It's nice to see a comment section where people understand the developers screwed up a bit and are doing everything they can to fix it as quickly as possible.
The game might have come out a bit rough around the edges, but clearly the studio is really dedicated into making it a better experience for everyone.
@D6rkLordS6t6n They've already announced they are adding control options in a patch, so all this complaining has become completely pointless.
They're clearly listening to feedback, but it's easier to complain than to accept that they've made mistakes, acknowledged them, and are actively going to fix them as soon as possible.
@Max_the_German They clearly didn't test with people that had issues with it. They're also fixing it very soon. You're blowing the issue out of proportion.
Wonderful game with some glaring flaws. If you like a vast open world based on exploration, discovery and hard but satisfying combat, this game is a 10/10.
But it's also buggy, the story is meh, and cities and humans are very clearly video game characters, stiff with very little interaction. I could see this being someone's 6/10.
Overall loved it, it will probably be my game of the year, but definitely not for everyone.
@lazarus11 Yeah, I saw that coming too! These big websites want to rush through a game to pump out reviews, to them these games "don't respect their time".
Expected. Journalists put zero effort, want yellow paint pointing exactly where they need to go and cry at any slight difference or difficulty in a game.
I'll wait until real people review the game instead of the "expert" journalists.
That's the perfect solution. I tried it once and the micro transactions were egregious. If they release it at a reasonable price and don't try to push micro transactions again, I might bite the bullet.
@DestructionAllstars Are you ok? Do you need a doctor for permanent caps lock syndrome? I heard it's extremely acute in incredibly obnoxious people. I hope you recover soon.
The game looks great, I really wish it wasn't an extraction shooter. In my opinion they're far too punishing and I'd rather play a game where I feel rewarded for my efforts.
I'll try this just like I tried Arc Raiders, but it will probably be a pass.
@PuppetMaster It's an opinion, if you don't like it it's not my problem.
I'm not a fan of action schlock. The dialogue is awful and the characters completely unbelievable. There are plenty of people that don't like F&F movies due to subpar writing and forced, ridiculous action scenes. But eh, whatever.
As many cited here, the performance in base PS5 is probably going to be subpar, but this game has so much to it that I really think it has potential to be the game of the year.
I'm cautiously optimistic and will wait for the reviews to bite the bullet.
@wildcat_kickz I agree with you that it's not as egregious as Into the Darkness was, I just think that due to modern cinicism, directors fundamentally don't understand that Star Trek is about an almost utopian society where we finally got our sh*t together and learned how to be a united front.
As you said, it's a matter of taste. I don't wish this film to fail as I like Helldivers, but I'm not hopeful about it. If I'm wrong, it's a win for everyone.
@PuppetMaster That's where we differ on movie tastes I guess. I think every Fast and Furious movie is absolutely awful and Star Trek Beyond is a bastardisation of what Star Trek is about. Generic action flick instead of a story about human development, working together, and diplomacy.
Since you like his movies, I hope you enjoy it, but I'm out.
To be fair, Yakuza 3 was the last game that needed a relevant update. The gameplay was very clunky and the graphics were a bit weird. RGG was clearly not used to the PS3 and Yakuza 4 perfected both gameplay and graphics and doesn't feel dated by comparison.

Re: Hands On: Crimson Desert Runs Well Enough on PS5 Pro, But What About That Intro?
You could also just learn the new controls? It took me 5 minutes to adapt and I'm by no means a skilled player.
The time and effort that took you to write this article is much more than what's required to learn how to play the game.

Re: There's a New Live Action Yakuza Adaptation, and You Can Watch It for Free
@dancingstar93 That is fair point. Some of the actors there are spot on.
Re: Crimson Desert's Mixed Reviews See Dev's Share Price Drop Almost 30%
@RomanRiz The game is number 1 in sales in almost every platform currently, what are you talking about?

Re: Microsoft Is Putting 3 Xbox Games on PS5 in Just a Few Weeks
I've been told that due to the 'everything is an Xbox' initiative I'll soon be able to install Starfield directly in my brain.
Can't wait to have the ability to clip through objects in real life due to unforeseen bugs in the game.

Zelnick always had balanced takes.
He's an extremely competent CEO. His goal is to maximise profits, so it doesn't even come from a place of passion, it's just pure analysis.
Re: Opinion: Crimson Desert Could Be PS5 Game of the Year, or a Total Mess
Open world medieval fantasy. It might not be for everyone, but it's definitely for me.

