Re: Suddenly the PS5 Pro Doesn't Look That Expensive Anymore

Nalodart

@Frmknst
Your reply was pointless (but at least you type it yourself so congrats ) yes people are screaming because it’s true we are seeing it play out now.
Or should I be more apathetic (like your reply suggests) and just use whatever I’m being shoved in my face and just say “I’ll end up using it anyway ah well”

If we use it in 10 years time how it’s advertised now, we will all be dumber especially the future generations.

Idiocracy is becoming more of a reality now than ever.

Re: Suddenly the PS5 Pro Doesn't Look That Expensive Anymore

Nalodart

Ai continues to create shockwaves that negatively affect average people, whether it’s job security, energy bills soaring, cost of products, the environmental fallout, not to mention the scary ability to spread misinformation with how realistic videos are getting.

All for what to generate art, emails or work we are too lazy to learn to create?
How is that a net positive for the average user?

Yeah there is medical and science benefits but that’s not how it’s trying to be used/marketed (it should focus on those fields exclusively).

This is a race to the bottom for sure.

I predict the wealth gap to increase, high quality jobs decrease and the hospitality, healthcare and gig sectors be the only increase in jobs.
And debt will continue to skyrocket

Re: Ghost of Yotei PS5 Sales Surpass 3.3 Million Units, Crush Boycott Nonsense

Nalodart

SP was in a lose/lose situation as once that joke was out no matter what they did they would annoy potential buyers and lose sales.
(I never bought it so they lost one right there, despite understanding why they did it)

The vast majority of the buyers don’t even know the controversy and are casuals so a boycott was never going to be catastrophic so unless you have a mirror that sees alternate timelines you don’t know how much they would have sold if the joke never happened.

Because 3.3 million in a month is good but not exactly gang busters, ff16 did 3 million in a week.

We shall see if it has legs and for the rest of the team I hope it does well.

Re: PS5's High Price Becoming a Serious Headache for Publishers

Nalodart

The game sold 10 million almost instantly, then suddenly the game drops off with many complaining about the bad optimisation.

Oh I wonder why it’s not selling well now?

Must be PlayStation plus and the low install base in Japan so let’s just ignore the elephant in the room.

Re: Helldivers 2 Dev Arrowhead Takes Blame for Killzone Pricing Blunder

Nalodart

The HD community man, seems very entitled.
I mean don’t they release FREE updates?

It’s like walking on egg shells every announcement.

From the time they cried at the thought of signing up to a free psn account in order to play the game (guaranteed they have made accounts before), and the devs caved.
I was thinking these devs are in for a rough ride with this lot.

And I was right unfortunately, good luck AH I hope you are making enough to keep your staff.

Re: Jennifer Hale Says AI Is Coming for All of Us

Nalodart

@riceNpea

“What does need regulating is passing off AI as human, and that's where we can hold to account companies via transparency, which will in turn allow us to close whether or not we support human or AI products. There is where the we can show that we value human input over AI and make companies retain workers.“

That’s exactly one of the things they are fighting for regulations though.

By that logic no profession is technically essential and most if not could be replaced with technology with enough enivitable advancements, but the appeal of creative ventures like writing, art, acting etc. is that humans are doing it just like sports.

If you lose that you lose the appeal, which is the reason they want companies to be transparent (and not use artists work to train their AI without consent)

Re: Jennifer Hale Says AI Is Coming for All of Us

Nalodart

@riceNpea oh wow sorry to hear that, it must suck to see trades like that have their demand shrink.

“ However, as consumers we do have the power to influence how pervasive AI is in this field. We can choose to not buy AI-driven products and we can seek to support traditional work.”

Yes and this is the exact reason artists are speaking out loudly now if they stay silent people wouldn’t know or talk about it like we are now.

Most artist don’t even want it stopped just regulated properly, because right now it is not and it need to be addressed.

Re: Jennifer Hale Says AI Is Coming for All of Us

Nalodart

@riceNpea

So tiling is the one that speaks to your soul, my point still stand what if that satisfying element was gone or heavily minimised, how would you feel?

“ Nobody appreciates the 'artistry' of a house and how it got to be the way it is”
I bet that can be a bit frustrating.

But this is also the fear with AI taking creative roles though, no one will appreciate it if it’s just something a AI spat out and maybe an artist cleaned it up

It will lose its magic.

Re: Jennifer Hale Says AI Is Coming for All of Us

Nalodart

@riceNpea

So it’s planning with a good eye for aesthetics, sounds like a good job.
I sense a great deal of pride when you mentioned tiling temples in marble, and I agree marble is beautiful.

So if they automated all the more creative parts from your job(didn’t do the job as well but good enough) let go half of the industry and paid who was left less money as the unique skills you have are less needed.
How would you feel about that? (Genuine question not attacking)

Re: Jennifer Hale Says AI Is Coming for All of Us

Nalodart

@riceNpea

That still sounds more technical (like creative problem solving) and less expressive but okay as I am not in that field it would be ignorant of me to try assume.

