@LikelySatan we all do. Fallout could do with spreading things out across genres as well, there’s no reason to keep it within Bethesda only, especially when they have a loose interpretation of their own lore anyway. There’s really no need it to not be passed to other studios.
@trev666 thought I was the only one, no harm meant to the guy but I find him incredibly annoying.
@lindos Sure, but you can choose not to use something if you don’t agree with its creation. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing precisely because as you say, it’s hard to walk around and find things from only nice people. This should mean that when you have a choice and can make it without an impact to you, you can do it. Doing a little is still better than not doing at all. It’s like saying people who are socialists should live in a cave and not use money, a bit of an absurd requirement.
@Zeke68 I think it was mainly the SkillUp review which was quite lukewarm towards it (I tend to agree with their reviews more often than not). Good to hear it might be better though!
Sounds like the updates have been great but I’m probably still going to wait for it to get in plus. The base game didn’t jump out from reviews, but intrigued by how much better it is.
@itsfoz Techland have not covered themselves in glory when it comes to writing. There are a handful on studios with the writing chops to make the next one great. I have very little hope for this.
Looking forward to finding out more. Hoping we get as much depth to the non-combat loop as we do in Persona, and they have a tonne of fantasy world building potential to make use of.
@thefourfoldroot1 I think that’s a fair point. Look at it as experience in something they would maybe otherwise not have gotten. Still think it’s horse manure that this guy is trying absolve a CEO of pretty much the one thing CEOs are supposed do to get their pay plus bonuses. If they succeed, it’s their galaxy brains. If they fail, it’s the market.
@thefourfoldroot1 There would have been other jobs. His reasoning only really works if you assume they would have been unemployed the whole time without these jobs, but there’s nothing to say they would. A lot of devs apply for projects associated with games they love too, so there could be a bunch that could have pursued other opportunities but chose this one because of the IP or history.
Losing/leaving jobs isn’t inherently bad, but this has been a result of a lack of planning and forethought. There are people who should be held responsible for creating a situation that didn’t need to happen. It wasn’t destiny..
The rich telling the poors to go easy on other rich, they’re actually good guys. Same type of thinking that had so many criminals get away with it after the 2008 collapse.
@Silenos What’s the point of a forum or comment section then? Admins should regulate only happy things about anything can be talked about? Everyone should think the same things? All the criticisms above are perfectly valid opinions, even if I like the game. Please don’t misuse the word toxic, it’s already losing meaning with how it’s being applied.
@UltimateOtaku91 We don’t know how their reserves work, so who knows. That said, a number of devs were laid off on successful projects. It’s not always associated with flops, hence his point that these tend to come in waves when others take advantage of the turn.
@LifeGirl The mobile market has increased by grabbing more casual players. The more hardcore market, which is more likely to invest in consoles and PC, is unlikely to concede to playing games on their phone, even if they are streamed to their phone in my opinion. The hardcore market has also been increasing, albeit not to the explosive amount of mobile, so I don’t think it all those people with gaming setups are going to give that up to play on their phones.
Fantastic game. Endless depth when it comes to unit formations and customisation. If they make a sequel that adds a bit more depth to the story and world, we’ll be in for even more of a treat.
@darylb24 Grinding for XP isn’t really needed. Just pop Alain’s valour skill for double XP whenever a unit is about to claim a position. Those give more XP than fights, and with the XP boost you’ll regularly be levelling up. At no point have I had to grind XP so far, about 80 hrs in and at the end. Also a good unit can defeat units higher level than them so definitely experiment.
Their games are always interesting, so really liking this approach. They still need a bit of sharpening when it comes to systems but on the right track. Narratives usually slap.
@C25CLOUD Because you and your money don’t exist in a vacuum. When these are successful it prompts more publishers to do it, and as those make money it starts to get forced into the game design. Look at Assassins Creed Odyssey and it’s prolonged progression. It doesn’t appear to be quite case here, just Capcom being opportunistic , but I’m tired of this argument that people can spend money how they want when we’ve seen examples of games following trends and being rekt. Look at Suicide Squad even.
@StrickenBiged Sure but would you get encounters like that noir cat? Or any of the hundred humorous mini stories you get from NPCs? Even if you write the framework and let the NPC improvise, I don’t think it would be as good as something written with intent. I think something will get lost in this, but it is interesting nonetheless.
The plot of 1 was interesting for its philosophical themes about “will” rather than the actual plot itself. If that’s true for this, spoilers won’t matter.
@xDD90x Ah fair enough, apologies on my part. I’ve been triggered by some obnoxious comments on this site before and I came in a bit too ready there, misread the intent.
@Futureshark Stop being silly, every culture has slang, shorthand and colloquialisms. Just because it isn’t formal English doesn’t degrade it in the eyes of people who use it. He’s talking to a fan, not submitting an English paper.
@ZhuckelDror Both can true. GaaS games fail a lot more than succeed. Thinking that Sony is crazy for spreading themselves on this, when two DOA live service games like Suicide Squad and Skull and Bones just dropped, whilst also thinking they did well to get one right is not hypocritical or hyperbolic in the way you’re insinuating.

Lol as long as it’s not organised by Bethesda. Never forget the Canvas Bag fiasco.

Re: Embracer CEO Admits Mistakes Were Made: 'I Could Take a Lot of That Blame Myself'
He probably had to scale back the upgrade to his yacht temporarily, so he’s likely feeling humble about his role in all this.
Re: Baldur's Gate 3 PS5 Physical Deluxe Edition Is Back in Stock
Insane value for the price. Almost the cost of a new Skull and Bones!

Let’s goooo. They’ve had a lot of time, albeit interrupted by Covid. Too much to hope for a release date this year? Dreamland stuff.
Re: Amazon's Fallout Adaptation Seemingly Retcons Climactic Events of Fan-Favourite Game
Par for the course with Bethesda, they don’t care about lore. Not at all surprised they couldn’t be bothered to get it straight.
