Borderlands 4 is the “most ambitious” entry in the looter shooter series yet, according to a Gearbox post on the PS Blog. The anticipated sequel got an all-new trailer during The Game Awards, and you can watch it above.

In addition to showcasing the new world of Kairos, it also introduces a nefarious faction named the Rippers, as well as antagonist the Timekeeper and his synthetic soldiers, known as The Order. We also get a glimpse of the new Vault Hunters who will feature in the game.

“Jam-packed with more loot than ever, free-form combat and exploration, large-scale boss battles, and unforgettable characters new and old, we can’t wait to show you what the world of Kairos has in store for you and your co-op crew,” creative director Graeme Timmins said. “Borderlands 4 features two-player local split-screen co-op or up to four players online, supporting however you want to play!”

The developer promises there’ll be a gameplay trailer in early 2025, ahead of the game’s launch later in the year.
