Never seen so many people on this site so willing to just give away their data to corporations when it’s totally unnecessary. I’m not even a PC gamer but I took the time to understand why they disliked the login requirement and honestly it is a bit stupid for Sony to require it. They’re already paying for the game, now they need to give their data as well? Calling them entitled? Shambles.
It looks promising but dear god the writing is absolutely awful. This really feels like a tech demo to me - the gameplay systems don’t seem to make sense all together and the writing appears to be the last thing considered. It’s like they added the plot in after the scenarios were developed. Conversations are so unnatural and the main plot delivery doesn’t make a lot of sense. A bit suspect.
@MFTWrecks Agree, there is potential in the material in that the techy thriller setup is generic enough for someone to do something with. I expect its not too hard to do better than what Ubisoft can write.
@Yagami I played the first game solo and really enjoyed it. I’ve pulled the trigger on the complete edition for this game and plan on playing it solo as well. It’s perfectly fine and enjoyable.
Someone in the modding community has also broken open the level editing features that Larian had initially restricted (suspiciously easily it looks like), so now there’s even potential for custom campaigns to be developed once people get to grips with it.
Combat looks really repetitive and the character models look weird. This feels like it’s going to be one of those games you don’t play for the gameplay, and the amount of input you have on what Rook says doesn’t make feel like it will be particularly reactive. Very curious to see reviews for this but I don’t think this was a great showing, although the story sounds interesting.
All in all sounds pretty good. They’ve got a really solid foundation if the campaign delivers and they can do whatever they want with this title as it lends itself well to a variety of modes. Monetising cosmetics rather than the mode updates is also the way to go because 40k fans are definitely the type to spend on factional skins etc.
This looks crap. And I know this is a different timeline without Paul, but I really dislike some of the shortcuts they’re taking with the lore. Speeders? No Fremen? Gun fights over the sand?
@yazzika The story mode should be straightforward. You can forget about the other modes if you like. If the story is well written and engaging then that may be worth it on its own at some price. See how reviews go.
@Jacko11 I know right. Last of Us 2 was narratively fantastic. The more I’ve thought about the game after playing it the more I like it. Not sure what people wanted if they found it boring. It was dark, violent and dirty, in an upsetting way, but totally engaging and in-keeping with themes of both games.
@SeanOhOgain Do consumers have no right to complain? Just buy the product and accept it? I’ll never understand this. They bought the game, they can comment or review it poorly. I don’t understand how you want them to get the devs’ attention, particularly as reviews have proved to be the very best way to get a reaction from a dev. Sending a feedback form or @-ing them on Twitter doesn’t cut it. What exactly should people with a legitimate criticism do?
The use of language here is interesting. They say players felt more “engaged”, but what does that mean exactly? That they liked it? Or that when asked specifically about how involved they felt combat was with the main character, they responded “very much so”, because those are two different things in my mind. You can feel engaged, whatever that means, without really liking something.
Eyeing this with a mate. Rogue Trader has got me into 40k so I’m mostly looking forward to the story, but a PVE mode with the option for bots sounds great too.
@Doctor_BK Are you trolling because you’re bored or is that a serious comment? I’ve seen some like that on this site so it’s hard to tell if your brain is cooked or you’re just joking. There’s nothing “woke” about this game.
I hate this, just announce when you’re ready. Also roadmaps? Curious to see if they go the Owlcat route and show their plan for future story DLCs and dungeons over the next two years. I’d trust Owlcat more though right now.
@AK4tywill It is strange how powerful nostalgia is. I read all the Harry Potter books as a kid and was into them, but as I read more and grew up I’ve found far better worlds to explore in fiction. I don’t find this universe as interesting anymore, which is great since the author is horrific, but it triggers such a deep response to people so many years after. I’d say it’s a time and place thing but I don’t know. That said, I always thought quidditch was a poorly thought out sport so I’m mostly curious to see how this game makes it a proper sport. Will definitely read a review or two.
@Doctor_BK you may not be as permanently online as some of us. The car has a litany of horrific issues and is basically a cash sink for crypto bros who see it as a status symbol first. Plus Musk is a horrible person, there’s literally hours upon hours of videos, articles and podcasts detailing exactly why if you’re really interested.
Looking good, though bizarrely enough after playing Rogue Trader, I’m more interested in how well executed the story is. So much lore and potential in this universe, hopefully it sticks to be interesting.
Another check in Streamlining column, which seems to match the less control you have over your character in dialogue (from what we’ve seen). They have a lot more control over your character than previous games, or so it sounds. Honestly can’t wait for the game to come out so we can see reviews for ourselves.
Deserved better surely. That Dead Island trailer alone should put them in the cinematic hall of fame but it sounds like they’ve always done stellar work. Why were commissions so low?

Nice touch by Owlcat. Two dev studios who are going places.

Glorious. Would love that but fat chance.
Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 DLC Hopes Reignited By Suspicious Steam Updates
Good expansion is what I’ve been waiting for. All reviews paint the base game as a rehash of the first. We need to see evolution.

@Drago201 Edibles would at least make him chill and maybe funny. He’s just an annoying ***** all the time.
Re: Promising Persona-Inspired RPG Demonschool Hit with Hefty Delay
I don’t mind spacing it out until they’re happy, especially if they’re adding things. Give me a steady stream of RPGs and I’m a happy carrot.

Re: Explore an Apocalyptic Britain in Atomfall on PS5, PS4 Early Next Year
@Black_Square Everything is political.
I have my reservations about how the story and narrative will work in this as it seems a lot more survival-based than I expected.

After they nerfed how fire works, may not be so great. 5 min cooldown too.
