@DonJorginho Ah, cool! Good to see a positive perspective from someone who's seem a few reviews. Writing was my worse fear because of ME: Andromeda and I'm still on the fence about this one.
@Flaming_Kaiser The right and the left wing are as closed minded as each other. The only reason you think the right wing is more close minded is because you have more affinity for the left wing. Both groups are closed in echo chambers of agreement and unwilling to hear the other side.
The religion rambling makes zero sense. Religion doesn't dictate tolerance, people dictate religion and therefore tolerance based on religion. Religion is created by humans and people are tolerant or not, the institution is just a reflection of who is part of it.
Hardcore gamers what? At this point you're making zero sense. Calm down and think a bit before typing. A lot of hardcore gamers love a female protagonist, Samus is a clear example of that. You're focusing on a loud small group that most people, including me, dislikes and don't associate with.
Where did I disagree with people fighting for their rights? I just pointed out that WB did show respect for trans people and questioned what more could be done by them.
You're clearly emotional and biased about the subject. It's very hard to hold a conversation because everything I say is treated as if I'm personally attacking you.
I have nothing against you as a person, I just see a lot of flaws and holes in your argument. You carry a lot of biases against certain groups and opinions, yet preaches freedom of speech, and at the same time show incredible frustration if the person disagrees with you.
It is also my freedom of speech to criticise people that say they won't buy a product because of someone who's not directly associated with it anymore.
They can criticise the game, and I can criticise them for what I think is hipocrisy on their part.
Funny to see people criticising the game for being transphobic when they've distanced themselves from the author and there's a trans character in the game.
@Skeletor85 I played it too. I don't hate it, I just find it boring, repetitive and like every other Ubisoft game. Also, considering how much variety the Star Wars franchise can give, the environments looked boring.
I think what killed this game is not hate, but indifference. People grew tired of the Ubisoft formula.
@EchoRange I didn't make two accounts buddy. I've been registered since 2020 and live in the UK. The other person has been registered since 2024 and is from the Netherlands. I have hundreds of comments and this other person has a lot too. You can see our writing style is completely different.

