'Launching the Game Is Just the Beginning': Don't Trade In 007 First Light for PS5 1

As it stands, 007 First Light is one of the strongest single player campaigns of 2026 so far. And that’s no small statement: it’s been a remarkably packed year, between Pragmata and Resident Evil Requiem, to name just two.

But once you’re done with the 10 to 15 hour story, you may want to keep hold of the James Bond game for a little longer, because dev IOI has big plans.

Speaking with Eurogamer.net, Chief Development Office Véronique Lallier explained that “launching the game is just the beginning” of its support, with a TacSim roadmap to be revealed in the foreseeable future.

For those who don’t know, TacSim remixes many of the main levels from 007 First Light, giving you new challenges and objectives to complete.

Lallier said:

“It's something we've done very successfully with Hitman. We have TacSim content that will be made available after launch, and there will be a roadmap of content. Because for us, the way we see things is: launching the game is just the beginning, and it's important for us to learn and listen to the feedback of the players and everybody and see, okay, how can we do it better? What should we do more? What should we do less? And that's something we've been doing with Hitman over a decade with a World of Assassination, and we're definitely going to try to bring more content [here].”

It’s true that Hitman has continued to grow and evolve in an unprecedented way; recently we’ve been receiving missions involving celebrity targets, like Eminem and Bruce Lee.

I’m excited to see exactly how IOI evolves TacSim over time; new gadgets and gizmos seem inevitable, but could we see the integration of some classic Bond villains utilising existing playspaces? I think that would be very cool.

I’ve played about a quarter of 007 First Light so far and I absolutely love the story and the way Bond feels to control. I must admit, I was very concerned about performance on the PS5 Pro, so I’m delighted to say IOI has delivered in this department.

I’ll continue to work my way through the campaign over the coming days, but I am excited to see where the Danish dev takes the title next.

I’m not expecting support as strong as Hitman – Agent 47 is just much more malleable overall – but I trust the dev to meaningfully iterate on the core experience and give us 007 fans plenty more to do for years to come.
