Re: Preview: It's Virtually Impossible for Armored Core 6 to Fail

@twinspectre90 Darn right! KF was incredible at the time and still in many ways holds up (other than taking 10 seconds to turn around lol). I would be more amped for a KF remake or new KF than any other game someone could come up with. My fave is probably KF2, but I love them all (I still have to beat the original Japanese KF, which never released here).

@Darude84 Was it supposed to justify the new consoles? Seems like this game is exactly what it should be and what you would like it to be — a palate cleanser. I'm sure the developers know that.

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the Final Fantasy 16 PS5 Demo?

@NeonDint Thanks for posting this. I already was not happy about the damage numbers popping up all over the place in the bits of overly busy combat I saw; if foul language abounds, I don't need to waste my time with this (which is great, as my backlog is pretty nuts, despite getting through a chunk of it over the past few years).

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Street Fighter 6?

I loved SF2 and its variants in the early to mid 90s but can't get into the sequels for some reason. Also, similar to racing games, I've generally lost interest in fighting games, perhaps because there are simply so many releases in other genres nowadays that I seem to prefer. Maybe I'll get SF6 on a heavy sale in the future, just for kicks.

Re: Poll: How Was Final Fantasy 16's State of Play Showcase?

Once I saw "Mature", with "Strong Language", among other stuff, I was skeptical (if I really need to hear cursing, I can go outside in public and listen to countless inconsiderate uneducated teens to 30-somethings). Now that I've seen the video, I'm convinced I want nothing to do with this game. Overly busy, flashy, noisy, just a pure assault on one's senses that comes off as painful.

Re: Soapbox: Watch Another 20 Minutes of Final Fantasy 16? You Must Be Mad

@kyleforrester87 Agreed. Also, I've asked a couple friends if they think Octopath's progression structure is unconventional, and I got responses ranging from "I'm not sure how" to "Quite the opposite". It seems pretty typical and FF-like to me, but I haven't received a clarification from Ralizah. Regardless, the Octopath games are incredible.

@Ralizah To be fair, I've only played FF 4, 6, 7, and 10, but you do travel with multiple people in your party in Octopath and can switch them out, just like in the FFs I played. I know you can only see one person at a time though, and the story focus is on that person during that part of the story, but I didn't see that as a negative; I guess others disagree, which I can respect. I actually preferred the fighting mechanics in Octopath, as I found them to be more thoughtful/strategic than FF, but to each their own. I'm curious as to what you mean by the progression structure.

Re: Media Molecule to Cease Live Service for Dreams, Now Working on a New Project

I tried it for a while. Unfortunately, most of the things that I tried were glitchy/unfinished. I was also hoping that would be a much greater selection of retro-inspired creations, such as let's say a Donkey Kong (arcade version) game with numerous levels, or a huge updated version of Atari 2600 Adventure. Seems like Dreams would have been perfect for that kind of thing, but nobody was interested. Guess it arrived a couple decades too late.
