@Veritas7Ax I'm concerned about that, as well. Hoping the trailer was more of a shock value attention-grabber and that the whole game will not be like that; I can't imagine it will.
Two new Tomb Raider games that look AWESOME
Larian's new game
New D&D game
Two new Star Wars games that look promising
Bradley the Badger looks fun
Decrepit looks like King's Field kind of but probably too creepy for me, still pretty cool
New Control game is another very solid game
Follow-ups on Exodus, Phantom Blade, even Lego Batman were all really good
Pretty sure I'm forgetting something
Best show by far — Keighley even wore DRESS SHOES with his suit, instead of sneakers! Was a way more classy professionally executed show, and speeches were short and sweet.
And the reveals rocked! Blew away any other shows by far. Probably the best collection of reveals since Sony's E3 show in 2016. It's just that much of it was spoiled in advance.
Overall, excellent. And I kind of hated The Game Awards before!
Whether we find out through leaks or on the actual day of the show, it's still a fun surprise, whatever turns out to be legit.
Like others on here, I tried the two Divinity games after BG3 (which may be my fave game all time, versus Elden Ring, although I may be influenced somewhat by recency bias), and it did not go well — they started out fine but got tiresome about halfway through, and the character development never really progressed like it did in BG3. That said, hopefully Larian learned a lot of great lessons from their BG3 development, and Divinity 3 turns out as good or better than BG3 (although I doubt it can quite reach that high a bar without the D&D license).
There really is almost no reason to buy a game day one anymore. At this point, especially with my backlog, I'm just waiting for sales and patches for the most part before buying. I might make an exception for a (single player) From game, but that's about it. (Well I guess Nintendo first party titles also, because their games never go on sale and generally are not patched.)
DE used to be stellar, but even Atari 50 has bad audio lag on all platforms. I contacted them directly, and they not only were unaware of it, but they did nothing about it once informed.
I think it's really unfair to lump Korean and Chinese dev teams in together; they are very different peoples and cultures, and thus far, Korean devs have shown much more mastery over the hardware and have come out with better and less wonky games. I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out.
Edit: I hope it's much more than just a boss rush, though!
@PuppetMaster Fair points. Perhaps a rephrase — this generation, Sony has released fewer first party games that appeal to me, per year, than PS4 has, which makes it doubly concerning to me that nothing new was announced I can look forward to. I'll try to stay hopeful!
@naruball I think there's fair criticism to be had here, and actually a whole of it to be directed at Sony lately. It can be called whining, but we've all invested our money into a product we want to offer good support, and this gen Sony has been largely dropping the ball.
@get2sammyb @Marquez In the movie, the narcotics were hidden in teddy bears, so this is consistent.
And my concern is this will be like Arkham combat but a far too easy version of it, based on previous Lego games (which generally I do not like much, including Skywalker Saga sadly).
@Oram77 Totally disagree. I personally think the FF7 remakes are bloated games with far too easy combat. SE needs to go back to basics, and hopefully this meeting will get them going in that direction. Hopefully they aren't buying Sandfall out...
@wildcat_kickz I wouldn't say it sucks at all, but it really is kind of laggy and wonky compared to a lot of other action games. I didn't hate it by any means, I still had fun, but it could have been substantially tighter.
It's overall a very good but overrated game. The ending for me was really poignant and added a lot to my overall positive feelings. But it's too open with an overwhelming amount of quest markers, the cutscenes are far too many, and the combat is a bit awkward and loose compared to something like Souls games, FF16, God of War, and quite a lot of other games. I'd say it's an 8.5/10. It's not close to my Top 10 games all time and very likely is not in my Top 50. It's good to great.
Enemies scale with you = no buy. Same reason I don't play Skyrim. It makes progression/leveling worthless. Can't believe I'm the only person among all these comments to mention this.
@RawnDawn The game doesn't really take off until you've gathered your party members after the crash. I know multiple people who gave up prior to that. Try to push through further. Also, for the most part, the longer you play, the more interesting the game becomes, as you get more diverse skills, more characters, and more interesting plot reveals and enemies.
Took me over 300 hours to complete a single play-through on hard difficulty — and I didn't lose many battles or get stuck forever on bosses. The game is just so vast. I love BG3, it's definitely in my top two or three of all time, but there's no way I would replay it with it being that long. There's just way too much other good stuff out there and on its way.
Pretty amped about this! I love that they went first person and wish we would get more first person non-shooter games (personally, I miss King's Field a ton).
I own both but onlyplayed Remake. While I enjoyed certain aspects of the game, but the big problem for me was that it was not remotely challenging. The combat was just far too easy. I also found the end sequence in the building rather dull and tedious, so I actually quit the game about 10 or 15% before it was over. I would put it somewhere between overrated and disappointing.

