@Kidfunkadelic83 No need to be rude. In addition to toxic fans, there are also reasonable people playing on PC, just as there are on Playstation, Nintendo or Xbox. It's okay to call out Sony in case they do something that hurts the player experience.
That's kind of a bad look for sure. Even if they offer full refunds to the players, it's not exactly nice when you have a game that you enjoy only for it to be taken away. I just don't see why they feel like they have to do this. Just let people play without PSN, and everyone would be happy.
Edit: And sure, you can keep playing it even if you're in one of the affected countries. But then you're forced to break the terms of service because the PSN isn't supported in your country. Not everyone is willing to do that. If they wanted to, they could even ban your account for something like that (although I don't know if they actually would).
@ChrisDeku While you're correct that phone numbers are widely available, the same can't be said for email addresses. Emails are just about the easiest way to scam people into giving their personal information away.
That said, I don't think that's relevant to the topic. There are enough reasons to dislike Sony's actions here even without touching the whole security aspect. I believe the main reason why Sony wants people to use their PSN is to collect some data (shocking, right?). It's all in the privacy policy, nothing uncommon about that, but it's okay not to like it.
Anyway, the main reason why I personally don't like this is simply because it's completely unnecessary and inconvenient. The other companies do it too, but so what? I'd much rather have a future where the players don't need to create unnecessary accounts to play games. Especially for single player games, but I don't see any reason to believe they would pull this off in their single player titles.
@dark_knightmare2 There hasn't been an official statement, and it may very well never become into anything real, but there has been evidence of them at least considering it.
With PS VR2 getting PC compatibility, it would make a lot of sense as well. They make their money with software and (as far as I know) sell hardware with loss or a tiny profit margin. Having PC support without getting money from VR software outside of the ones they themselves publish would not be a good decision for them. Steam/Epic etc take a big chunk of the profits out of their own releases as well.
@ChrisDeku To be fair, there has been some reports indicating that Sony is preparing its own launcher for PC. The requirement of PSN login does fit into that picture.
It's kind of weird to see so many people defend the PSN login here. Okay, let's be reasonable. It's not a massive operation to create a new account. It probably will not leak all of your important data to people with malicious intentions.
But the game works fine without PSN login. It wasn't there at the launch, even if it was mentioned that it was coming. Why add it now? The player certainly doesn't benefit from it, and has more to lose than to gain.
Review bombing is not okay, and it's childish, unnecessary and harmful. But I think it's completely okay to criticize Sony for this. I hope they change their mind and don't have similar PSN requirements in their future PC titles.
It sucks when you need an EA account, Ubisoft account or Epic account to play your games. And yes, it also sucks when you need a PS account to play a game that clearly doesn't actually need it whatsoever (it has worked just fine so far, right?).
Now, review bombing is childish and unnecessary, but I think it's not unreasonable to want to play games without having to create an account. It should be enough that you have whatever account the store uses.
While I have nothing against buying games digitally, I don't want to support the trend of these big AAA games being digital-only. So I'll most likely wait until the game is like -50% off and get it then.
@Cyberbotv2 Maybe it's just me, but I would be far more impressed if they actually managed to fit the game under 100GB. With good file size optimization and avoiding pre-rendered cutscenes, I'm sure that would've been possible with minimal hit to the quality.
So people are mad that villains are acting like villains, and the game has a title that describes the story of the game.
I love Batman Arkham games, and I do think that is one of my favourite versions of Batman. But I don't mind this game's story whatsoever. It's the gameplay that is a turn off for me.
@trev666 Arkham Asylum was developed with a team of 40-60 people (starting with 40, ending with 60). That's a pretty perfect size for a team tbh, sometimes having more people only slows down decision making and causes clashing visions between team members.
Besides, I'm tired of seeing only open world games. Having quality games with smaller scale would be a nice change of pace.
While they say it's a remaster, it's in fact using Carbon Engine which means that it's just emulation with some nice quality of life stuff like rewind. Not saying there's anything wrong with it, it's just misleading marketing.
But then again, this is Limited Run Games, so maybe that's to be expected.
@jgrangervikings1 To each their own, but I find this game far more exciting than anything Ubisoft has released since Rayman Legends. Seems like a superb game.
@MattBoothDev Series S can definitely output 4K, but the GPU isn't strong enough to run most games with it. So while Series S has far more powerful CPU than One X (not to mention SSD which helps), it also has less powerful GPU and less memory (10 GB vs 12 GB).
@Jay767 I haven't read a single article that has confirmed this. Some news articles mention PS5 in title, but don't include any kind of official quote or references/sources. In the age of paid exclusives, I don't think it's responsible for news sites to share information without proper research.
Edit: Not to mention, calling it a PS5 reboot or PS5 revival makes it sound like a PS5 exclusive, which is kind of misleading.
Kind of weird calling it a PS5 reboot (and PS5 revival in other article) before they've even announced the platforms. Sure, it seems likely, but not certain yet.
I watched the trailer and I have absolutely no idea what I just watched. What do you do in the game, how does it play and what's the goal here? It looks visually nice, but I think this trailer failed in telling anything about the game.
I can see this kind of controller being very comfortable to use. It's a similar situation with Arcade sticks, playing fighting games etc is much less tiring for your hands than on a traditional controller.
I've played and enjoyed Tears of the Kingdom, Spider-Man 2 and Super Mario Bros. Wonder. All of these are great games and deserve to win. That said, Baldur's Gate and RE4 Remake seem like great games too.
Yes, I have had a bunch of (mostly small) bugs. The most common by far is subtitles getting out of sync, it has happened quite many times. Once the collision system failed and Spider-Man got stuck inside a building, and couldn't get out without switching to Miles. Also, once the mission didn't progress because one enemy was out of bounds and I couldn't take them out.
Oh, and one time the audio got completely messed up. Fixed itself eventually, though. Oh yeah, almost forgot about that one building that had some floating lamps in it and was also missing some point launch/zip points on the rooftop.
Anyway, nothing too major. Thankfully most of these could be fixed by restarting the last checkpoint in missions or switching to another character. I'm really enjoying the game, even if it could use a little bit more QA
No reason to upgrade, but seems like a nice device for those who are on the market for a PS5. 175GB of additional storage is nice, as long as this still has the SSD expansion slot.
@themightyant Unity has almost eight thousand eployees while Epic Games for example has less than four thousand. I have absolutely no idea why they need that many people. I feel like they've grown too big and shouldn't have made so many acquisitions or hired so many people. They should focus on making an engine for mobile platforms and indie developers, as those are the biggest markets for them.

@Northern_munkey Not entirely sure what your point is. I'm just saying that people should be more respectful to each other. Do you disagree?

Re: Helldivers 2 PC Is Getting Review Bombed Over PSN Requirement
@Ryu_Niiyama A lot of games have cross-play without requiring an additional login. So that is certainly not the reason for this.
