@GamingFan4Lyf The plot is extremely slow burning. It gets much better after 20 hours or so, but I understand it can be a hard sell to convince someone to play for 20 hours until it gets good. What I can tell you is, if there's anything about the game that interests you, keep playing for a while and it'll only get better. If you think the characters and the gameplay are not holding you, then maybe the game is just not for you.

@GamingFan4Lyf They're amazing games but I do agree with you. What these games have in character development, gameplay, story and soundtrack they seem to lack in environmental detail.
It might be budget constraints, engine limitations or maybe something else entirely.

It looks so derivative. Even if it's a fantastic game I don't think it will sell well because it does very little to stand out from the crowd.

@TheCollector316 And who are these "professionals"? The ones that get early review copies and advertise new releases on their website for money? While I agree the public and influencers can be untrustworthy, these "professionals" are often shills lobbying for the industry.

I wish more publishers did this. Playing the demo is what made me buy a few games like Octopath Traveler and FFXVI, I'll definitely be giving it a try and it will decide if I buy the game or not.

I can't fathom how people spend that much money on a game. The game that I spent the most money was Elder Scrolls Online and it was probably around £120, but on expansions and subscription over the course of 6 years and almost 800 hours of playtime.

The headliner is RE2, but of course like most people I already have it. Still, you can't consider it a bad month with a game like that on the line-up

Spider-Man 2 does almost absolutely nothing innovative, it's even debatable if it's the best Spider-Man game and it will be just another game that happened in a decade from now.
Meanwhile Baldur's Gate 3 is a milestone game that will be remembered in history and it set a new standard for storytelling and roleplaying forever in the vidro game industry.

He's probably talking about Zack. The first game of this remake trilogy had a bloated plot focusing mostly on Sephiroth vs Cloud for fan service and completely missing the message of the original.
Aerith surviving is fan service and it wouldn't surprise me at all if she remained alive at the end of this game.

Shadowrun: Daggerfall was an amazing crossover between Bethesda and Harebrained Schemes. I remember having a great time playing the game as a cyberdecking Khajiit.

YouTubers have been documenting for years that these developers were scammers with games that were abandoned as soon as they were released.

It baffles me that with all the evidence this game still got dozens of thousands of players when it first released. Some people really like to live in denial.

RE 5 being a much more flawed game than it's predecessors could really benefit from a remake. If they overhaul the gameplay and improve the story, it could go from an above average action game, to a masterpiece horror/action game.

I would love if they did a Cid origin story. He was my favorite character in the game and my favorite Cid in the whole franchise.

Considering the abysmal state Cyberpunk was released, I'll wait until it's been properly patched and then play it. Not buying into the hype again, you fooled me once CD Projekt Red.

Just to tell some people, even though Sony 1st party titles are still very expensive, some quality third party titles are at an all high discount.

His story is very interesting and it's a good example of curiosity and interest in a different culture breaking the racial barriers, but calling him a Samurai is revisionist history. Let's be honest, the BioWare we knew and loved is long dead with almost all of the key developers having left the company.

I got a progression breaking bug in Oceanview hotel that the patch says it's addressed and fixed but it isn't. For anyone on the fence, don't buy it. I had an amazing time until this bug made it impossible to finish the game and completely soured my experience.

@DennisReynolds I hope so too. I'm impressed on how good Alan Wake 2 is and the freedom they were given to make the game as they wanted it to be. Shame that it didn't have a physical release, that definitely hurt the sales figures.

Let's hope someone funds his idea. Sam is a very creative man and even though not every game released by Remedy was amazing, they're always attempting to do new things with both storytelling and gameplay.

Regardless of what people think of FFXIV and FFXVI Yoshi P is clearly dedicated to his work and genuinely loves Final Fantasy. Sakaguchi acknowledging that was probably a dream come true.

So, after that 2000 word article explaining why this game was vastly superior to the other ones and it took a new step forward for the series, it gets a 7? I guess it doesn't matter how much technology you put into a game, if you're pumping these yearly it's never going to be amazing.
Development costs time and effort. No matter how talented the developers are, it's impossible to make a masterpiece in a year. They're always going to range from acceptable to mediocre.

Fortunately here in the UK physical media is still quite prevalent. But I do worry about the future, ever since I was a kid I wanted to have a collection and now that I have the ability to they might go extinct soon.

@Loamy I haven't played in a while but from I recall a lot of criticism was towards nerfing classes and making it extremely difficult to get legendary items. Also for a period of time you could accidentally buy the battle pass with one click, which was pretty shady.

It's definitely not staggering. If you consider how The Witcher 3 sold and how the pre-orders for Cyberpunk went, the game would easily be over 30 million copies sold by now.
The atrocious launch and the reputation attached to it held the sales back and this game will probably never reach The Witcher 3 in total sales.

Cyberpunk 2077 is a success, but a smaller one than most predicted.

I still think he is too greedy and pushes too much for predatory practices, yet I would never say he wasn't successful as a CEO.
