Re: Yes, Sony's Still Teasing a Crash Bandicoot Reveal

drpepperdude100

@Flaming_Kaiser It's a more universal type of game than most of the stuff they have put on the PS4.

Wiki Quote:

In 2009, GamesRadar included it among the games "with untapped franchise potential", commenting: "A massive, epic RPG designed to compete with the then-juggernaut Final Fantasy series, Dragoon actually succeeded in its task. It was just as beautiful, nearly as deep, had a touching story, and actually improved upon FF in a few ways (avoidable random battles, for example). (...) [G]iven The Legend of Dragoon’s cult status among PlayStation loyalists today, we’re astonished that Sony has allowed this series to fade into obscurity."

On December 22, 2010, Sony released The Legend of Dragoon on the PlayStation Network. The North American version was released on May 1, 2012. The title was the best-selling PSOne Classic for three months, remaining in the top 5 for five months.

Re: Four More PS2 Games for PS4 May Have Leaked

drpepperdude100

@vagineer1

The problem I have is that we will never see any Activision games if they do only digital which means none of these games will ever be playable:

Tony Hawk games PS1/PS2
Spider-Man games PS1/PS2
True Crime series

Also besides Activision games these ones too:
Dragon Ball Z games
WWE games

Probably a lot more than just these more popular series of games too. Actually Sony never even added MediEvil II or the Ape Escape series to PSN on PS3 either.

Re: PS2 Games Are Coming to the PS4, Sony Confirms

drpepperdude100

I don't understand why the Tony Hawk's Pro Skaters 1-4 have not been released as PS1 classics already. It makes no since, I was able to rip the discs to play them on my custom firmware PSP and they ran perfectly fine so it must come down to Activision making it happen. Which is why I don't expect any Tony Hawk PS2 games to show up on PSN either. This means we definitely need Disc support!

Re: Review: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 (PS4)

drpepperdude100

Firefight mode was also in the first Underground, it wasn't new for Underground 2. Honestly I would be happy if they just re-released Underground with online servers, it sucks that I can't play it online on PS2 anymore.

Re: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 Breaks Its Neck on PS4

drpepperdude100

I love Pro Skater 2 but my favorite in the series will always be Underground. They just about perfected the gameplay and the music was top notch punk/rock music with some rap music even I like which is rare. Pro Skater 5 is based on Pro Skater HD which is based on outdated code from the originally Pro Skaters and it feels outdated compared to Underground. But this video doesn't prove it's extremely glitchy. All of these glitches happen after you fall off your board so they don't even matter and I find them funny rather than a bad thing. Graphics wise it's good enough but the gameplay is lacking compared to Underground and the lack of story mode makes the $60 price tag too high. Heck Underground 2 had the Story mode and classic mode so this game feels too high for what you get. Of course if this game makes its money back maybe they will make a Underground 3 which is what I've been dreaming about for the last 10 years before the games after wasteland trashed the series with horrible gameplay decisions. Actually Wasteland was the start of the gameplay evolution going in reverse but I still give Wasteland a pass because the story mode was good and it had plenty of features.

Re: Soapbox: PSone Has Just as Much to Offer Today as It Did 20 Years Ago

drpepperdude100

@Tasuki I used to have a huge PS1 collection but I put them all in a zip up case and it was stolen like 10 years ago sadly ( Spyro was in it ). I have like 2 or 3 of The Legend of Dragon discs but they are so scratched and definitely won't work so I just used a thumbtack to hang them up on the wall. I still have my PS1 though but none of my favorite games for it other than Spider-Man 2 and the worst DBZ game I've ever played lol. Digitally I own most of my favorites like MediEvil and The Legend of Dragoon though. I would love to get Ape Escape digitally but I don't think it's on the store.

Re: Don't Hold Your Breath for a New PlayStation Handheld

drpepperdude100

@Picola You just basically shown why Nintendo's portable sales have fallen so low when selling less than what PSP did is considered good for Nintendo. Everyone always says the Vita is a failure because it didn't sale as good as the PSP well the 3DS didn't sale as good as the PSP either let alone the DS.

Re: Review: J-Stars Victory VS+ (PS4)

drpepperdude100

@ToddlerNaruto Yeah I've never bought a game without English voices except for a PS1 DBZ game that was the worst DBZ game I've ever played lol. I used to watch anime that didn't have dubs yet with subs but I realized that looking at the bottom of the screen instead of at the action was making me miss details from the actual animation. For example when I went back and watched the last season of Bleach with dubs it almost felt new to me because even though I had already watched it with subs I understood it more with dubs and was able to watch the interactions in better detail instead of reading text. Of course if I could speak Japanese I would have no problem watching the original Japanese versions but I don't so the Japanese voices sound extremely weird compared to English voices, especially the girl voices.