So would you say designing these electrical installations requires a lot of skill and is the highlight of the job?

AI has a place in technical and medical advancements, but creative things like art needs the human element and a lot of it.

Re: Jennifer Hale Says AI Is Coming for All of Us

Nalodart

@riceNpea ah so you don’t have a creative job, do you have a creative hobbies at least?

And if you don’t have any really (which is fine) what’s the best part about your job?

I have to disagree, this my friend is not a revolution to me…I usually find the people that say that are people that don’t or can’t create themselves (but I may be off base in relation to you so my bad if I am)

Re: Jennifer Hale Says AI Is Coming for All of Us

Nalodart

@Flaming_Kaiser sadly I agree with you, it will make the world worse and more creatively bankrupt.

The most inspiring thing about acting, voice acting, writing and art is that people creating or performed it.
If an AI did 80% of the creation it’s the AI’s “creation” and it loses all appeal it’s not impressive, inspiring or anything it loses its magic.

Could you if basketball for example just had one player on each team and all they had to do is pass the ball to a robot arm to shot for them.

Re: Jennifer Hale Says AI Is Coming for All of Us

Nalodart

@riceNpea that last paragraph about what you’re bothered by has nothing to do with the topic so i will ignore that little random rant at the end.

The issue is simple all those examples don’t disprove the worry, the issue isn’t that jobs in general will be gone it’s that the need for that skill set will dropped a lot.

Why have 10 artists when now you only need 1.
Will the economy be fine? Yes.
will this generate new and different jobs? Yes.
will people lose their jobs? Yes

You are right it will open doors but that is not what they fear, their fear is the specific door that is closed(or harder to open)
Creative door.
And it affects waaaaaaay more discipline all at once, actors, writers, artists etc.
And the job that it will introduce are far less appealing to a creative (it really gets the creative juices flowing being in a team of two fixing a generated content).

Out of interest what job do you do?

Re: Arrowhead Unveils 60-Day Plan to Placate Rebellious Helldivers 2 Fans

Nalodart

So glad I’m not in the H2 community, I’d hate to work on the game also.
But this is what happens when you give in to their demands (which was the dumb reason to review bomb in the first place) give them an inch they take a mile.
Now if you do any little thing they don’t like they know how to get what they want.

Re: Boba, Bare Feet, and Bins Headline Honkai: Star Rail's Big PS5 Update

Nalodart

@Carck

The fact that you overly simplified what I said ( I was giving EXAMPLES to anime in general MHA for example and I was trying to give understanding between people in the comment section… tall order I know) proves that you are being overly defensive and are missing my point.

Feel free to read my earlier message again in your own time.

I won’t reply to you after this don’t worry 😂

(Also who said I see every generic anime character and see little girls?! It’s the ones they purposely design to have a more child appearance which was my whole point which you chose to miss…Did you not read my comment right? Seriously read it again)

Re: Boba, Bare Feet, and Bins Headline Honkai: Star Rail's Big PS5 Update

Nalodart

@Carck

Okay let’s be real here, you can like something without defending everything, there is a very obvious visual choice made.

they draw younger characters in certain ways (Height being one of them).

Stating characters are voiced by adults is a terrible come back, children cartoon characters are voiced by (mostly female)adults too (probably Tara strong 😂), but in cases like this they make them sound super young it’s odd.

And also let’s not get it twisted, anime has a weird side when it comes to depiction of characters.
Like having child like proportioned characters being 1000 years old couch fire emblem is an example.

OR being over sexualised and they are still High school

Again like what you like but this isn’t the mountain to take the high ground on haha

Re: Talking Point: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2024 So Far?

Nalodart

@DarianStarfrog

Respectfully disagree, I dont thinks it’s bad by any means but I definitely don’t think it’s anything mind blowing it doesn’t even feel remotely “original”

It does make me wonder in an alternate reality would it be as hyped if it starring a “blander” character design with only one less form fitting outfit (no judgement really, but I do wonder as people try and side step that’s a massive part of the appeal)

Re: Talking Point: What's Your PS5 Game of the Year for 2024 So Far?

Nalodart

Two Stella blade nods, I wonder why 😂😂😂

For me it’s rebirth so far no question, shocked a bit none of the staff picked it.

We clearly do not share the same taste in games because I found HD2 boring and repetitive (I know all games are, before anyone come at me with that I mean I was conscious I was doing the same thing over and over because the presentation and game itself wasn’t immersing me)😂😂😂
And Stella blade was basically just fun combat and eye candy (decent music though)

Re: Elden Ring's Difficulty Destroyed By New Shield Weapons, as Players Call Them 'Absolutely Busted'

Nalodart

This game is balanced so oddly, from bosses to weapons it’s all over the place it’s laughable (cough perfume art if war) 😂😂
The main reason I can’t give it higher than 8.5 so many busted things around it’s combat that are not satisfying(crazy cameras on some bosses, busted builds, the last boss second phase is just not fun).

