@Dragon83 @RoomWithaMoose Origins was $59.99 when it came out. Insomniac’s game is $79.99. Adjusted for inflation Origins would be $95.22 now. Wolverine will be cheaper than origins and longer according to what you heard vs. how long to beat’s estimate on origins.
@Leinad7 I have never had gamepass but how is that abusing the system when it’s offered by the creators of the system? It was literally just them shooting themselves in the foot chasing the Netflix business model. Take losses and losses and boom they become profits ten years down the road. That just doesn’t work with games because they require more attention and are more time consuming than movies and tv shows.
@naruball Maybe. Timing it likely six months ahead of announcing an all digital PS6 and nearly two years ahead of its release was probably smart. Overall not a good decision but it was a good move to announce it was in advance.
@MikeOrator is the price really outrageous? I paid $59.99 for madden 97 on SNES. Thats $126.99 now. I still think gaming, outside of the recent hardware pricing issues caused by other industries, has remained about the same price it has always been. If anything during the PS3/PS4 era it was likely underpriced comparative to the rest of gaming history.
@CielloArc If they chose to make changes to remove content it isn’t censorship. It’s only censorship if it is forced through outside pressure, typically from a government body or regulatory entity.
@PercyChuggs they are also more expensive so you pay to be there to get the cool ***** I guess. Speaking as someone living in one of the most expensive places in the U.S…. Not sure it’s worth it.
@nessisonett Again, I think that statement is very reliant on what 700 means to the consumer. Everyone commenting on this site needs to calm down and show a little grace this place is slowly becoming unbearable. This is a place to discuss a hobby…
@nessisonett really depends on how much 700 means to the consumer though.i would agree for most people its not worth it but for people who purchased it likely is.
@themightyant yea gaming is arguably cheaper than ever. Launch price is cheaper and you can do physical and digital sales or subscriptions. We are at a point where there is way more content for less price, but that is not good enough.
Cost of living is higher which I guess is the counter argument. Not devs fault though, there expenses are also much higher.
@Oram77 also the story of Ellie and Joel’s relationship between the second game and his death is very well told, with the reveal that they were going to work on their relationship and made piece virtually right before he died acting as a catalyst for the revenge quest. Ellie couldn’t let it go because she felt guilty for wasting the last five years with him. People are very reductive when discussing the games themes, either ignoring it or really not understanding it.
I don’t understand why a higher tier console option is so controversial. No one complains there is a better package for cars with a 10k premium attached. I have been having a great time with the Pro. My buddy has a great time with the standard PS5. We never bitch about whether I wasted my money or not.
@Stocksy To be truely great at my job, which should be expected by all members, you must be willing to crunch and work above and beyond. ND is/was the gold standard in game development. No one there should expect 40 hours a week. Performance at a high level requires self-sacrifice.
@Stocksy plenty of other jobs require crunch. My job 100% requires crunch several times a year and it is absolutely unavoidable. I enjoy it though but I have noticed the young associates at my firm expect to only work 40 hours a week and get paid like the associates that work 50-60.
@GeminiX53 Intellectual property protection is a large part of my legal practice. I can easily and have the knowledge to emulate and understand the back end of doing so and the effects on the intellectual property owners. You are incorrect on literally every assumption you just made. Like I said you are free to justify theft in any way you see fit. It is still theft.
@amatmulisha The irony that the way you speak about America is the same rhetoric used by those in power to turn popular sentiment against our neighbors in Mexico and Canada.
The United States is larger than all of Western Europe and thanks to hundreds of years of some of the most liberal immigration policies and sanctuary programs ever seen in history, arguably just as diverse. The current regime represents us not by right, but because our system of power is fundamentally flawed. If it brings you peace of mind to attack an entire country for the actions of those in power so be it, but it is extremely ignorant.
@Sakai the caveat is that publicly traded companies are legally obligated to make more money for shareholders. Unless your firm is, it’s not applicable. I will say I don’t agree with the law but it does exist and is well held.
My firm does profit sharing with all employees to try and help with the current economy. We could just pocket the money but we flow it downstream because it sucks out there.
@amatmulisha agree in part and dissent in part. Over half the population didn’t vote for him. And he is not the sole cause of the current economic decline the entire world is experiencing. You would hope people around the world are observant/intelligent enough to realize that.
@Reyzore yea this price increase sucks. What sucks more is that it costs me 6k a month just to live. Blessed with a good job but I am very worried for a lot of people with the current cost of living. Have friends and family that are struggling.
@Oram77 I agree GoY was stunning visually but I played on a pro and a very nice tv. I have not heard how it looks otherwise. Game is incredible though despite the internet’s usual dogpiling and clownish behavior.
@HRdepartment it’s talking about the likelihood of games coming to PlayStation no? PushSquare is due criticism at times but this one doesn’t make sense.

@GeminiX53 I mean it is technically theft so even if I wanted to I cannot emulate. There are many reasons not to engage in the practice.