It's an Assassin's Creed clone stripped down to it's most basic gameplay.
It looks bland, it has no edge. It's an outlaw game where you can barely commit crimes and be a real outlaw.
It's "Greedo shot first" turned into a game.
@thefourfoldroot1 If it's something that Sony won't allow, they'll step in.
Push Square is reporting on Sony related news, which is exactly what we're here for.
@Gamer83 Who's running this campaign against the game? Review websites gave the game great reviews, yt channels are praising it and twitch streamers were enjoying a lot playing the game. It has detractors, but it's a small minority and you're blowing it out of proportion.
Also the person above you made a legitimate question. China is a huge country and it would be interesting to know how many copies were sold there. It's an undeniable success, but to deny that it was partly successful because it was probably China's biggest game ever is just ignoring part of the story.
It's a mediocre game with no stand out features or unique gameplay. People love to say that the live service model is the problem but that's not it. Helldivers showed that live service can be done correctly. It's not a good game, that's the problem. It looks average, it plays slowly and the character design is abysmal.
It's the weakest in a series of great games. Disconnected areas, a lot of glitches, bad hit detection, weird movement, repetitive and uninspired bosses. But it also has amazing areas like Majula and it can look great depending where you are. It's the worst of the best.
@Prime_Objective I still stand by my opinion. The PS5 is not seem as a platformer console and nowadays Mario is the only platformer that sells on the same level as an Open World action game. But tbh, I do hope you're right and I'm wrong on this one.
The thing is that 90% of people here including me at Push Square are going to buy Astro Bot. But we're a niche group and nowadays games like Astro Bot are niche games. The responsibility is on Sony to manage their expectations and not want these games to sell like God of War or TLoU.
Why? The third one was mediocre with very outdated design and Yakuza does everything Shenmue does but better. Shenmue is one of those series where the nostalgia goggles go really hard. The original ones were revolutionary but play horribly nowadays. Great concept that has been iterated and improved upon.
Yeah, just like last year EA FC 24 looked amazing and innovative. It wasn't. Every year there are articles on Push Square talking about how amazing the next iteration of a sports game is going to be and every year when the game is released it's just a tweaked version of an old game.
@NeonTiger It wasn't my intention. I write the same way I speak. I already said they are reasons people use to dislike him, not facts. You're clearly looking for someone to have an argument with and I'm not that person. I won't be replying to you anymore.
@NeonTiger I wasn't stating everything as a fact. I'm saying what was the people's perception of him. He always talked about Hollywood and he's been to every red carpet event that he has every red carpet event he had the opportunity to. Also his games are written and played in a very "cinematic" way. Does that make him a Hollywood shill? Maybe, maybe not. But the person asked me why Neil Druckmann was hated by some. I gave him the reasons people use to dislike him, not undeniable facts.
@JuiceboxMeister There a few things that made him unlikable for some people and then others blew out of proportion. Uncharted 4 is great example to start with. It was a light hearted series that never took its violence seriously and you can see the turn on the fourth game, having torture scenes and being overall grittier than previous entries. Druckmann said he wanted to make more grounded and serious games and that plus The Last of Us showed that he meant it. Some people dislike The Last of Us as series calling it torture porn, especially because even though the first game was violent, the second one turns that up a lot. Some people hated him because of the death of a character in the Last of Us II and some people hated the depiction of queer characters in both games. There was some valid criticism towards the plot being exploitative and violent for the sake of it, but also there was a mix of prejudicial people trying to justify their behavior. There was the news that Naughty Dog had excessive amounts of crunch and instead of apologising for it, his response amounted to what it seemed like a shrug saying it is inevitable and there's no good solution for it. Also there's the fact that he seems to be a big Hollywood fan and some people accuse him of being a shill that wants approval from that industry. These are the main facts that I can remember about Neil that make him a controversial figure.
My personal opinion about him is also negative, but never because of the human being he is. I don't like that he didn't speak out against crunch culture and I think his narrative devices can be exploitative. I also think that the end of The Last of Us II was incredibly unsatisfying and it didn't make sense with the rest of the narrative. That's basically it. Sorry for the long reply.
@Jacko11 Fair enough, not unreasonable to have that opinion. I'm my case I don't like him because he defended crunch culture. But I do think he gets an overwhelming amount of hate.
@Jacko11 He expressed his opinion which you might like it or not. Meanwhile you called him a clown without any direct provocation. You're in the wrong here, buddy. Ad hominem arguments never lead to anything constructive.
I don't like the guy because of him being in favor of crunch culture, but this is completely on Sony. They've basically lied about what he said and that's really shady.
In Druckmann's mind if he can replace those pesky employees that complain about crunch and being overworked to the point of burnout with a nonstop working AI it will be great! AI doesn't get tired or complain, right?
@Korgon How many other Assassin's Creed had a protagonist from a different origin than the game that it was set on? 0 Some people are angry because it looks like they're pandering to a certain crowd. Of course you also have the people that are angry due to obvious racist reasons. Overall I think it's a mix of people upset that a game set in Japan is not going to have a Japanese protagonist and some horrible people being horrible.
Unfortunately for me it's one of the worst aspects of DA Origins. The game held me over due to its amazing characters and plot, but I doubt Greedfall 2 would do the same.
And then they're going to push the sales goalpost to 20 million copies per game and be disappointed when it doesn't reach that. Square Enix is its own worst enemy.

Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard (PS5) - The Best BioWare Game Since Mass Effect 3
@DonJorginho Ah, that's more than fair.
Have you seen skill up's review of it? It was much more critical. Not saying they're correct, just a different point of view.
Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard (PS5) - The Best BioWare Game Since Mass Effect 3
@DonJorginho One person gave the game an 8 and that automatically makes it good?
That's as shallow as the people who criticized the purple haired characters.

Re: Metaphor: ReFantazio Immediately Tops 1 Million Sales at Launch
The Industry should pay attention to the importance of demos.
The trailer didn't convince me at all as it wasn't clear what the game was about.
Playing the demo helped it so much and I knew it was going to be a solid game.
It also helps being an RPG where the plot takes off quite quickly, contrary from the norm.
