Re: James Bond Is Just 26-Years-Old in 007 First Light's PS5 Gameplay Debut

@AverageGamer "Sounds like you just want to play a carbon copy of films but in game form… and that has nothing to do with getting “old”."

Nah, I think many of us like the look of the game but don't feel like this Bond is very reminiscent of the character we're familiar with. For me, I think "Bond" and think nice suit, suave and sophisticated. This character feels more like Nathan Drake x Ethan Hunt.

Re: Poll: Are You Sold on PS5 Pro?

We're almost 4 years into the PS5 now, we're over the halfway mark. Tentpole games like Horizon and God of War look incredible and play great. The instantaneous loading alone sold me on upgrading to PS5 and I'm happy to wait for PS6 for ray tracing at 60 fps and whatnot.

Re: Game of the Year: #7 - Sonic Frontiers

All of you dissing on Frontiers fail to realise that for a lot of people it's just super fun to finally FEEL like Sonic. I spent an hour at the start just running around at full speed, exploring the landscape, before even thinking about the objectives. That alone is worth all the bugs and frustrating parts later on. It's exciting to think about how it can only get better from here.

Australian PS5 is missing ABC iView, our public broadcaster's excellent streaming service. I've plugged my PS4 back in just for that.

WWE seriously underestimate how important their games are. I only got into wrestling after playing WCW/nWo Revenge on N64 and getting hooked on the fun gameplay. It introduced me to the whole genre and the various wrestlers, so when I saw WCW Nitro on TV I knew who they all were and got hooked. When the next game was WWF Wrestlemania 2000 I subsequently started watching WWE Raw and became a fan of that. It also made me feel less connected to WCW and I wasn't as interested watching Nitro anymore.

The Yukes style of gameplay on the PlayStation WWF games never interested me at all and my disappointment that Yukes got to continue while AKI was dropped made me feel betrayed by WWE. I eventually stopped watching wrestling altogether for a decade. I've started watching it again recently but I don't really care about the wrestlers/characters like I did back when I played with them, so to speak, on the games.

I currently don't care about AEW at all because I know very little about their wrestlers. If they really do bring back the AKI engine for their game I will end up getting to know AEW really well. It's a brilliant move.

Re: Spider-Man Movie Dispute Raises Video Game Concerns

Obviously I'm in the minority on this here but I firmly believe Disney is in the right. Marvel made Spider-Man: Far From Home the great film that it is. Sony collected the profits. There's practically no way Sony can continue from where they left off without Marvel, it'll have to be a soft reboot - same actors but everything else will have to be different due to rights. Sony rebooting Spider-Man has become a meme at this point.

To me it comes down to what's best for the characters and the story. And that's to leave Spider-Man where he belongs, where he was created. Sony doesn't put the story first in their films, as evidenced by their meddling in Spider-Man 3 and Amazing Spider-Man 2; always dangling their finger on the reboot trigger when it doesn't work out.

Sony Animation did a great job with Spider-verse and Insomniac made an amazing exclusive game. Why can't Sony be happy with that and let Marvel do what they do so well with live-action Spidey? Sit back and collect those cheques. Seems suspect that they announce the acquisition of Insomniac the day before this all went down, like shielding themselves from Marvel being able to take the exclusivity rights. Sony also had plans for Spider-verse spin-offs on TV which they'd have to go through Marvel to get. So I don't think this is over yet.
