Bought and played this over the weekend. Huge nostalgia rush combined with huge frustration with controls - we don’t realise how easy we have it with modern games. Took a level or two to get used to it but now it’s like 1996 all over again.
@rusty82 playing Assassin’s Creed too. It was very slow to start but I’m getting into it now. Hopefully complete the story today.
Then praying, though very unlikely the new Humans Fall Flat level makes it to the PS5 and can have some fun with friends.
And finally figuring out how to remove all remnants of ***** Modern Warfare 3 that seems to have installed itself and used most of any remaining disc space I once had.
I played and completed a short game (Turing Test) over stream and thought it was great. Since then, nothing new has been added and I feel like I've been ripped off.
Anyone know of any decent, realistic flight sims on PlayStation? The Coastline Flight Simulator caught my eye, but looking at it in more detail, it looks awful. "Huge open world of 80km X 80 km".
Looks great but still not quite there with the car shadows on the track - it looks like the cars aren't quite making contact with the asphalt on the external camera shots.
@NoCode23 5. Accept the fact that there are thousands of f****** w****** playing the game who you'll never be able to kill because they spend their life playing it. Definitely not from bitter experience.
I have never used the cards and now seem to get 'banner blindness' from them where I instinctively ingore them.
My biggest gripe by far of the new UI is not being able to put the PS5 to sleep without having to look at the screen. On the PS4 you could hold down the PS button and press X twice and it was off. One the PS5, the selected item on that bottom row of icons is always different so you can't intuitively / blindly go to the power settings. It's a small thing but pissed me off every time.
@Elodin JC3 was just fun and quite tongue in cheek in its story and gameplay. 4 took itself a bit too seriously and the map was just a bit cold, dark and depressing - a bit like how GTA 4 felt in comparison to others. Also the missions we're really boring and repetitive. The only plus point I would give 4 is that the load times were much better and should be great on a PS5.
Happened to me last night playing GTA V online for a few hours. Thought it was the PlayStation checking the correct disc was still in the machine.
I can see why it would... back in the early 2000s we used to be able to get 6 Macs on a LAN to all run Medal of Honour by force ejecting the disc after it had loaded and sharing between housemates!
I've only played about 2 hours of it so far, but it feels a bit claustrophobic compared to WD2 - the tall buildings make everything feel very enclosed.
Combat is a bit annoying too - when you're in a scrap and you need to flee in a car, triangle throws an uppercut instead of opening the car door. I'll obviously give it more time but I don't have that "must continue playing it now" feeling I got with the second.
@thefourfoldroot I would be very very surprised if the buttons on the remote were mappable - media companies pay an absolute fortune to have their name there.
Stupid question, but if I just bought the PS4 version with no intention of playing it on a PS4, would you be presumably getting the same game for the PS5 but for a bit cheaper?
@Danloaded I guess there are new people getting into gaming as they grow up every day and GTA V is such a classic with such longevity with regards to gameplay. They've been marketing it a lot recently too. That being said it's still incredible that it's a top 10 seller after all these years.
To be fair I actually think Far Cry does change it up a lot. The gameplay is kind of similar (which is a plus as far as I'm concerned) but the settings and locations are all over the place (again, in a good way). FC2 remains my favourite - something about the African drumming soundtrack that sticks with me.

Re: Rumour: Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag Remake Is Now In Active Development
Great game that I’d happily replay, but not at full price. Possibly the only game with a Welsh protagonist? I await the replies that prove me wrong!
Re: Retro Survival Horror Alisa: Developer's Cut Corners a PS5, PS4 Release Date
Another example of why Push Square’s policy on using title case in headlines is confusing. Why were the devs cutting corners?
Re: Random: Yorkshire Tea Is Brewing Up a Custom PS5 Controller for Some Reason
Going to come across snobby here but Clipper Organic or gtfo.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Assassin's Creed Mirage?
@IronMike yes, it just doesn’t feel very fluid.
Re: Poll: Are You Playing Assassin's Creed Mirage?
Yes and it feels a bit clunky as far as movement goes. Not really good enough for 2023.
Re: One of the Worst Games of All Time Is Coming to PS5, PS4, And You Won't Believe the Merch
Definitely a day 1 for me.
Re: 20 PS Plus Extra, Premium Games Coming Next Week
Absolute tripe.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Hogwarts Legacy on Top as Armored Core 6 Drops
I will never not still be amazed that GTA V sells so well to this day. Is this the best ROI on a video game ever?
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for August 2023 Announced
@Member_the_game having paid for both, I’d actually be more excited by the fact it is 2K23 - it’s way more fun.
Re: Humanity (PS5) - PS Plus Puzzler Is an Unusual But Enthralling Journey

Re: 900+ PS5, PS4 Games on Offer in New Bumper PS Store Sale
@Ooccoo_Jr last game I bought was MW2 knowing it wouldn’t be on PS+ for years. Everything else I can hold out for.

Still holding out and saving my COD points for the Susan Boyle crossover. 🤞
Re: Next-Gen Shooter Neo Berlin 2087 Is Baffling PS5 Owners
Hear me out… could this be a trailer entirely written and generated by AI to test the water?
Re: The Last of Us: Part I Handed a PS Plus Premium Trial on PS5
Is the trial two hours playtime or real world time?
Re: Hey, Super Promising PS5, PS4 Co-op Shooter The First Descendant Still Looks Really Good
The capitalisation of all the words in the article titles drives me bananas - I never know what game is being referred to.
(That's my only gripe with the website, keep up the great work!)

Re: PSP's Ridge Racer 2 Looks Tasty in Upressed PS5, PS4 Screenshots
@Barryburton97 I literally had to read it out loud three times and still wasn't sure. Up-resolutioning?
Re: PS5 VRR Support Finally Coming This Week, Boosting Performance in Some Games
Definitely not me getting excited thinking it was about the new PS5 VR headset...

Re: Poll: How Would You Rate PS Plus in 2021?
I've got some many hours playing PGA Tour 2K21 with friends. And I don't even like golf.
Re: Talking Point: Do You Read All the Crap in Games?
With Far Cry 6 I only ended up reading the ones with a clue to solve the purple-gem-thingy challenges.

Re: Weird PS5 Game Abandoned Delays Trailer App to Friday
@bimboliquido yeah, and using sentence case in the article titles would make distinguishing the game title from the story title a little easier 🤔
Re: When Is the Square Enix Presents Livestream?
@OrigamiCrane I got excited when I read Just Cause, and then lost all excitement when I read mobile.
Re: UK Sales Charts: Hitman 3 Physical Sales Exceed Hitman 2, Half of Sales on PS5
GTA V still at it. Incredible.

From memory, Hitman, Detroit Being Human and Resident Evil 1 are the only PS+ games I've got into and played to completion.
Re: December 2020 PS Plus Games Are Available to Download Now
@Rash nah it's just a pretty crap game compared to 3.

Re: December 2020 PS Plus Games Are Available to Download Now
I paid a fortune for the full fat Super Gold Deluxe Just Cause 4 (or whatever it was called) because I enjoyed 3 so much. Never been so disappointed.
