Re: Poll: Has Arcade Edition Tempted You to Try Street Fighter V?

Tulio517

I was disappointed to find out that the Arcade Edition does not include Season 3 characters. I know they haven't been released yet, but it's hard to get excited when they propose me to spend me more than full price for an almost 2 year old game. I'll just wait for the actual complete edition a couple of years from now. Maybe I'll buy USFIV in a sale...

Re: Soapbox: After the Vita's Failure, Why Do People Now Want Console Games on the Go?

Tulio517

I think it makes sense for Nintendo. I honestly think it's best for Nintendo to not have gone for a normal console with higher specs that would be obsolete in comparison with Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. With that in mind, a handheld hybrid is just the best they can do. And here's a single reason: Pokémon. It is Nintendo's biggest system seller after Mario. Just because it's not good for Playstation it doesn't mean it isn't to everyone else. Sometimes it's not always about what the whole market wants, but what's logic for one of them at the time, and it made total sense for Nintendo. Now, of course they didn't have only pokémon in mind when designing the Switch (that's just my fanboy speaking), but having 2 systems was harming them in a big way, with huge game release droughts. It's best for them, not for Sony. And it's not just about the hybrid nature, but the hybrid nature solves the problem of having to develop for two new systems

@Flaming_Kaiser In those simple days Overwatch wouldn't have half the content it has and interest in the game would slowly die until a cash grab sequel would be released to revive the game. But yeah, I get the point. We have cash grab sequels AND microtansactions in the same game nowadays lol

Re: Poll: Where Do You Stand on Microtransactions?

@Flaming_Kaiser Sure, it can get really annoying, but like Sammy said, I believe it's better with it. I haven't really spent much money on it, and it's really infuriating when you lose an event skin, but without the whales funding the game for us there wouldn't be such a constant stream of free content. Just don't spend money on it and accept the fact that you're never going to get all the skins without a serious grind. I focus on getting everything for my main, which is very doable, and don't lose my head over the rest. Could it be less of a grind? Sure, It's not perfect, far from it. But at least it doesn't harm gameplay.

The only game I've ever spent money on microtansactions is Overwatch. And as Sammy has explained, it's not a bad thing in it. But in Shadow of War it ruined it for me. I know the game is great, but I refuse to buy it at launch. I'm not a fan of Battlefront, but if I were, I'd never buy that game unless they significantly changed its progression system. BF2 looks like it's straight up pay to win.

Re: Poll: Do You Want Another Portable PlayStation?

Tulio517

My opinion is that at this point a dedicated portable, Sony's or otherwise, would only be in the Switch's shadow. I'd say trying to mimick Switch's concept would also be a missed oportunity. Playstation's got it's thing, Nintendo finally got their s*** together, let's keep things the way they are. PS5 should continue to push 4K foward and all that technical stuff.

Re: Soapbox: Open World OCD - How Too Much Content Can Ruin a Game

Bought DA:I recently and actually fell out of the game because of the boring side quests. After I committed to my love interest, got bored and played Final Fantasy XV, which kinda had the same problem, but not to the same extent in my opinion. Maybe it didn't bother me that much because I actually rushed a bit through the game and then went to do what interested me in the post game.

Edit: Also, completely forgot about Zelda BOTW. It has its fair share of stupid quests. But It's biggest accomplishment is not having a map full of question marks. It doesn't make you feel like you HAVE to complete every single thing on your way. And it's just a great game overall.