Re: Review: J-Stars Victory VS+ (PS4)

drpepperdude100

@vegeta11 There are some bad voices but I still find hearing a foreign language and reading distracting subtitles is a far worse experience to my English hearing ears. I used to watch lot's of anime with subtitles but now I just wait a few years until I can buy the dubs.

Re: Review: J-Stars Victory VS+ (PS4)

drpepperdude100

@tudsworth I hate having to look at the bottom of the screen to understand what the characters are saying, it feels like it's distracting me away from what's actually going on. As far as cost I think the DBZ characters alone would easily get people into the game but not with the Japanese voice actors.

Re: MediEvil Fan Puts a Nail in the Coffin of PS4 Comeback

drpepperdude100

Sad News... It sucks that Sony has abandoned all of their PS1 IPs. But I guess that's not surprising since they don't even support PS1 games on PS4.

But what's even more surprising as a huge PlayStation fan since the beginning(I own every PlayStation and Portable PlayStation) is the fact I'm starting to hate them. I think what started it all is when the teasers for PlayStation experience were shown on YouTube and they teased games like The Legend of Dragoon yet not a single classic game they teased was even shown except a horrible port of some Final Fantasy game. Then following that disappointing event I had some of the worst experiences gaming on the PS4 in the following months. So many horrible triple a games that were buggy, and PSN couldn't handle a single thing thrown at it either. I guess the only reason they allow buggy triple a games to be released on their platform is because they release some of their own games in the same condition. Nintendo games on the other hand always seem to make sure their own games are always top notch at release. I would have easily just switched to the Wii U but all of their few 3rd Party games look and run like trash. PC gaming is just a hassle and Xbox is the same as PS4, disappointing.

Re: Uh Oh, Watch PS4 Exclusive Bloodborne Take Over 40 Seconds to Reload After Player Death

drpepperdude100

@rjejr You seem to be delusional into thinking PS3 games can be played on PS4 and Sony is just charging you to do it. I'm sorry to tell you the weak a$$ PS4 is not capable of emulating PS3 games and I'm not even sure it could emulate PS2 games worth a crap. They have to spend money to remake their PS3 engine into a PS4 engine and if you didn't know the PS3 Cell is a piece of trash. PS4 is an example of what happens when you go with the weakest CPUs on the market while also going with the weakest brand of CPUs. If PS5 has the same PC tech it won't have to emulate the PS4 which means it could just play the games and they definitely wouldn't charge you to do it.

Re: Review: MediEvil (PSone)

drpepperdude100

Wow what a bad rating for one of the greatest PS1 games of all time. All the issues you outlined apply to almost every single PS1 game. I went back and played a few and the controls are horrible compared to todays standard but back than it was great. Crash Bandicoots controls feel even more outdated than MediEvils.

Re: Interview: LittleBigPlanet 3's Stellar Soundtrack Is Already Winning Awards

drpepperdude100

@mikey85 So many games are being rushed out buggy and it sucks. But hopefully they fix them with patches. LBP3 PS4 version has crashed on me a few times and I have glitched through a few walls/floors. Also there is a bug with the popit menu where if you have a few screenshots for LBP3 and you open that menu it can cause lag. Actually I heard about the bug I just mentioned on a website and decided to see if it would happen on my PS4 and it did. It lagged and actually crashed the game which no one had mentioned it would crash the game.

Re: PlayStation Vue Is Sony's Very Own TV, TV, TV Service

drpepperdude100

Hopefully it's not over priced like Time Warner Cable. We are paying $180 a month for cable, internet, and phone. If I remove the phone option the price stays the same because I am in a so called bundle deal. The internet sucks and they give you the most outdated cable box I have ever seen. If this service by Sony isn't that expensive I may just remove the phone and cable and get Sonys service. I can't get rid of the internet though because Time Warner Cable is a monopoly in my area and I have no other options. I hate the Internet providers in the US, they are all monopolys with bad service.

Re: PS4 Rest Mode Boot Problems Prompt the Strangest Fixes

drpepperdude100

The PS4 I have must be a beast because it has never had any issues except for when the power when out while I was playing and then it wouldn't turn back on. But it came on after a while of unplugging it and plugging it back in. Besides that and PSN issues it has been all good for me.
