PlayStation Network

Don’t panic if you’ve had your PlayStation Network password reset – this was just a precautionary measure initiated by Sony’s European branch in order to keep you safe. As one company representative pointed out on the platform holder’s official forums, “We monitor PSN account[s] for any irregular activity. If such activity is detected we will sometimes reset passwords.” The spokesperson added that the number of incidents was small, and that there was no specific cause for alarm.

The big issue, then, is that SCEE is not informing individuals that their passwords have been reset in the first place, meaning that many are booting up their systems to discover that they are unable to sign in to their PSN accounts. If you run into this problem, you can request a new login through here. Next time, let’s hope that Sony actually contacts affected customers, huh?
