@WaveBoy I am under the impression that every 16.6ms an entirely new frame is drawn. I play old retro games on my TV and the movement is perfectly smooth to me. Pixel incrementation per frame for scrolling looks identical(CRT TVs literally keep 50% of the last frame on screen in interlaced form)

@WaveBoy The 120fps mode is meant to be good. Also, I'm refusing to play 120fps modes until it becomes an actual norm. 60fps is plenty if you don't attempt to spoil it all the time with 120fps(Vr not included9

@tinCAT-zero Absolutely! 4k60 IS the definitive way to play. I'll wait on a ps5pro to really play games with RT that aren't Sony 60fps balance modes.

@IAM1982 it doesn't matter. People pay for new content they are looking forward to all the time. Sony will never have any need to put their big guns up for near nothing day 1.

@themightyant By the time games are fixed and properly ready in terms of devtime and debugging, day one is the worst quality the game will be in...I always buy games I really want day one, but I do not play them at that state(couple of exceptions). By the time these games are fixed and ready they probably will not be on gamepass.

As a ps5 owner I have paid for doom eternal, psychonauts2, prey, quake and Dishonored. I think it's safe to say I've actually put more money into Microsoft's pocket than the average Xbox user(gamepass included). Make quality games and I buy. Simples.

@ryanburnsred Ok, I have my wires crossed regarding what you have been getting at. I'm in support of Sony getting money and as much of it as possible because they keep upping the game(pun intended). Also I expect god of war to get a bigger sales jump when Ragnarok comes out near end of year because more people are going to ask 'What is this god of war all about then?'. I incorrectly thought your first post was anti pc sales. It looks like we're actually kind of on the same wavelength after all. My apologies.

@ryanburnsred If you make a good, quality high production game that's very memorable and put it on pc running very well from one of the most talented studios on the planet, why should you NOT be able to put it up at £50? Going to all that trouble to release on a platform where piracy can be rife and wanting a profit. It's unthinkable. 😋

@themightyant That's true. Gamepass and Xbox in general might be good to build up word, but the meat lies elsewhere. I don't mind Xbox users litmus testing our games 🙈

@Fight_Teza_Fight And PLUS the trend is still in favour of digital. Whatever sales digital Xbox versions had, they still won't be redressing the balance because ps players also buy huge amounts of digital version.

@BAMozzy The brag might be something like, every one of those sales will generate profit for SE5, irrespective of how much the player will participate in the experience. Once an IP gains enough rep, never put it on gamepass again. Which will also sell even less again on Xbox. Best money to be made, don't bother with Xbox at all after game is sufficient quality and reputation.

Lots of good sales for plus owners.
PlayStation plus collection for ps5 owners is meaty.
Good relatively safe and non-cheating online play.
Nice cloud saves.
PSplus games every month a cherry on top.

For what it is I'm happy with it.
Looking forward to Extra and Premium tiers as the advantage is very cool.

@themightyant Yes keep Sony on the straight and narrow. But on the other side of the fence a certain billionaire who has bought loads and loads of land from farmers isn't using it to produce fresh food for a planet apparently on the verge of shortages. Sony are definitely the lesser of two evils I would say, and calling out should be dispersed equally. My two cents.

@BearsAndBattles I am genuinely curious about what you think would be an acceptable form of running old ROMs on newer hardware ?

I mean your dealing with 240i hardware with probably around about 2-4mb for all assets. Aside from using a good CRT filter to get the original feel as much as you can I don't see any way to get these games looking better(on pc or console). If I'm being an apologist, I will lightly chuck the words 'overly-entitled' to you 😋

@huyi I don't think the ps5 can even read standard CD-ROMs...maybe even not read dvds. ?

@BearsAndBattles Well I have my PS3 hooked up to my 55" 4k tv for PS1 games right now and its perfectly serviceable. Miracles aren't to be expected from running games emulating a much older system.
