If you are in doubt, give planet zoo a chance. You’d be amazed at just how insanely deep the creation tools are when you leave preset pieces behind and start going free from - it’s sometimes mind blowing!

Give planet zoo a try! I picked it up thinking it would be nice to mess around with something different, for totally addicted to mastering the (ludicrously deep) design tools and here I am still playing it thousands of hours later!

Anyone who claims this month isn’t a good month (and experience tells me there will be plenty of them) needs taking to the vet for a check up

We get a totally new game from Remedy. I love Remedy more than any other dev. How can I not vote ‘very happy’?!?

Of their three major IPs, JWE is the odd one out and hasn’t so far had anything like the depth of design engine you get in the Planet games. It looks to me like they are porting some of those features in and that will probably get a lot of people interested

Not sure I understand all the complaining about the 007 game: it looked great!

To me a lot of the stuff just looked samey in a sort of ‘this is the fever dream of someone drugged to the eyeball’ kinda way. The 007 trailer put me on tangibly firmer ground again and looked ‘reliable’ and shiny.

If I’m honest, even the Silent Hill game looked disappointingly over-stylised for my tastes. Doesn’t scary need a little bit more realism than that…?

I spent significant tracts of my viewing time wondering how so many of these developers fund such excessive drug habits while living in fear of losing their jobs…

@Jrs1 I can feel something inside myself just WANTING more of those ‘one and done’, linear, fun games. The kind you buy and think: ‘yes. Great. I can just f-ing play this without worrying about it being a huge investment to do battle with a vast open world and seventeen gameplay systems’.

Something that isn’t another big action adventure - we are crying out for this kind of variety in the gaming landscape tbh

I don’t expect it to be anything ground breaking but to me it looks kinda fun if I’m honest. Maybe I’m just in the market for relatively simple, linear-ish shooting games like we used to get a lot of, and a bit tired of investing in a huge big adventure game every time I pick up something new.

A lot of peoples’ bars are clearly very, very high these days if this is really looking THAT bad…

To all those surprised by a 7/10, this site did just undercut pretty much every review ever of Forza Horizon 5 by giving that an 8. Reviewers are acting a bit like Craig Revel-Horwood on Strictly Come Bloody Dancing recently. (Incidentally I can’t stand that show but my family never miss an episode)

Lots of people don’t like digital games and want a physical copy. Honestly - we get it. If we didn’t get it by now you might as well call the undertaker now. Do we REALLY need people to say this EVERY single time?!

I would far farther they gave us the latest one - whatever that was called. But then who am I kidding - I would probably buy any of it to relive the games which meant so much to gaming in my teenage years as well as just for the long-awaited novelty of halo being on PlayStation

@glennthefrog I have no idea - I haven’t played it. I would imagine it’s clearly not a 10 but I would also imagine it’s considerably closer to a 10 than a 1.

I wouldn’t give Elden Ring a 10 but then I’m not part of this Dark Souls love-in either.

I do know that it’s both brainless and obnoxious to be giving a game like this 1/10

What’s quite revealing about all this is that a pretty huge 6% have decided to give it a 1/10 and yet I haven’t seen a single one of them join the comments thread

People with ps+ should already have the majority of these games one way or another…

How are major open world games STILL being made with ps4 versions…???

@DennisReynolds Yes I was going to point out that these aren’t really warnings that it’s a horror game. I completely agree that people don’t need to be warned about the fact a game is there to make them feel uneasy. But you’d have to agree that in the case of very raw and sensitive issues, you can’t not alert people who could have serious problems with themes like child abuse, inherited from actual lived experience …

This endless ‘hatred’ of live service features which is apparently unanimous across the gaming world … in short: everyone hates live service features and yet people both play for them and pay for them regardless.

Consequently developers will keep harping on about how they’re aren’t turning games into ‘live service’ while blatantly doing so anyway. Reminds me of British politics.

I love how he has said it will be ‘about’ a monumentally vague and far-reaching abstract concept … and loads of people come along and say ‘this game is being made about something I don’t care about.’ Are you actually serious???

For me this looked the most playable of all the action adventure games shown. The others sort of rolled into one and I can’t remember which was which

The gradual death of karting games - once a reliable staple of the gaming landscape - is a sad thing. I can’t see this as anything but a good thing!

I voted ok. I did find it quite tedious.

I don’t think that’s because there wasn’t a loaded variety of games shown. I mostly felt like a lot of the games seemed to roll into one. There’s a LOT of fantasy games or games about people who are half robot kinda thing. (There’s a term for that, isn’t there? It’s late!)

I really don’t care whether they’re first party or not - as many others have said. But the fact I can’t really remember which game was called what isn’t a great sign for my personal interest levels in what they decided to showcase.

Partly also I do wonder what gets into some people’s heads to give them the idea that some of these ‘filler’ games need to be made. Like something about a camouflaged octopus escaping from a factory and saving the world from aliens. Literally who became convinced that idea should become an actual game???

You can’t argue with getting Jedi Survivor tbh. It’s a very good game.

I could open a book and start taking odds every time we have one of these threads. The odds will be on how many hundred (ultra tedious) comments we get about Bloodbourne…

Enough of this bs by the way. All of these companies are pretty evil, and a lot of people reading these threads are simple minions like me who want to just own one console and have ALL the games right now. (Evil but cognitively challenged grin)

@SMJ Should we then award GOTY with a ten year delay? This game was game of the year in 2015 because x number of people played it in 2025?

It’s very rare I actually enjoy reading a debate in the comments section of ps articles but this one i have. Some extremely well reasoned and well argued comments have been put forward

@Andee also the arcadeyness and the fact those games didn’t treat everything so seriously. Unlocking the old dude in the kilt and stuff was just fun. I played those games a lot as a kid despite not even being into golf at all!

I struggle to be excited that they’re mostly releasing a backlog of now very old games onto PlayStation. If they release the most recent Halo and Forza Horizon this will be a different story entirely.

The value is incredible because of how intricately crafted it is. Initially I was skeptical about only having six ‘sandbox’ mission maps per game. But the replayability just for the core story missions is almost vast. I was addicted for a good few months a couple of years ago.

Every year I hope for a really good legends roster and mostly I’m disappointed. Never mind 40 years of wrestlemania or whatever - just make a good legends of wrestling game which actually has features

@StylesT I can’t understand all this love for Veilguard on here - a brutally sanitised IP with some of the wettest characters imaginable and a combat system so simplified and lobotomised the word ‘repetitive’ is FAR too mild a descriptor.

I don’t really know why I care at all but for some reason it irritates me that Howarts is STILL selling like this. (I know - it really should be other even older titles that annoy me if anything)

I’ve mostly played Planet Zoo (which surprised even me) the whole year and that’s not listed at all so …

I want this to be true and I want it to release yesterday. Any later than that is hard to take.

The monetisation of this game has been beyond obscene from the very start at absolutely every single level.

All the skins issued as rewards for playing the new mode were deliberately bland in order to promote ludicrously priced nostalgia skins available in the shop for example.

It’s literally sickening what they did to a hugely beloved franchise. Does it surprise me people have grown tired of their excessive money grabbing? Of course not! Absolute disgrace.

Does Planet Zoo count? It’s not a new game but hadn’t been a ps5 game before meaning I’d never encountered it before

@DennisReynolds All I ever hear is that he has said a game is a broken mess. By which I mean that’s what people seem to report on here. I’ve never watched any of his videos.
