@danlk1ng yeah, I do feel myself sympathising with her more and more as the attacks against her intensify. It’s crazy. She has been treated appallingly.
Very happy to see the how well the game has been received - it will only boost sales, which is a good thing.
I think you should bring back downvoting rather than removing the comments. If a post gets 5 or more downvotes it gets hidden (but can still be viewed). It’s the only fair system. Not to mention how hard it is to follow the bloody conversation when half of it is gone 🙄
@Truegamer79 the original PS3 release and PS4 remaster of TLoU sold a combined total of around 24 million copies. TLoU 2 sold around 10 million copies. So, it sold well but nowhere near as well as it should have considering it was such a highly anticipated sequel to one one Sony’s biggest and most critically acclaimed games.
@dark_knightmare2 oh please, HFW is some privileged interns idea of how horrific the world can be (i.e. not very). Whoever wrote these characters does not live in the real world, has never stepped foot in the real world and lives an extremely sheltered existence. They need to hire someone with real world experience to write the next one. Unless, ‘Disney version’ of post-apocalyptic world is what Guerrilla are going for?
Don’t care about any of those examples you gave, if you’re trying to incite some kind of reaction. The writing in HFW was weak. Weak.
“All of the artifacts and audio logs describe the lore aka the setting (which is just as fantastic in the second game).”
Wrong.
“The story mechanics are what drive the game forward.”
So wrong.
Look, I can see I’ve hurt your delicate sensibilities. You’re absolutely right, baby - the story in Forbidden West is amazing. Couldn’t have written it better myself lol it’s not silly, or absurd, it’s wonderful… really… 👀
@Loftimus well if all you took away from the first game is that it was a ‘basic origin story’ I’m not surprised you preferred the story in the second game. You have to pay attention to the details, baby. Did you read the artefacts and listen to the audio logs in the first game? Forbidden West was amateur hour compared to the first. The article in question even states ‘it’s all a bit silly’ and it was. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate Forbidden West but the story was awful.
@Loftimus and yet the overwhelming consensus is that the story in Forbidden West isn’t as good as the first game. It’s the weakest element of an otherwise great game. We’re all entitled to our own opinions though I guess.
@bozz Game of Thrones was a brilliant show with Dragons and and army of undead zombie-like creatures, until the writing fell off a cliff. Same applies to Horizon. None of the characters in Horizon Forbidden West behave like real people would. The writing is shockingly bad.
@Loftimus that’s like saying all the Star Wars movies are the same because it’s the same lore. When we all know some Star Wars movies are better than others (because they have better stories and the writing isn’t appallingly bad).
@naruball well, there is TLoU2 and Horizon - not sure if Aloy is gay (I’m sure it was hinted at in Forbidden West) but they definitely made her face more ‘masculine’ in the sequel (god forbid she be seen as conventionally ‘pretty’). Female leads have to be super strong, determined and smart to be taken seriously, apparently. They certainly can’t be seen as being an object of desire for evil men, hell no. I don’t care if the lead is gay or not but I know for certain that Days Gone with a female lead (gay or straight) would have been reviewed better than it was. It would have been seen as being brave and progressive or whatever. Days Gone with an unapologetically ‘male’ lead was easy for reviewers to dismiss and write-off as a failure. The fact that it resonated so much with actual gamers speaks volumes.
@EaglyTheKawaiiShika I think he’s saying because the main character was like a redneck male and kind of a douchebag the game was reviewed unfairly. If the main character was a butch woman (or anything other than what it actually was), it would have been reviewed more favourably. There’s probably some truth to that. If this game was about a female biker trying to find her girlfriend, we’d probably have two or three sequels by now lol
@Constable_What most people would be disappointed but not make a fuss. Mistakes happen. I don’t think making a big deal about it on Twitter is the right way to go about it but she’s had her 15 minutes now I suppose.
@Shad361 that was my only issue with this game. The fact that it’s split between two different sets of characters makes it feel even shorter. They could have done way more with the arena. Less isn’t always more.

Re: HBO's The Last of Us Continues Meteoric Rise, Hits New Ratings High
The hyperbole is a bit much. It’s been good so far but hardly groundbreaking. The show isn’t a patch on the game.

I wonder if Hogwarts Legacy will credit J K Rowling for her creation? I’m guessing not.
Re: CGI Hogwarts Legacy Trailer Tours the Castle Grounds
@Angelus3K I think it’s when she wished someone on Twitter a ‘Merry TERFmas’ at Christmas lol It didn’t go down well, as you can imagine.
Re: Game of the Year: Top 10 PS5, PS4 Soundtracks of 2022
@dark_knightmare2 I can’t remember a single track from HFW. Can’t have been THAT good, clearly 😉

Re: Game of the Year: #3 - Horizon Forbidden West
@jrt87 I loved it, I did… “kung-fu space wizards” … goood. “cross between the Nouveau Riche from Yakuza 0 and Albert Wesker?” … gooooooood! 🤣

@Loftimus 🤣

The other games were good but Ghostwire Tokyo came out of nowhere and blew me away. Gets my vote.

@RogerRoger “Amazon's a name that's almost too big to fail.”
I would have agreed with that before Rings of Power.
Re: PSVR2 Pre-Orders No Longer Require an Invite
I bought PSVR and barely used it. I’ll wait for PSVR2 to flop and pick it up at a huge discount.
I don’t think scalpers will touch this. No way near the amount of demand PS5 has.
Feels like a really bad time for Sony to be releasing an expensive and niche product like this (in the midst of a global recession lol).
