@Pat_trick Where did I say I was dismissing anyone's argument? I talked about literal fanboys, but unfortunately this site attracts a few too many of them.
@get2sammyb Microsoft has always been drumming this beat, though. They don't share console sales numbers, it's about player engagement. Xbox Series X|S doesn't need to outsell PS5 or Switch to be a success, and that's essentially what Phil said.
His comments are completely accurate, but of course fanboys on both sides will go off on one 🙄 Phil mentions how people are embedded in either ecosystem, and have built a library of games there. Since so many people were on PS4 — which as he mentions is the generation they lost — not many people are willing to invest in a whole new system.
What he actually said on the podcast is that people aren’t going to up and sell their PS5 because Starfield is incredible. The digital nature of most people’s libraries stops that happening now.
I think people are going to be quite surprised when they learn what these 10 live service games actually are, because I'm willing to bet any money Ghost of Tsushima 2 is one of them.
It'll have the same huge single player campaign, but that Legends mode is going to be massively expanded in the sequel. Sony isn't just making 10 Battle Royale knockoffs. These are going to be fully-fledged games.
@aSmilingMan I would recommend trying Jedi: Fallen Order first since that's the first game in this story, and is standalone from the Star Wars movies. Even though it's an excellent game, I don't think I could recommend Survivor at full price for someone with no exposure to the series. If you enjoy Fallen Order, though, this is even better!
@KundaliniRising333 I played the vast majority with the tech issues present, yes. Before the patch, the 30fps Quality Mode was actually smoother than the Performance Mode. It was a bit mad.
I haven't tested the 30fps mode since the patch, but while there are still small dips in the 60fps Performance Mode, it's so much better now. A more than acceptable way to play the game.
@itsfoz Considering how many articles we post every day, having a single Rumour article basically once a week really isn't very much. There are so many we could cover, but choose not to.
This was going to be the first-ever E3 I attended. Having dreamt of going for over a decade, I'm pretty gutted by this news even if it was going to be bad.
@Areus I think Capcom has already done quite a lot for the Mega Man series with all those collections, and then — correct me if I'm wrong — the Devil May Cry games haven't changed all that much. They're all still linear action games, to the point where you might not see much improvement beyond the visuals. And we've already had the remastered collection.
@Darude84 Yeah I believe there was an issue claiming the DLC at launch via PS Plus but it was later fixed. As long as Sony isn't doing anything weird, you shouldn't have any issues playing Burning Shores with the PS Plus version
@caiol92 I played the whole game with the day one patch applied, which fixed the rain. I didn't really have any issues with it when actually playing the game.
As for the audio, the whole thing sounded fantastic to me; really atmospheric. I'm absolutely not an expert in this field, though, so it might be worth searching out more expert opinions on the audio if it's a big deal to you. I just used earphones plugged into the PS5 controller.
@KundaliniRising333 I didn't have any issues with the controls or the game's performance once during my 50 hours with the game. There's no need to accuse outlets of taking money for positive reviews either.
@Bleachedsmiles Capcom only very recently said it's begun development of the PSVR2 mode, so I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. There are no hints yet as to what it could be; none in the game itself either.
Hi everyone, it’s been a pleasure playing Resident Evil 4 these past few weeks! Feel free to copy me in if you have questions, but please note I’m still under a strict embargo. I’m not allowed to discuss what’s new, been changed, or removed yet.
@themightyant I just like to know how long I played a game for, sort of like a diary in the same way Trophies can function. I know it ultimately a meaningless stat, but when I have one console that reliably tracks and another that doesn’t, I’ve decided to give my money to the one doing it accurately from now on.
I don’t have any grand reasoning for placing importance on playtime, I just really like to see the stat 😂 It bothers me when it’s inaccurate
@Shepherd_Tallon That's fine, I know it's a weird hang-up to have but it's just something that really bothers me. My Xbox has accurately tracked every game I've ever played on it so I go there now for third-party stuff I'm not reviewing.
@Titntin Actually, I do value the game experience that much that I want the console to accurately track how long I played the game for. I spent £500+ on the system, so I expect it to track playtime correctly.
That's never going to be the case for me until they fix the completely broken playtime tracker on PS5. I'd rather my expensive console accurately track time than add a bit of extra controller rumble.

Re: Honkai: Star Rail Surpasses 20 Million Downloads Ahead of PS5, PS4 Launch
I'm gonna have to give this game a go when it comes to PS5. A live service turn-based RPG sounds far too good to miss out on.

@Anke I'm happy to hear it helped you out!

@jmac1686 It's still presented in that hologram style, but it's a much better map this time that's easier to read.
@Odium The platforming is really good, I enjoyed it a lot. Super satisfying.

Re: PSVR2 Sales May Actually Be Stronger Than Has Been Suggested
@bkeswick My article was mostly based on the complete lack of a game roadmap the headset has, not sales
Re: Alan Wake 2 Is Still on Track for 2023 Release on PS5
Alan Wake II releasing this year still kind of feels too good to be true for me. I hope it happens, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Pro Really Is Targeting 2024 Release Date
@itsfoz Since the start of March, we've posted five Rumour articles. That's too many?

@Titntin I wasn't writing for a website back then, only 18 at the time
Re: The Last of Us Is One of Sony's More Popular PC Ports Despite the Flaws
@Americansamurai1 @trev666 Naughty Dog did the vast majority of the work on the port, not Iron Galaxy.

@kyleforrester87 You can blame me haha

Re: PSVR2 Sales Off to a 'Slow Start', New Report Claims
@theheadofabroom You can, if it comes from Jason Schreier.
Re: Gran Turismo 7 Officially Details Huge PS5, PS4 1.31 Update, Out Today
@Reeneman It's out today in the US, which translates to tomorrow morning in Europe.
Re: The Last of Us on PC Attracts 'Mostly Negative' Reviews for Crashes, Poor Performance
@truerbluer Naughty Dog did the port with what sounds like a very small bit of help from Iron Galaxy. This is very much a Naughty Dog project, though.
Re: Gran Turismo 7 Has Another Big PS5, PS4 Update Dropping This Week
@NEStalgia It’ll almost certainly come back at a later date, but yeah, I’m afraid it’s only a time-limited feature.

@NoCode23 Yep! You'll find Vipers in the odd box here and there.
Re: Best PSVR2 Games
@thefourfoldroot1 That’s right, Chapter 2 actually has a qualifying rating, but it hasn’t received enough votes yet 😊
Re: Best PSVR2 Games
@Reeneman It hasn’t received a high enough user rating on our Game Page to make the top 15.
Re: Resident Evil 4 Remake Guide: Walkthrough, Tips and Tricks, and All Collectibles
@Nepp67 This was all done entirely on my own; I had no help from anyone else.

Re: C-Smash VRS Release Date Announced, Playable Demo Available Now for PSVR2
This looks interesting. I think I'll give the demo a go.
Re: You Must Beat Horizon Forbidden West to Play PS5 DLC Burning Shores
@Darude84 You definitely should be able to play the DLC using the PS Plus version. It's the same game; you're just getting it via a service.

@KundaliniRising333 No issues at all, I used the default controller settings the entire time.

Re: Resident Evil 4 (PS5) - A True Masterpiece Made Even Better
@Olliemar28 There are four difficulty modes, but Mad Chainsaw Mode was exclusive to the demo. The hardest setting unlocks after beating the game once.
