A new King Kong game titled Skull Island: Rise of Kong has today been announced for PS5 and PS4. It's slated to arrive later this year from developer IguanaBee Studios, priced at £34.99. Check out the reveal trailer above. Taking control of King Kong himself, you'll fight to avenge your parents and become king once more in this third-person action-adventure.

The game is pitched as an origin story where you begin your journey as an orphan and then work your way to the top of the food chain, eventually exacting revenge on Gaw, the beast responsible for your parent's death. As well as brawling dinosaurs, you'll explore Skull Island and uncover collectibles and secrets in other areas.

A base version of the game costs £34.99 on PS5 and PS4, or you can opt for the Colossal Edition at £44.99. This comes bundled with eight film grain filters, 10 different colours for King Kong, an exclusive boss rush mode, behind-the-scenes content, and an orchestral soundtrack. With the film grain filters, you can make the title look like it's been pulled straight out of the 1933 original film, or the version from 1976.

Skull Island: Rise of Kong is developed by IguanaBee Studios, which has made other licensed games in the past such as Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl and G.I. Joe: Operation Blackout. Are you interested? Let us know in the comments below.