Re: Poll: Has PS5's Dynamic Pricing Debacle Changed Your Relationship with the PS Store at All?
Deku Deals solves this problem. I buy it when the product is a its lowest price there. I just go to the store to purchase not to browse.
Sony can go f itself.

He's unhappy with criticism and goes for the ad hominem because he has no valid points.
Pathetic.

"I'm in this photo and I don't like it"
Re: PS6 Competitor from Xbox Revealed as Project Helix
And why would I buy it if I can buy a PC?
The PC crowd won't convert to it and the console crowd doesn't like multiple stores and lack of exclusivity.
It truly is a product for no one.

Capcom discovered that the super hidden secret to success is making good games.
Apparently other AAA developers still haven't figured that out.
Re: Highguard Permanently Shuts Down on 12th March
@ButterySmooth30FPS That's a fair point. I agree with you, they're all chasing this golden goose.
Re: Highguard Permanently Shuts Down on 12th March
@ButterySmooth30FPS You just listed a few games that span almost 2 decades of releases.
What you just proved is that very few live service games thrive and the vast majority dies.
Re: 140K+ Players Slam Marathon Servers in Pre-Launch Test, and That's Just on PC
It's clearly not for the Destiny crowd.
I played it and found it boring, slow and frustrating. Even the soundtrack is monotone and sleep inducing.
Also the menu UI is godawful. They clearly haven't learned from Destiny's mistakes in that regard.
Saying that, a lot of my negative feelings are subjective and genre based, I think the extraction shooter crowd will be satisfied.
I still think this game will live in the shadow of Arc Raiders, which feels like a more complete product.
Re: Project Windless Dev Explains the Game's Giant Rooster-Man Protagonist

With DekuDeals existing, that's a baby step compared to it.
Re: Wait! Some Fans Will Be Playing Horizon's Divisive PS5, PC Multiplayer Game This Weekend
Divisive? No, I think most people are aligned on this one.
Nobody cares.
Re: Sony Makes Shocking Decision to Shut Down Bluepoint Games
With all due respect, Sony can go f*ck itself.
Re: Avowed Dev Hopes RPG's Biggest Criticism Has Been Fixed for PS5 Launch
The biggest issue with the game is how dead every city looks and how bland the dialogue and quests are.
The gameplay is actually quite solid, it's unfortunate the quality of Obsidian's writing and worldbuilding is so weak nowadays.
It's still a fun game to play, but it doesn't feel Obsidian at all.

Just googled Justin Lin's filmography. Mostly Fast and Furious films. Zero chance of this being good.
Re: Arguably Underrated RPG Blades of Fire Forges Major 2.0 Update on PS5
Quite correctly rated game.
Mediocre in every possible way.
Re: No More Yakuza Kiwami Games After Kiwami 3 Story Changes, New Series Could Happen
To be fair, Yakuza 3 was the last game that needed a relevant update. The gameplay was very clunky and the graphics were a bit weird.
RGG was clearly not used to the PS3 and Yakuza 4 perfected both gameplay and graphics and doesn't feel dated by comparison.
I'm ok with no more remakes.
Re: Romeo Is a Dead Man (PS5) - Absurd, Entertaining, and Tedious All at Once
I always hope Suda will learn from his mistakes but it never seems to happen.
His games have such an unique interesting artistic vision, but at the same time major issues that bring them down a lot in terms of quality.
Maybe one day he'll finally release his Magnum Opus.
Re: Mewgenics Is This Year's Best-Rated Game So Far, and It May Come to PS5
@Oram77 Yeah, Rockstar said it's definitely coming out this year, but you never know.
Especially with all the firings that have happened, that might've affected the company more than we know.
Re: Mewgenics Is This Year's Best-Rated Game So Far, and It May Come to PS5
RE 9 and GTA VI are coming out this year. It's a cool title to have, but it won't last long.
Re: Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties (PS5) - Colossal, Confident Remake Makes Controversial Changes
@ShogunRok Great review!
I'm curious about the combat and progression, from the demo it felt a bit too simplistic when you're not in Heat Mode.
Also I saw nothing about leveling up stats and skills. Is it a grind like Kiwami 2?
Re: Poll: What's Your Reaction to Horizon Hunters Gathering?
And people thought Highguard was going to be Concord 2.
Jokes aside, this is the biggest meh ever. Not horrible, not great, not memorable.
