Re: You're Not Going to Be Able to Watch EastEnders on the Vita Any Time Soon

chazaroonie

@belmont I've never looked into having it repaired, everything else works fine, haven't thought to use speakers. I'll give it a try. The screen seems pretty tiny next to the vita now though and it feels so big in your hands. Still fills me with joy every time I pick it up as it brings back memories of playing Olympic gold multiplayer on the school field. I have the master gear adaptor and a magnifying attachment too. I was all over the GameGear.

Re: Can UK's Broadband Cope with PlayStation Now?

chazaroonie

I work for the communications ombudsman and deal with complaints about broadband speeds on a daily basis. Interestingly, there is no requirement for service providers to offer download speeds over 28kbps, which is equivalent to dial-up. Furthermore, some customers who opt for fibre optic broadband have a fibre optic cable from the exchange up to the green box on their street, but then have to put up with a copper cable from the green box to their home. It would require major legislation to change this, but there is no indication that this will happen any time soon. I currently enjoy, 4.5mbps dowload speeds on a good day so it appears as though I will be unable to use PlayStation Now. For now anyway.

Re: Rumour: Is The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Wandering to PS4?

chazaroonie

IGN has reported that Bethesda VP of Development, Peter Hines, has taken to Twitter to clear-up the issue:

We have been working on the CMS that runs our sites. A bug caused platforms that don't exist to show up for some games Sorry for confusion.
— Pete Hines (@DCDeacon) January 9, 2014

I'm a bit gutted really, I would have loved stepping into a next gen Skyrim. Oh well, I'll have to wait for elder scrolls online.

Re: You May Be Touring the Dark Dungeons of PS4 Exclusive Deep Down After All

chazaroonie

The trailers for this have looked pretty impressive and have piqued my interest but I don't think we know enough about it to get too excited. I'm hoping for more news in the coming weeks/months that will excite me and make deep down a must have. The free to play titles so far released on ps4 haven't grabbed me as much as I thought they would so here's hoping this can buck that trend.

Re: Soapbox: Assassin's Creed's Modern Day Component Is Holding the Series Back

chazaroonie

@Gamer83 I feel the same way really. It was nice in the early iterations of the game to jump into Desmond for a while to break up the gameplay and I thought it was an interesting diversion in the story.

I thought that we'd end up playing an assassins creed game in the present day or near future as Desmond, running around a modern day city and I was totally on board.

The current games have kind of ruined that initial buzz though. The "out of animus" sections now feel disjointed in my opinion. I wonder if Ubisoft have made a rod for their own back though and now feel that removing these parts of the game will make the current games non assassins creedy, if that makes sense?

I think that if you could opt out of leaving the animus, this would be a compromise that everyone could agree to. It can be a buzz kill being forced into the modern day when you are trying to get on with the job of pirating.

Re: Your Mum's Terrified You'll Be Spending Christmas Playing PS4 Exclusive Killzone: Shadow Fall

chazaroonie

Loved both of these games but I'm an adult. There are ratings on games for a reason. My stepdaughter's boyfriend is 14 and plays 18 certificate games. I think it's poor parenting to allow childeren access to adult material but every parent is different. What offends one person amuses another. But many people still belive gaming is a child only passtime which is something that I believe needs to change.

Re: Review: Just Dance 2014 (PlayStation 4)

chazaroonie

@Confused_Dude I agree, some footage of the review would be appreciated. Might help make my mind up. I can see twitch and u-stream becoming inundated with user videos of their own dancing abilities. Especially with a bit of christmas cheer to loosen them up.

Re: Talking Point: Do the PS4 Controller's Gimmicks Add Anything Worthwhile?

chazaroonie

I like the light bar and I think the touchpad is a genius idea. In Killzone it essentially adds 5 extra buttons to the pad, up down, left, right and... in I guess is the best way to put it. PC gamers are always talking about hotkeys and the like making their games better, so I think the touch pad could end up being a game changer. I do hope so, I think the dualshock 4 is an inspired piece of kit.

Re: The Elder Scrolls Online Will Consume Your PS4 in June

chazaroonie

Skyrim blew me away!! It really did change the way I view games. This looks awesome too. I take on board the subscription fee point that Sammy makes but if it's a good enough game then I'll happily pay a nominal fee to play online. You only have to pay while you are playing, there won't be any minimum term agreement I'm pretty sure of that.

Re: Video: Will PS4 Launch Title Knack Grow on Gamers Like Uncharted?

chazaroonie

I wouldn't be surprised if this did achieve a kind of cult status, which may help future iterations of the game. I do feel that many reviewers look at games from their own standpoint and not necessarily from that of the target audience. I think to get an opinion from a child regarding a child's game is a great idea. I haven't played Knack but was considering it as a launch purchase. The poor reviews scared me off though and I bought need for speed rivals instead. Reviews are great as a guide, but people generally react in their own way and one person could love something that someone else hates. I may be tempted to try this at a later date when the price has come down. I liked Contrast, I thought it was a charming little game and the critics pretty well slated it.