The atmosphere and level design is doing so much of the heavy lifting for me, they are at the top of their game in that regard at least.

Re: Helldivers 2 Director Defends Elden Ring Difficulty: 'Always Cater to a Select Audience'

Nalodart

I agree with helldivers guy though not everything is for everyone(the irony isn’t escaping me that hd2 bench the knee because of steam reviews but whatever)

But in the same breath they have to accept that some people will buy their game and hate it and review it poorly because they find it frustrating (frustrating as it may be for souls fans you can’t expect people that are annoyed by the game to just to shut up, so your favourite game can get even more praise, that also entitlement guys it works both ways 😂😂😂)

All the devs have to do is stick to their vision and accept that it will be review decisively.

Re: Helldivers 2 Director Defends Elden Ring Difficulty: 'Always Cater to a Select Audience'

Nalodart

@Korgon

I am 50/50 on their games
Some I like and some I hate, as I’m in it for the level design and atmospheres primarily.

I think the bosses and enemies are the weakest part for different reasons
The field enemies for the most part range from very stupid ai to a decent challenge.
And the boss designs are usually good but the controls in all fs game aside from maybe sekiro are the drawback that i fight with every single time, all I wish (which they will never do) is have a more responsive dodge not that half a second input delay that’s literally the only reason these games are “hard” to me and that is more frustrating that anything.

In older souls where the enemies are slower it’s okay but Elden is rough 😂😂😂

I know others don’t find it an issue but daaaamn I hate it

That’s why FS games are the masters at level design but poop at combat (to me)

Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update

Nalodart

@Korgon

Yeah I really doubt FS would nerf their baby into oblivion.
To be fair the headline on the article doesn’t help, and fans the flames for clicks (Which it’s worked to their credit)

You’ll still rage at the mega boss don’t worry 😉
and if you find all the bosses easy because you are that damn good you would have found it easy regardless pre or post patch 😂

Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update

Nalodart

@ATaco

I know right the base Elden made several adjustments over the years (Radhann alone was tweaked multiple times, nerfs and buffs just to find the best balance).
And is that game ruined? Nope people got over it.

The same way the they are pointing the finger at people airing frustrations about the game that they spend money on and have a right to do whether you agree or not(I really think steam needs a “maybe” recommend option), the purest complain about a minor adjustment… the irony 😂😂

Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update

Nalodart

@Korgon

I’m running a dual light greatsword and giant katana build myself on my second run (I won’t name them of course)
So yeah your blessing 5 is like a blessing 7 old patch, but if you’re exploring and find all the fragments which I’m sure you will the difference between the 2 patches is 5% so not exactly earth shattering 😂

Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update

Nalodart

@B0udoir have you actually seen the increases?
It’s not broken it just increases percentages and makes it more forgiving around 10-17 blessing.

The game was already broken with the busted builds you can make so to say this breaks the game is a touch extreme.

Like the difference between pre patch and post patch if you get all 20 blessing levels is 5%

FIVE PERCENT!! But no THIS is what breaks the game… it’s broken now 😂😂😂

Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update

Nalodart

@Korgon
Have you infused those blades out of interest or are they just standard?

There is a massive difference in this game though as the game has a reputation for being tough but fair.
And the imbalance in this game is more noticeable because of the difficulty of the major (not optional) bosses.

The weapon inbalance is more extreme than the base game imo
As I never felt most weapons were underpowered just others were better.

Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update

Nalodart

@themightyant as someone who fought it yes, it’s balanced poor in terms of standard weapons that don’t take advantage of status builds like bleed.
It shouldn’t be nerfed but rebalanced in terms of damage, they should increase resistances for bleed and others.
But lower physical defense a bit.
That way one play style isn’t far and away the more superior.

The boss also has some readability issues, Melania was hard but her moves were readable.

The final boss has so many effects going on and so quick it’s hard to actually see what you are should be dodging and which exact move is which, especially considering Elden increases boss aggressiveness and speed 100% anyway compared to older souls games so it compounds the issue.
And I’m personally not a fan of that it feels cheap.

The could some of its moves more readable with a touch bigger damage window but increases its damage to compensate

Again not nerfing just rebalancing some attributes to make it fair.

Re: Elden Ring DLC Made Easier with New PS5, PS4 Calibration Update

Nalodart

I already finished it but the game indeed needed some balance changes, I was blessing 15 and my damage with a +10 colossal weapon was shocking against the final boss.

But switch to a bleed and the boss melts

The weapon Balance in needs work for sure, and the visual noise on some bosses is a bit much.
I’m all for hard fun fights but I’d like to actually see clearly what I’m dodging 😂😂😂
(Especially when the game has a delay/buffer input to its controls)

For me definitely not a 10 “greatest dlc ever” it’s more like an 8
