Re: PSVR2 Launches 22nd February 2023, Costs $550

You can argue about whether or not the price is right for the tech that you are getting, but for me the question is why has Sony gone down the premium, high cost road? They must know there is no chance of VR cutting through into the mainstream at this price. No chance of this outselling PSVR 1 so I'm really not sure what they are trying to achieve. Seems a waste of resources to me.

Re: Big PS Store Indie Sale Live Now, Over 1,000 PS5, PS4 Games Included

Ooccoo_Jr

@Gamer_Guy I feel exactly the same. I have stopped buying games almost completely (other than in a ridiculous sale or unmissable titles like Silksong when it comes) and I worry about the knock on effect to developers of these Indie titles in particular. Before I would have bought Deaths Door and other's of that size and quality but now I just wait. I really should be supporting the teams that make them and I really hope games like this don't disappear as they are no longer profitable.

Re: Gamescom Opening Night Live Will Subject Us to More Sonic Frontiers

Ooccoo_Jr

What a ridiculous headline and article. Aren't we all meant to be video game fans here? Since when is a new trailer for the new game of one of the most iconic characters in history something to be "subjected" to? If you are not looking forward to the game then fine go write something else, but some of us are still giving this the benefit of the doubt. I want the game to be great and I welcome the opportunity for a new trailer to get us all excited again

Re: UK Sales Charts: Horizon Forbidden West Soars Back to the Top

Ooccoo_Jr

@Dezzy70 That's a good point so I googled it and found this from PushSquare in May:

"Horizon Forbidden West has come top of the newest weekly UK sales chart documenting physical purchases thanks to the latest PS5 hardware bundle offered by Sony. While the official bundle only included a code for a digital download, Chris Dring of GamesIndustry.biz has clarified GfK counts codes supplied in bundles as physical sales. As a result, the PlayStation exclusive takes first place."

Re: PS Plus Collection's Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Won't Upgrade to PS5 for Free

Ooccoo_Jr

@Voltan Fair enough, I stand corrected (serves me right for not googling to check). The intention was that it was full of PS4 games though so I had no expectation that free upgrades would be a given. What I do find annoying with the collection is when you have a situation with something like Persona 5 or FFXV but you can't pay an upgrade fee for the Royal editions (I don't think you can anyway, I haven't checked so please correct me if I am wrong again).

Re: Sony Shares First Look at PS Plus Extra, Premium Games

Ooccoo_Jr

@themuckman Agreed, the games you mentioned are easily worth price of admission alone. Valhalla is part of the Ubisoft classics range and bizarrely is the only AC game (so far) but is generous nonetheless. Guardians of the Galaxy is a great addition too. The only thing that worries me is how long the games will hang about on the service? Imagine being 80 hours into RDR2 and then it disappears one month.

Re: Gran Turismo 7 PS5, PS4 Patch Restores Servers After 24 Hours, Polyphony Digital Comments on Microtransactions

Ooccoo_Jr

@get2sammyb Who said anything about converting existing PS5 owners? Nonsense like locking people out of a 70 quid game, increasing the grind to intentionally push them towards microtransactions and charging huge amounts of real money for cars IN A 70 QUID GAME! and then trying to justify it by essentially saying "this is for your own good" makes Sony look terrible. Maybe existing PS5 owners won't switch, but lots of undecided Next Gen first timers definitely will.
