hype for the new one has peaked my interest enough that I’m now giving HZD an honest play through with tempered expectations. So far I am enjoying it more than last time and I’m about twice as far as I was the first time.

Re: Remember to Buy Horizon Forbidden West on PS4, And Not PS5

godofwarj5

I’m totally fine not buying either version. I was underwhelmed with the first 15 hours of HZD (mainly due to my high expectations) and gave up on it. I still haven’t been back to it yet so maybe I’ll try replaying it again and see if I can finish it and if I enjoy it along the way. By that time, maybe I’ll save more than $10 finding it on discount

Re: Surprise! There's a Brand New Call of Duty Game Launching This Year

godofwarj5

Guys, it’s actually really nice that they release a new CoD every year so I know the soldiers in the game have the most up to date stats, skills, etc and the rosters are accurate including the incoming rookies, free agent acquisitions, and retired soldiers. It suck’s playing last year’s game knowing your favorite military team has a vastly different roster in real life.

Re: Poll: How Long Should Games Be?

godofwarj5

My sweet spot is 20 hours. I start to feel cheated when I pay $60 or $70 for a game and it’s less than 10 hrs.
Also 20 quality hours is much preferable to a massive quantity of redundant filler gameplay

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - New Year Edition

godofwarj5

God of war 3 on ps now. I’m in the process of playing through all of them in preparation for Ragnarok. I beat the ps2 and psp games on this play through and have gow3, ascension, and gow2018 left.
I’m also playing my new occulus quest 2. Couldn’t find a psvr or the camera adapter so I just went for it with the occulus for Christmas. Soooo cool and can’t recommend it enough.

Re: PS5 Upgrade for Final Fantasy VII Remake Now Available with PS Plus

godofwarj5

@Voltan lol, why would it? Even if the didn’t offer the ps plus upgrade, you missed out on months of having the ps4 version for free. If they didn’t end up upgrading the ps plus version, well then delete and purchase the upgraded version.
You passed on the possibility of a future free copy of the upgraded game

Re: Video: The State of PlayStation VR in 2021

godofwarj5

@Sil_Am I don’t agree that they need to abandon AR but I totally agree that PlayStation needs to up their handheld gaming. It doesn’t even need to be as powerful as you suggest. The ps vita can remote play the ps4 games…. And the smaller the screen the less resolution matters. Priority on fps and storage should be high. If the console is capable of storing and running ps5 games at a lower resolution and locked 60fps, it’d be a slam dunk for me.

Re: Video: The State of PlayStation VR in 2021

godofwarj5

I tried to get psvr for my ps5 this holiday season and it is out of stock everywhere and marked up online. I also had trouble tracking down the camera adapter for a reasonable price. I have all the ps plus titles they’ve released for it and a couple other games psvr compatible.
Because of my difficulties finding it, I went with quest 2. Less games available but they are improving and the tech is far superior to psvr

Re: Horizon Forbidden West's Stunning Sci-Fi Ecosystem Unleashed in PS5, PS4 Trailer

godofwarj5

@Uromastryx not really. I’ve heard several people say they just couldn’t get into it, and again several that said they had to start the game and get bored befor restarting it several months later before they got hooked.
Maybe I just really don’t like the beginning, maybe I just don’t like the game….
For the positive: I love the way it looks visually. And I’m super happy for those who enjoy the series to be getting a second game.

Re: Soapbox: I Think I'm Over Trophies

godofwarj5

Trophies are fun. I only go after ones on games I really like and I’m close to platinum after I beat the game. I’ve only got 4 platinums but I enjoyed going the extra bit on those titles.

Re: Best Sports Games for PS4

godofwarj5

PGA21 is a great golf simulator that feels like half a game. I was hoping for a Tiger woods type game and I’m good with them going more realistic…. But the lack of player progression is really a bummer.

Re: Site News: NBA 2K22 PS5, PS4 Review - Where Is It?

godofwarj5

I like 2k gameplay…. I haven’t been interested in online play for over a decade because how they’ve handled it.
So what I like to do is wait till the new one comes out and I buy last year’s game used for a deep discount. Always stay 1 yr behind and don’t contribute to 2k’s antics.
I know already how my favorite team did the previous season in real life and I see if I can do better than that.
