Everybody says the PS4 isn't selling well in Japan, but to be fair the Xbox One sold 100 consoles in the same week... Makes the 10,000 PS4s seem a bit less disappointing. 100:1 seems like an optimistic ratio to me!
I don't know why people are using exploits to get money in this game; I'm level 20 and I've got 22,000+ gold whilst at the same time buying/crafting every item that's even 1 point stronger than my current equipment. It seems playing the game and selling what you find is the best option! Certainly saves the hours of wasted time punching cows anyway
OR... We could just shop around and preorder physical copies for 10% less? Or wait a month or two for it to drop in price OR buy a second hand copy. 10% off is totally worthless even on £50 games as they can always be found for sub £45 at release elsewhere. I wish that Sony would embrace Steam a little and make a sale that we could get even half as excited about
I sincerely hope this is true - Software preferably - as I've just bought a 50" 4K TV and discovered how little content there actually is to support it considering how long the format has been in production!
It really HAS to be a software update though, as that would immediately put around 25 million 4K capable devices in homes... Plus I don't want to buy a new PS4!
(25 million = Xbones and PSphwoars)
If my maths are correct, and they are, Sony will make over £30 MILLION each month purely on Plus subscriptions and that's inevitably an escalating figure... I'd say they'd be able to comfortably sell the PS4 at a huge loss at any moment if Microsoft try and claw some ground back
@BLPs It's more interesting to have this kind of sale, they'll be selling them for a while after this too. It's just a bit of fun, so less of the pessimism perchance?
If they've got nothing better to do than spend loads of money on computing power to overload companies' servers for a few hours then they should just spend that money on making robot girlfriends. They're clearly never going to get a girl any other way
@RawWilson1 Unless it's Ryse. Ryse can sod off. Unless they make the gameplay interesting and not just QTE - slow formation march - QTE - slow formation march etc.
I'm really glad I splashed out on a 1.5TB HDD as, unlike with my PS3, I've not deleted a single thing I've put on there and there's so much room left to fill!
Same way they did the upgrade with the launch titles, keeping the ps3 disc to play. Digitally. Via network statistics. There are loads of ways they can do it and they said they were looking into it. I'll be royally pi$$ed off if they don't offer some discount
They'd better not ignore that discount for previous buyers though. I really want this game but the whole thing will be tainted for me if they just put their middle finger up to those who bought it on PS3
LOCO-FU@#&NG-ROCO! One of, if not the best game series I've ever played. Either a new LocoRoco or Final Fantasy XII on vita and it'll have one more buyer!
@get2sammyb I should probably point out that Sony has sold well over 7 million PS4s to consumers and MS have danced around the fact the they have actually only sold over 5 million units to shops, not consumers. This has actually led to them temporarily halting production. [Thanks Neogaf]
I haven't touched CoD since the original Black Ops and I'm certainly not going back. It's simply ridiculous, and the online isn't even fun. It's just paintball - splat>dead .. SPAWN splat>dead .. SPAWN splat>dead .. SPAWN splat>dead
I've heard that this is "Sony's answer to Pokémon". It looks like one of the first games I'll be picking up when I eventually get around to buying a lovely Vita
I've been spurred on by the positivity of Dark Souls 2 to re-attempt Demon's Souls, a game that previously denied me progress through the first level... Through some combination of extra patience, generally being better at games, and... Maybe... Spamming the duplicate item cheat on the first demon's soul so that I was level 115 after 7 hours, I'm almost finished. Dark Souls, here I come!
I loved playing the PS3 version. After they broke their promise of the inclusion of more content and characters, and then refuse to make this free for those who bought it already... I'm sore to the point of never buying it
@AD-80 I'm aware that the battery life is miserable when compared to the simply ridiculous DS3, but I'm just saying that it's through no fault of a simple LED array. Dimming the lightbar will give no more than 3% battery life, I guarantee it. Most LEDs won't even use a single watt of power
I really don't see why everybody lost their **** over it in the first place. It's simply another tool that developers, so far have practically ridiculed it with their hopeless uses (Thanks, Killzone!), are able to use in interesting ways. It's really not that bright, unless you play in the dark, and it simply does not use any battery power. Recharging an LED bulb via the mains is exactly like filling a bath tub with a firehose and draining it by putting a pin hole through the bottom
Bearing in mind that this in an open world, it does look pretty swanky and no longer deserves the criticism. I was going to poke at how the added battery slot would make it easier, but as found with Knack becoming FAR more bearable when you have loads of supermoves that can clear out the majority of the barren levels, it will simply make it more fun! Allowing you a little extra freedom with the tools the game is based around certainly can't hurt!
I'm no longer getting inFAMOUS on release due to this as I want to see if it's anything to do with the game's quality. From what I've played, it's fantastically polished, but it does seem a little odd to not ring in the celebration with the team as the sales figures rack up
With around 25% of just us willing to pay over $200 I don't see Sony having a hard time getting traction with this. I honestly have to change my undies when I see things like this!
@3Above I completed Resi 5 Gold Edition with my sister's boyfriend in one sitting because of how good the Move controllers were! But Star Wars... That would've taken all of my money. Well, at least half!
I loved PlayStation Move to the point that I have two navigation controllers and FOUR Move wands... Still, I have a group of friends coming to my house on Friday for pizza, cocktails, and VIRTUAL FRISBEE GOLF. I think we now know who the most awesomest guy ever is huh?
After playing the demo in London I get the impression anything they create will be pure gold. Even with the "tail the van" mission (which Mr Potter failed to complete after about 7 attempts) being present it just seems like everything is really polished and thought out. I doubt I'll miss a single bit of DLC for this!
@SuperSilverback so true! It didn't feel cringeworthy, but we'd already played the exact same missions ourselves before they showed it off, hence why the demo was cut short. Troy Baker is such a showman though and really kept up the atmosphere
I was at the Infamous Second Son Live event in London last night and two good and bad missions were exactly what was on offer.
I can report: It looks BLOOMIN' BEAUTIFUL, the gameplay is really fluid, traversing the world is much faster (thanks to neon), and thankfully this time around the moral decisions actually make a huge difference to the following gameplay and acting/cutscenes
Yep, not only did it stop Minecraft from working for me but it also stopped my PS3 turning on 90% of the time until I deleted all Minecraft data D: Silver lining though:- procedural generation means my current play through is 50x more awesome
Merry Christmas to y'all. I've had a bottle of Bah Humbug, currently sipping at a pint of Christmas Eve, before finishing my Rosey Nosey. It's shortly going to be very merry up in this bitch!