Re: First Impressions: Shining a Spotlight on Free PS4 Shooter Blacklight: Retribution

chazaroonie

@ZSKyle Thanks for the reply Kyle, its very refreshing to receive a comment from one of the game's developers and great news that a patch is coming to help with matchmaking. I was really looking forward to playing Blacklight: Retribution as from what I've read it's one of the stronger free to play titles. I understand why people are unhappy having to grind or pay for better kit but what do they expect with a free to play game? I'm loving the chance to try new free to play gaming experiences on ps4 and salute Zombie Studios for leading the way on that front.

Re: Doki-Doki Universe Bumbles an Iconic Bass Line This Month

chazaroonie

Ah, I was under the impression it was only free to play. I didn't realise there was a paid version as well. I think the trailers look great and I love the basic design, its so cute. Can't wait for the reviews to start coming in, I'm looking forward to finding out more about this one.

Re: What's New on PS4? The Social Feed Has Been Switched Back On

chazaroonie

I like it a lot, it's a mixture of Facebook's news feed and the feature on Vita on the home screen for each game. I think there should be a way to filter the information though. I'd like to be able to create folders in the new xmb too. I can see it getting tiresome down the line when I've got lots of games. I'm not the first to have commented on this feature though.

Re: Feature: Is The Playroom on PS4 an Entertaining Attraction?

chazaroonie

I read after the US ps4 launch that the playroom was a tech demo and I would agree with this statement. There isn't enough meat on it to call it a game but it does distract you for a short time. I love the cameras functions and am glad I bought the device with my ps4 but to keep that opinion, I'm going to need to see more in the way of support in games. I was disappointed that Killzone: Shadow Fall didn't have move support, especially after Killzone 3 nailed it so well. We can but hope for a patch to include it later but I'm sceptical that it will happen. I think Sony will be doing more things with camera support soon, I can't wait to see what the future brings.

Re: Feature: Games of the Generation - Your Five Favourites

chazaroonie

@ztpayne7 I'm with you on rock band. I spent a fortune buying the Beatles guitars and loads of dlc. I was off work unwell for about a year when it was in its hayday and got pretty depressed. Rock Band and guitar hero really did help me cheer up. When you nail a difficult track you get a sense of achievement that I rarely feel when playing other genres. The whole family can join in too, there realy is nothing like playing local multiplayer with a full band. I don't care how god someone is, the fun of sharing the experience is magical.

Re: Feature: Games of the Generation - Katy's Five Favourites

chazaroonie

@Gemuarto far cry 3 can be very frustrating at times, especially when you are just about to clear a camp and an animal wanders over and kills you!! There were plenty of throw your pad moments but I don't think that would have happened if it wasn't a great game. I wouldn't have bothered to carry on playing if there was nothing to the game or I wasn't enjoying it. I don't think its fair to call it garbage because it is challenging at times.

Re: Feature: Games of the Generation - Greg's Five Favourites

chazaroonie

Having not played Oblivion, I jumped straight into the series with Skyrim. I was blown away when playing as it was sooo good. I'd never played a game as deep or rewarding before and after ploughing 200+ hours into it I got annoyed by the bugs, the only reason I haven't got a platinum trophy. After finishing Skyrim, I tried Oblivion and noticed how dated it was next to the newer iteration. This meant I didn't perservere with it quite as much as I perhaps should. I imagine that had I experienced it when it was released I'd have been as captivated as everyone seems to have been with it.

Re: Feature: Games of the Generation - Jamie's Five Favourites

chazaroonie

Killzone 3 using the move and sharpshooter attachment was pretty exciting for me too. I'll never understand why the sharpshooter didn't take off, I love it and am quietly hoping that Killzone: Shadow Fall has this functionality too, even if it comes via a post release patch. The immersion of seeing your target and pulling the trigger made the game and the peripheral for me.

Re: Gran Turismo 6 Garners Goodwill with Goodwood Hill Climb Course

chazaroonie

I can't believe you guys have never heard of the Goodwood festival of speed or the hill climb race. It's a massive event where former f1 stars and other pro racing drivers race a time trial style hill climb. It's on TV every year. It's a nice addition to the track list. I'm impressed. I hope GT makes it to PS4. I swore the last of us would be my final PS3 purchase.

Re: Tretton: PlayStation Vita's Got a Dedicated Fanbase, It's Just Not Big Enough

chazaroonie

@MadchesterManc That's exactly how it works. As long as you home console is connected to your internet and your psp/vita are connected to a WiFi signal it should work. I use it to stream play tv or the BBC iPlayer to my psp or vita mostly. I'm pretty excited for remote playing games though. Try it out, if Sony can get it to work like they claim, it could be a killer usp. If you can get a pre owned vita for £99 then don't put it off. I don't know anyone who owns a vita who regrets buying it. I love mine.

Re: Sony: Physical Games Will Be Around Longer Than People Think

chazaroonie

Physical copies of games are generally cheaper than the digital alternatives too. Look on the PlayStation store and you'll find titles retailing at £39.99 when you can shop around and pick up a physical copy for £25. I can't be the only one who has noticed. And I agree with both previous comments. Who doesn't like to see a huge collection of games next to their console? I know I do.