Divinity 1 and 2 didn't play great after BG3 unfortunately, but I'm excited to see what the new one is like.

Was a GREAT show for reveals.
Re: Poll: How Would You Rate The Game Awards 2025?
@FantasyExplor3r88 (and many others above) Seriously, what?! What show were you watching — no bangers?... just baffled, man.

Re: Mystery Game Awards Reveal Is a New Divinity RPG, as Riddle Is Finally Solved
Surprised that people are disappointed. BG3 was a massive hit and frankly incredible. Divinity 3 would be pretty huge news, imo.

@Th3solution Great point on the camera!

Re: This Underappreciated PS4 Fighter Can Be Yours for Less Than a Dollar
$1 is super tempting, but I almost never play the fighters I already own.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Essential Games for November 2025?
I'll take a free racer. I pay for PS Plus for cloud saves; anything else is a bonus.

I remember having a ton of fun with the first two at the time. Happy to see these get ported!

I might try it again. The massive input lag made it unplayable before. And that was on Pro.

@ButterySmooth30FPS I'm talking about new announcements. Things to expect going forward on PS5. Are we waiting for PS6 now? We might be.
Re: Round Up: What Was Announced in Sony's State of Play Livestream for September 2025?
Changed my mind on Wolverine — way, way too gory, so that's out.
Saros is Returnal 2, and I didn't like Returnal.
Zero new first party announcements concerns me a lot.
Basically, there was nothing for me here.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on 007 First Light?
@KidRyan You've seen one third of the Bond films. If you're a big fan, I would suggest seeing the rest — or at least a majority — of the movies.
Re: Poll: Are You Sold on 007 First Light?
@KundaliniRising333 I'm curious what you meant about Indy.
Re: Poll: Are You Sold on 007 First Light?
I just wish he didn't look like such a smug jackass.
Re: Poll: What Are Your Thoughts on Metal Gear Solid 5, 10 Years Later?
Overrated game by an overrated game designer

Actually, it's a reminder that Xbox lost.

@Michael2008ish Card game is completely a side thing, you can skip it.
Re: Poll: 10 Years Later, What Are Your Thoughts on The Witcher 3?
@wildcat_kickz I can respect that, and it's a thoughtful and sensible point of view from a role-playing perspective.

Octopath II is the best thing they've made in a long time. Guess we won't be getting another one any time soon.
Re: Square Enix Demands Bigger Games, Faster Development as Sales Continue to Slump
They're doing the exact opposite of what most of us want...
Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Indiana Jones and the Great Circle?
I'd say 8.5, but it's probably a 7 if not for it being Indy. Didn't vote in the poll, as I'm not done yet.
Edit: I progressed further. I think the game is a 9 or 9.5. Without Indy it's probably an 8.5. It's just getting better and better.
Added: I finished the game. I'm going to say it was an 8. Very good to great but of course it's because it's Indy.

@somnambulance BG3 is probably my number two game all time after Elden Ring, but I have zero interest in KCD2.

Re: Baldur's Gate 3's Massive Patch 8 Arrives Next Week on PS5, Adds Subclasses, Cross-Play, Photo Mode, More
Amazing amazing game but way too many other games to play to replay anything.
Re: Poll: 5 Years Later, How Do You Feel About Final Fantasy 7 Remake?
I own both but onlyplayed Remake. While I enjoyed certain aspects of the game, but the big problem for me was that it was not remotely challenging. The combat was just far too easy. Re: Nintendo Is Displaying Hubris Which Would Make Even PS3 Era Sony Blush
@Dorfeus The real PS3 was $599 at launch; no one bought the $499 20 GB version lol
Re: Nintendo Is Displaying Hubris Which Would Make Even PS3 Era Sony Blush
@Zeke68 Fair, but the point remains that the PS3 was far more expensive in its day than the PS5 Pro in its day.
Re: Nintendo Is Displaying Hubris Which Would Make Even PS3 Era Sony Blush
@Nem Well to be fair, Push Square was doing the comparing. My point was that you cannot compare the two. So you are supporting my point.
Re: Nintendo Is Displaying Hubris Which Would Make Even PS3 Era Sony Blush
@Zeke68 Okay... but I'm guessing PS3 was way more expensive in Sweden in 2006 if you consider inflation, as well.
Re: Nintendo Is Displaying Hubris Which Would Make Even PS3 Era Sony Blush
To be fair, $599 in 2006 would be roughly $945 now. So the PS5 Pro at $699 is not remotely comparable.
Re: Bloodborne's Switch 2 Spiritual Successor Could Come to PS5 Yet
Passing on this, regardless of platform. as I have no interest in multiplayer From games. I'll wait for the next single player entry.
