Yeah I really doubt FS would nerf their baby into oblivion. To be fair the headline on the article doesn’t help, and fans the flames for clicks (Which it’s worked to their credit)
You’ll still rage at the mega boss don’t worry 😉 and if you find all the bosses easy because you are that damn good you would have found it easy regardless pre or post patch 😂
I know right the base Elden made several adjustments over the years (Radhann alone was tweaked multiple times, nerfs and buffs just to find the best balance). And is that game ruined? Nope people got over it.
The same way the they are pointing the finger at people airing frustrations about the game that they spend money on and have a right to do whether you agree or not(I really think steam needs a “maybe” recommend option), the purest complain about a minor adjustment… the irony 😂😂
I’m running a dual light greatsword and giant katana build myself on my second run (I won’t name them of course)
So yeah your blessing 5 is like a blessing 7 old patch, but if you’re exploring and find all the fragments which I’m sure you will the difference between the 2 patches is 5% so not exactly earth shattering 😂
@Korgon Have you infused those blades out of interest or are they just standard?
There is a massive difference in this game though as the game has a reputation for being tough but fair. And the imbalance in this game is more noticeable because of the difficulty of the major (not optional) bosses.
The weapon inbalance is more extreme than the base game imo As I never felt most weapons were underpowered just others were better.
@roe
I don’t mind it as no game is perfect and well balanced especially straight away when it’s this big and open.
And I imagine their testers are crazy good and may not reflect the skill level of your average soul player so it’s not unimaginable to think minor adjustments are made.
I found gaius hard but readable, some bosses I struggled with due to the visual noise and cameras flipping out trying to keep up.
I have found Elden as a whole have good boss design foundations that are always overdeveloped just a touch like they add just one or 2 unfair BS moves.
@themightyant as someone who fought it yes, it’s balanced poor in terms of standard weapons that don’t take advantage of status builds like bleed. It shouldn’t be nerfed but rebalanced in terms of damage, they should increase resistances for bleed and others. But lower physical defense a bit. That way one play style isn’t far and away the more superior.
The boss also has some readability issues, Melania was hard but her moves were readable.
The final boss has so many effects going on and so quick it’s hard to actually see what you are should be dodging and which exact move is which, especially considering Elden increases boss aggressiveness and speed 100% anyway compared to older souls games so it compounds the issue. And I’m personally not a fan of that it feels cheap.
The could some of its moves more readable with a touch bigger damage window but increases its damage to compensate
Again not nerfing just rebalancing some attributes to make it fair.
I already finished it but the game indeed needed some balance changes, I was blessing 15 and my damage with a +10 colossal weapon was shocking against the final boss.
But switch to a bleed and the boss melts
The weapon Balance in needs work for sure, and the visual noise on some bosses is a bit much. I’m all for hard fun fights but I’d like to actually see clearly what I’m dodging 😂😂😂 (Especially when the game has a delay/buffer input to its controls)
For me definitely not a 10 “greatest dlc ever” it’s more like an 8
Makes you wonder if this will scare Sony into not doing day and date with PC on some titles if purely signing up to PSN is too much for some of these people to handle 😂
This was so overblown aside from people in proper affected countries (so I’m not including them in this)
Yes pushing back on actual problems is good.
But this? No way complain when the game is broken or something not this!
these people better be off the grid and not sign up for anything, no game pass, no apps… nothing otherwise they are complaining about very little.
The game has some polarising nature to it.
Like the story and characters had potential but are very weak, and after 40+ hours of basically walk-sprinting everywhere and fighting the same enemy types it can get dull for some.
Yeah fast travel is too expensive, but I get that they want people to travel more so they really should make the sprint not drain stamina outside of combat this may help with that without breaking their vision.
Watching your character get winded constantly is frustrating.
It feels like the devs wanted you to be immersed by the world and not the characters actually in it really which unfortunately had the opposite effect on me but for others it’s perfect for them.
The game is still fun but not a masterpiece to me by any stretch.
