Original Story: Path of Exile 2 developer Grinding Gear Games has confirmed that Patch 0.1.1 is dropping this week. It'll be the action RPG's first major update, as the team gears up for 2025 as a whole.
We don't have official patch notes just yet, but in the above video, game director Jonathan Rogers gives an overview of what you can expect. Basically, the goal of Patch 0.1.1 is to address immediate concerns — mostly with regards to balance — without having to completely overhaul systems or mechanics.
We've gathered the main points into a handy list:
- Better, more rewarding mapping
- Added four more Tower maps
- Overhauled existing Tower map
- More boss maps will spawn
- New tablet lets you add bosses to your map
- Overhauled strongboxes
- Overhauled map clutter and visual effects for better visibility on some maps
- Elemental explosion visuals have been improved for better visibility
- Increased the Atlas' zoom level
- Fixed terrain collision issues on many maps
- Improved load times when opening the map or Atlas
- Numerous League improvements to make challenges more rewarding
- Various improvements to loot
- Rebalancing of specific bosses and monsters
- Added item filters for console players
- Numerous bug fixes
It all sounds rather positive, and as Rogers says, this is really just the beginning when it comes to improving Path of Exile 2. Again, the team's got a busy year ahead — and we can't forget that this is still technically an early access release.

This is how much copium I'm on, I thought the picture was something to do with Blood Borne 😭😭
Sounds good to me, fell off a bit around Xmas but i'm sure this will get me back in.
While the patch is good I was disappointed with the nearly complete lack of console specific stuff.
Yay we got filters I am sure that will help the screen tearing, FPS drops and the numerous other things console players have issues with & have reported.
This is further compounded by an interview with Jonathan Rodger & Mark Roberts on the Tavern Talk podcast immediately after the patch announcement.
They were asked many questions and gave multi-minute detailed answers to those questions except when asked about consoles.
Their answer was basically we need to do better with nothing specific for consoles given and quickly rushed on to next question.
I know it's early access and they have a lot to deal with but it feels pretty bad being a console player who is giving feed back at this point.
It's that lack of engagement from GGG that is pushing me away from PoE 2 more than any of the actual issues.
Waiting for release.
@djlard Same. Glad I waited on Diablo too. These games need time in the oven before they’re at their best.
I have to admit, i bought the game twice because of the lag of Quality of Life on Console, i bought an early access key for PC to better manage my Inventory~ sadly... sony... sucks... as they don't allow to share stashes bought on PS... (upgrading stashes on PC works tho to share these)
Anyway Loot filter & Sell addons are really main issue i currently play on PC... tho i do have hopes they will improve stuff soonish~ with lootfilter i might finally enjoy mapping on my TV again
Played this all weekend. Absolutely fantastic game - the true spiritual successor to Diablo II.
Will this patch include an option to increase text size? Some of it is so tiny 🙁
My main game right now, will probably stay so till KCD2.
Absolutelly amazing! Hated diablo4 on consoles, but this plays great. Encountered very little issues.
@Nightcrawler71 They mentioned that issue and will fix it soon, as the developer has forgotten that ppl will sit 3meters away from TV while playing . No specific date when tho~ soonish~
@wildcat_kickz I agree..I've been playing this off and on but I dropped off it over Xmas but I'll be jumping back on it as soon as the patch drops.
@Northern_munkey Picked it up about a week ago and I've been totally hooked; already in Cruel difficulty. The buildcrafting is just so next-level, but love that they've streamlined the currency from the first PoE.
Actually we got 0.1.1 a few days ago (monday) and 0.1.2 today that activates 0.1.1 🍻😉
Does it include a monument that memorializes Percy_Verence?
@Zeke68 indeed. I played a few hours last night and it seems to be smoother and more balanced.
@Northern_munkey Same experience here. The monday patch removed ALOT of my resistances but now after yesterdays patch everything seems to work as intended again. And I hope they release the next contentpatch soon so I can try level a druid and see if it's easier and more smooth than the grind that I had for my first 6 characters I leveled up so far.
@Zeke68 it is much better.
@Northern_munkey Glad to hear that! Have a great weekend my friend 🍻
I fell off pretty hard since the game is still in a very rough shape. I'll probably check out the patch tho.
