If xbox is getting it for game pass then I can wait for a price drop on playstation or even for it to be a PS+ essential game

@Cashews didn't that game first release on switch and get high praise though? So word of mouth already made it a must download for gamepass subs. Also it's Monster Hunter which is a very popular franchise of capcom's.

It has to come to playstation. That's where Sega Atlus has most of their audience as well as Nintendo switch

I figured most of the games besides Spider-Man 2 and FFXVI were multiplat

I'm happy on essential with 700 games

So glad to see people still have love for the PS1 startup. Just imagining the sound gets me in the mood to play games on it

I would say at the current state it is in. It is a 7 (my vote). It can be an 8 after a few months of patches.

A 6 feels fair. Not great, not ambitious, just more of what I already played all those years ago. Recommend waiting for sale

Was planning on getting it but it released too closely to the FF pixel remaster. Will get it at some point though

9/10 it does some things WAY better than the original but it does have its share of issues like not being able to really make full use of the storage by allowing us to put any excess items like resources or herbs to make just a bit more room

I got a backlog growing out of control and really need to take care of a few games before adding more to it

Was hoping to see more first party stuff but it was mostly just RE4 remake, SF6, and Suicide Squad.

Meh. Good games but I already own most of them also where are the premium games? These are mostly the games being added to extra tier. Is premium only getting that Syphon Filter game?

Of course Ragnarok will be number 1 for this site lol. I'll say I did enjoy Ragnarok but I wished it laid off on the hand holding, which Elden Ring didn't do for me

Out of that extra lineup I own like 9 out of 15 games and the premium games have to be streamed. I am sticking to essential and thanking god I got a PS4 in time to build a proper library of games that could put the other tiers to shame.

This service is great if you are just now buying a system whether it is a PS4 or PS5 but us long time subscribers are kind of disregarded.

Going through the list saying to myself "Got it, don't care, got it, got it, this one was already free for PS5 for essential users..." it is funny when I can stay on the lowest tier and still have more to play than extra and premium combined

This sounds like it is gonna be an FF game with everything that makes DMC great, which I am all for.

Which is kind of funny because the essential tier users got this game for "free" before the tier system started lol. So users on a lower tier will still have it compared to extra tier users

@Tharsman but it is still a game that most reviewers factored in price and said to wait for a major price drop. Factoring in price just lets consumers at least know whether their money is well spent or wasted

@Tharsman I agree. Take the new Saints Row for example. People are saying "wait for a sale" for that game because paying full price felt like a ripoff when it does nothing new that the previous games did BETTER

I do think it is still a great 10/10 game when it came out. I'll give the new one an 8 because I just felt it was unnecessary to "remake"

Played both PS3 and PS4 versions. I don't have any interest to play the PS5 version

It's a $15 pick up for me. I might even be able to wait for it to be $10

Btw this is a European conference, run by European devs, and their best game was made by a European studio. This is nothing more than a glorified pat on the back

What it mostly boils down to is if you haven't played the game and own a PS5, you have 2 options

1. You buy the $70 version since you didn't originally buy the PS3 or PS4 version

2. You can save money and get the PS4 version that offers a near identical experience and is compatible with the system

For those of us that have played it, we also have 2 options:

1. Pay full price AGAIN

2. Skip it since we played the original games and can wait for a sale or for it to even be a free game via ps extra or a ps+ essential free game

It is in my eyes. I mean even if you just bought a PS5 as your first playstation console, then just get the $15 PS4 version that I am sure is backwards compatible with the system and save yourself $55.

If my answer to the question "is it necessary?", is a big fat NO, then it's a cash grab in my eyes, period.

@WallyWest that's what it looks like. The other possibility is with playstations upcoming tiered service, we will be able to at least download P3P since they said it gave us a catalogue of PS, PS2, and PSP games

So when does the service start exactly?

This either means the games are so good Sony wants it to be a great reveal or they are so disappointing they know it will anger their subscribers
