Thank you! I find it tricky to be too critical with indie games produced with love by a small team on a low budget, so much so that I felt a bit guilty only giving it a 6! Video games are supposed to be fun though and S+S felt like a chore a few too many times..
@Shepherd_Tallon I haven't played it since it came out but I remember it was great fun at the time, like an early version of Black Flag. Hopefully it's not too dated now... How have you managed to play it on PS classic?!
@Shepherd_Tallon I had completely forgotten about Overboard! Brilliant fun and Nightmare Creatures is a classic - Bloodborne's developers clearly thought so too.
Phew! A list of great games that sidesteps the obvious crowd-pleasers and champions underdog brilliance. Keep up the good work @RebeccaStow97 - more obscure recommendations please!
I'm going to grab a cheap Vita on Boxing day and enjoy some portable gems via Cross-buy on my PS4 store freebies! Merry Christmas Pushsquare buddies! X
A hugely refreshing list of games, thankfully sidestepping the obvious big budget titles which, while breathtaking in scope, often lack the character and individuality of small budget projects. More underdog lists please!
We Happy Few and Steep for PS4, Stacking for PS3, Uncharted: Golden Abyss for Vita, Driver 76 for PSP, Timesplitters 2 for PS2 and Nightmare Creatures for PS1!
No man's sky (loads more content each week! ) plus Horace Goes Skiing Remastered on Vita and of course Meteor Storm on the ZX Spectrum. Always a pleasure!
I'm enjoying No Man's Sky and the latest massive update, Visions. Loads to discover and the extra planetary details are really impressive. By the way can anyone who posts the phrase "word up son" please refrain from doing so? It's quite embarrassing.
Yep a fresh review please! More variety across the generated planets will further enhance what is a truly unique gaming experience. I love it! The tiresome comments referring to the launch hype must surely dry up soon - if they took time to explore the updated game instead of bleating about old news, they'd realise how much fun it is...
@Bonbonetti Thanks for the tennis recommendations - hard to believe that they're the only 2 realistic tennis games on the PS4. I used to love Top Spin so will check out AO! Enjoy the Aardman game - it looks fantastic
Imagine Keighley stripped to the waist, oiled up, announcing not only the new Syphon Filter game, but also a 3D HD reboot of The Last V8. What's not to like? I wuv you, Geoff. Kissy kissy time?
This is more bollocks than I originally thought. Would pay £9.99 for it and would enjoy it for an evening but absolutely not the crazy price they're asking. A 2nd hand backwards compatible PS3 or PS2 would make far more sense, no?
Why would anyone buy this when it adds nothing new and limits you to 20 games? There are plenty of second hand consoles available cheaper with a vast choice of second hand games. Pointless rip-off to add to Sony's previous attempts to resell it's back catalogue to people who have already bought it!
I'm hoovering up all the bits and pieces I missed when playing through Rise of the Tomb Raider. More enjoyable than cleaning up the map on Black Flag! Terribly 2016 i know; but that's what happens when you can't justify buying a £50 game on a low wage. I'll grab a 2nd hand copy of RDR2 next year and enjoy it just as much as if I had paid through the nose on day one. Also getting back into Project Cars 2 which is staggering in its attention to detail.
@sonicmeerkat I imagine Sony have publishers queuing up to be one of the free monthly games and I doubt they are rewarded at all aside from the exposure. I guess if there's DLC they can make some sheckles from that. Any ideas @getsammyb?
I can't stop playing No Man's Sky since the Next update so whenever I get any time at the weekend, I'll dive back in. It's an incredibly relaxing experience but always compulsive. In between NMS I've been enjoying Detention - a highly atmospheric horror adventure.
I'm looking forward to the No Man's Sky update on July 24th. It'll be interesting to see how online multiplayer affects the overall dynamic, and what single player extras are on offer.
@Outkastar "Gonna sting you real good...." Great game and better than Twisted Metal I reckon. Surely Driver should get a mention? Outstanding car physics and a big influence on GTA

Re: Martha Is Dead (PS5) - Censorship Is the Biggest Story in This Uneven Horror
@twitchtvpat Do you seriously think the devs and publishers have any say in whether their game is censored?
Re: Gran Turismo 7 Dazzles with Unedited Deep Forest Raceway PS5 Gameplay
I don't think I've ever seen such an uninspiring racing game video. Utterly dull, no sense of speed and certainly no reason to buy a PS5.
Re: PS Plus August 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Announced
Tennis World Tour 2 is beyond awful and the other two games are of zero interest to me.

Re: Smoke and Sacrifice - Dark and Rueful Survival RPG
@sarahbasma Nice review Sarah. I reviewed S+S for PSU and put much the same. Decent story and design but frustrating combat and crafting..
Re: Feature: 10 Under-the-Radar PS4 Games to Look Out for in 2019
Man of Medan as long as it's not too dingey and Moving Out looks fun.
Rico reminds me of Timesplitters from the screenshot which is no bad thing!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 251
I've dipped back into The Archers as scripted by John Wyndham - Everybody's gone to the Rapture. It's getting creepier by the hour...
Merry Christmas to you all! See you in 2019 which surely has to be better than the shower of poo that was 2018!

Re: The First Tree - A Deep and Meaningful Journey
Great review! Loved the trailer - the art style and fox reminded me of Rime
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 249
Wipeout Omega Collection (hypno eye frazzler) and Shadow of the Tomb Raider demo (more of the same but that's a good thing! )
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 248
Resogun and Layers of fear, both massive bargains in the never ending P'S Store sales. Both great so far!

Re: Project Highrise: Architect's Edition - An Architect for Success
Yep looks great! A bit like Fallout Shelter without the diseases.
Re: Guide: Where to Buy and Pre-Order the PlayStation Classic Mini Console
Am I the only person who thinks this is utter cack? A total rip off - without the ability to add more games the novelty will wear off within hours...
Re: Talking Point: What Free November 2018 PlayStation Plus Games Do You Want?
Pick up and play games please, not sprawling 30+ hour epics from 3 years ago which now look and play a bit crap (God of War 3 and Mafia 3 for example)

@RedMan33 So Gravel and Monkey Island then.

Cities Skylines, Horizon Zero Dawn and Hunting Simulator please. Not the last one.
