Alan Wake 2 PS5

Alan Wake II is still on course to release later this year, Remedy has confirmed. Buried at the bottom of a new blog post revealing the developer's new logo, communications director Thomas Puha says: "You can look forward to Alan Wake 2 later this year and several great Remedy experiences to play in the coming years." Control 2 and remakes of the original two Max Payne games are also in development at the Finnish studio.

First announced at The Game Awards in 2021, the survival horror sequel has always been slated for a PS5 launch this year, and Remedy has never swayed from that. With so few details surrounding the title, though, this commitment to a 2023 release suggests a blowout must be on the way sooner or later. A new trailer and more information during a June gaming conference sounds like a safe bet. We know the game is playable "from start to finish", so developerment does appear to be going well at least.

As for its all-new logo, the team wanted to "update and redefine our visual identity to bring more consistency, showcase our evolution over the years, and better express our vision of today’s Remedy". It explained the old logo represented the Max Payne era, with a bullet in the letter R. "We wanted our new logo to reflect how we constantly evolve and continue creating exciting games with the very best people. However, it’s all still one Remedy where courageous creativity thrives. We hope you like the new look."
