Well said. This is inexcusable. As far as I can tell there was no indication from retailers or Bethesda/Microsoft that this was the situation with the Doom disc until people got the disc early and leaked the information out.
The Indiana Jones situation could have been excused as them being cheap (not for me, it was inexcusable). This however is just Microsoft being malicious. The game would have fit on a single disc that they have already paid for. They made it ***** deliberately, and they will no doubt make the Tony Hawk 3+4 and Outer Wilds 2 discs with no data deliberately.
Between the lack of, or worthless physical releases they’ve put out this year, I estimate Xbox have lost out on a fair chunk of money out of me. Shame, I was really looking forward to Doom but I’ll live without it.
@Frmknst Sorry Bobby, I just think the series is beyond stale and I thought that before they: 1. Put in loot boxes, 2. Jumped on the battle royale trend, 3. Made said BR pay to win with weapons and skins. 4. Nikki minaj. 5. Worthless game discs with no content on it 6. Bloated downloads 7. Rehashed story content 8. Cannibalised all the other Activision studios to churn out slop content over other games
That’s just what I can remember off the top of my head while sat on the toilet.
Personally AI garbage is low on my list of CoD transgressions so I summed it all up with “CoD is creatively bankrupt”.
Surely Sony didn’t need to green light 12 GaaS games simultaneously. The whole move reeked of desperation and greed from the outset and shows how clueless game executives are. Always chasing trends too late and missing the boat continuously.
So say all 12 games got made. Did Sony expect us to play all 12 simultaneously or were they expecting most to fail. Surely proceeding with your two best ideas and having the rest of your teams working on what made you a success would make more sense no? Live service games monopolise their players time to get them invested and incentivise them to start coughing up money. Nobody plays 12 live service games. They play one and getting them to jump once they are invested takes real effort. Having Bluepoint make a god of war service game is literally the dumbest thing ever when they could have been remaking Bloodborne, or the Sly Cooper trilogy or something they actually specialise in.
I’ve been fairly optimistic about this generation and have plenty of games to play and not enough time to play them all but this situation is embarrassing.
All I remember from playing BL3 was having a raging headache after each session. I put this down to the excessive use of particle effects and a constant stream of awful white noise of gunfire, music, enemies screaming and the npcs screaming over the radio all at the same time.
Everybody listing the Ubisoft cock ups have seemingly already forgot Skull and Bones. I’d be surprised if the Singapore Government paid for entirety of the alleged $650-$850 million it cost to make.

Haha, brilliant reaction comments.
Physical forever.
Re: Call of Duty's Future Under Xbox Leaves Former Director 'Immensely Worried'
Personally, CoD peaked at CoD 4. The SAS storyline was brilliant and nothing I’ve played from the series after has got close to touching it.
Re: Confirmed: Oblivion Remastered's PS5 Physical Edition Requires 'Additional Download' to Actually Play
@ElectricWizard Yeah that’s crap too. Shameful actually.
Re: Confirmed: Oblivion Remastered's PS5 Physical Edition Requires 'Additional Download' to Actually Play
Double disc games have been a thing. This is just Bethesda and Microsoft being crap and cheap.
Re: Oblivion Remastered's Anticipated Physical PS5 Release Will Require the Internet
@Brynjir It’s not “most games” dude. Don’t parrot stuff you see online. The majority of PS5 games are included and install off the disc just fine.
Re: Oblivion Remastered's Anticipated Physical PS5 Release Will Require the Internet
Another faceplant from Microsoft. Keep on winning!
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Hollow Knight: Silksong?
@Kraven The trophy list doesn’t even look that hard. Dudes just a scrub.
Re: Skate's Free-to-Play Revival Rides into Early Access on PS5, PS4 in September
@Northern_munkey A sign of when it began development I suspect. Anyway, I wanted skate 4, so this can do one.
Re: Preview: Rolling the Dice on PS5's Next Big Gacha, the Anime Open World RPG NTE
Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Another one to add to the pile of slot machine adjacent “games” with anime boobs vying for your wallets attention.
Re: Tales of Xillia Remastered Releases October for PS5, Xillia 2 Not Included
Why bundle it when you can sell the sequel separately next year. Then bundle them both later!
Re: Poll: How Would You Rate State of Play for June 2025?
I feel like it was made specifically for me. I’d play all of those games.

Re: Reaction: Game Key PS5 Discs Are a Disgrace, and Sony Should Put a Stop to Them
Well said. This is inexcusable. As far as I can tell there was no indication from retailers or Bethesda/Microsoft that this was the situation with the Doom disc until people got the disc early and leaked the information out.

Re: Rumour: DOOM: The Dark Ages PS5's Physical Edition May Require a Download to Start
Apparently the ps5 version has 85mb of data on the disc. Seriously, ***** Microsoft.
Re: Xbox Now Selling PS5 Games for $80, Joins Switch 2 in Price Increase
I won’t even buy a game for £70, so good luck with that.
Re: Ex-Xbox Console Exclusive Indiana Jones Will Be Available Physically on PS5, But May Require an Internet Connection
Well that’s money saved if the download requirement is true. I’ll use the money for a more deserving game (or two, lol 70 quid).
Re: PS5 Mega-Flop Concord Is Reaching Absurdly High Prices on eBay
There are literally stacks of this game on eBay for under 30 quid. This article is just misinformation.

@12AngryCats They already did, that’s Brendan McNamara.

Anyway, resume enjoying your game. Peace.
Re: Call of Duty Confirms Use of Generative AI in Blockbuster PS5, PS4 Franchise
The whole series has been creatively bankrupt for the last 15 years, so makes sense that they can’t even be bothered to make it themselves anymore.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play for February 2025?
Cue 300 comments of people saying it was *****…
I think it was pretty good. Lots of interesting games. Only time I reached for my phone was when we had yet another FNAF game.
Re: Fans Are Buying Fewer Boxed Video Games Than Ever in the US

Re: Here's How to Get a Physical Copy of Ninja Gaiden 2's Remake for PS5

@get2sammyb Never heard of it. Is it any good?
Re: Concord Cost Sony Over $200 Million, And Didn't Make a Single Cent
It did make some money from all the weirdos on eBay trying to sell off sealed copies as “collector’s pieces” at higher than retail value.

@Foxhound I also get extra shelves for the units so they fit the profile of the cases better to get even more games in the unit.

Re: PS5 Pro Prompts Sony's Disc Drive to Rocket Up the Charts
@Foxhound I just live in a house made of unsold Conchord game cases so it’s absolutely massive.
In all seriousness, I just use IKEA Billy bookcases.
Re: PS5 Pro Prompts Sony's Disc Drive to Rocket Up the Charts
I'm currently at 173 PS5 discs so I sure as hell got one. Got more than double that on PS4 too so it was a no brainer.
Re: Sony's Live Service Push 'No Joke', A Lot of People Working on Horizon Online
I’d rather play Horizon 3, thanks.
Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Sony's State of Play for September 2024?
There is literally no pleasing some of you people...
I'm genuinely beginning to think people don't actually play games and just ***** on everything they see.
Re: Talking Point: Is PS5 Pro Way Too Expensive?
I would have been all in if it was £650 with a stand and a disc drive and had money set aside for it, but the price just feels gross.
Re: Freelance Artist Attempts to Redesign PS5, PC Flop Concord's Cast
As Captain Price once said, “It’s not hard to improve on garbage”.
Re: Incredible Looking Trails in the Sky Remake Is Real, But PS5, PS4 Players Will Have to Wait
It would be a colossal ***** you to the PlayStation fans if this never makes it over. The entire series has been on PlayStation up until this point.