The only MT that bothers me is the the port crystal one as limited fast travel options is a slight hang up for me combined with the expensive ferrystones and limited port crystals getting around the map is a bit of a slog (so charging for extra seems a bit scummy), but fine if that’s their vision whatever that mechanic is just not for me personally.
The performance on the other hand is rough, it’s just not stable enough.
Is it unplayable? No you can get through it fine enough
Do we deserve better for a full price AAA game? hell yes!
Knowingly releasing it in that state is bad, and should be called out.
Well this further validates my reason to wait and not buy at launch. I knew they would pull BS like this, and I doubt this is the end. I’m waiting for the fes edition years later
While I understand what he is trying to say but…no. After the first couple times exploring the map it gets old fast for me. And as much as I enjoyed Dogma dark risen, traveling and lack of fast travel spots made it a bit of a slog when you saw your quest on the furthest side of the map and you have to get there on foot…
Seems like a surprising but fine placing, I got to the end of act 3 and couldn’t play anymore.
I’m definitely not one of those people fawning over it.
It’s very good but the combat… I hated it I’d try to avoid it any way I could.
The characters are great, the main story was very meh (the side quests were great though) so for me a mixed bag.
I don’t play many Ubisoft games so what’s the difference between Ubisoft tropes and an open world like Horizon they both seem to have a similar approach imo no?
I’m genuinely curious about everyone’s opinion as my only Ubisoft open world game I played was fc6 and found it enjoyable.
@The_Pixel_King in my opinion from what I remember of persona 3 it has the best story, and darker imo.
But yeah it’s not complete, they remade the base version and not the “royal” version so I definitely hope by the time you get around to purchasing it the that edition will have been announced 🤞🏾
@RubyCarbuncle I never had that issue myself so may be a limited few, but that would have been patch by now as there has been many updates I wouldn’t worry.
If that’s the only thing stopping you, go play! have fun with it!
@Papa_Godzilla
Woah woah I just said it was decent…it’s not great, excellent or ground breaking in anyway imo so I agree with you.
It was 1 part predictable, and 1 part half baked and rushed (in particular ultima)
But to give credit to voice acting again the voice cast did great with what they had to work with 😂
It’s a roller coaster action game (very set piece focused) there is definitely an audience for that stuff (plus the story is decent, and the voice acting and some tracks are excellent with high production values)
But yeah if final fantasy to you is a party of interesting characters, rpg mechanics, nice side quests and a world to explore with mini games…then nope this may not be quite the right fit for you as things will feel missing(as it was for me).
As its focus was clearly story and the action combat system.
But I can see why it is liked.
Hopefully they add more rpg elements otherwise I’ll give this a miss, just adding another summon is not enough really for me.
As more Clive isn’t an interest for me, I’d be way more interested in Jill, Cid or Benedikta back story. Buuuuut I’m not their target audience anymore so… meh whatever make them money I guess 😂😂😂
Ff16 should be in best action game not best rpg
As it’s rpg elements are terrible and shallow BUT it clearly targets towards more action/adventure which it does well.
@Grimwood I hated the demo too, the only reason I gave it a shot was because of word of mouth and I’m enjoying it. The demo didn’t do it any favours for me
@roe if it helps they only nerfed three bosses I believe, and the one I’m on now the nerf is welcome because it only nerfed the first phase which had way too much health for a two phase fight.
I would have preferred just respec change and buffs to weapon types (like the slower weapons) but I guess these changes are easier to do fast.

Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update
@B0udoir have you actually seen the increases?
It’s not broken it just increases percentages and makes it more forgiving around 10-17 blessing.
The game was already broken with the busted builds you can make so to say this breaks the game is a touch extreme.
Like the difference between pre patch and post patch if you get all 20 blessing levels is 5%
FIVE PERCENT!! But no THIS is what breaks the game… it’s broken now 😂😂😂
Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update
The worst part about this minor balance adjustments like this is it can bring out the elitist, wee wee swinging gamers hahaha
The game is still going to be challenging jheez

@GilSnapper they kind of did that just don’t get the fragments lol

All this I found is build dependant what build are you running?
This game has a weapon balance issue for sure.
Depending on your set up you can have a very easy or crazy hard time
Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update
@GeeForce the games were also way shorter, it couldn’t be patched and the internet didn’t exist.
